...enemy! COMPANY HISTORY Nokia is a well-known famous mobile phone brand and in this mobile age most people will have owned a Nokia phone at one time or other. The company was actually first started in Finland and dates back to 1865, believe it or not the company started as a paper mill! The paper mill merged with a rubber works and cable works in 1967 to make up the world famous Nokia Corporation. In 1992 they lunched their first GSM handset the ...
...Nokia tune and more importantly in 1997 the 6110 was launched with the game Snake! WHAT'S IN THE BOX? Now I very nearly had to skate pass this bit because as soon as I got my new phone home the other half disappeared with the box to play with my new phone (boy's and their toys!) After rescuing it (waited for him to pop to the loo!) I found the box contained: The phone (well doh!), stereo headset, instruction booklet, charger, USB cable, memory card, ...

NOKIA Nokia is a multinational telecommunications company. The business was born in Finland in the 1960's and is now a worldwide manufacturer of mobile phones. Most people remember the old classic Nokia 3210, quite heavy with its redeeming feature being snake. Since then Nokia has come a long way and I've had several Nokia phones in my time: the good old 3210, a 6210 which was originally intended for business and had a huge memory, a cute 6233 with ...
...turned it on. The friendly Nokia tune and an image of an adult's hand holding a child's greeted me. Seeing this, I was impressed with the quality and brightness of the screen. I thought my 6233 was good, but this was better. The phone is reasonably heavy, but this is understandable seeing as it's casing is made from brushed stainless steel. It's not an anchor in your pocket though, and I actually find the weight quite comforting. This was my first ...

...always going to be a Nokia as any I'd had previously had been better than other brands Id used, and one of the newer options avaliable was this the 6500 slide. As Im with Orange I had the option of the new black version or the original silver, I chose the black simply because they had it in stock at the time. On receiving the handset my intial impressions were about its weight and size. With a predominantly metal casing it feels robust and obviously ...
...home. Texting is typical Nokia standard, predictive text is as easy to use as it was on my previous nokias (once you get used to it again anyway), and I like that it is now very easy to add attatchments to messages without needing to send a separate multimedia message. But Im not a fan of the cartoon style smileys it now has, they are too small on the screen to properly make out what the image should be. Bluetooth connectivity is well standard ...

...deliberation I decided on the Nokia 6500 slide in black. I could have got the silver phone at a much cheaper price but I decided that the black one looked too good to turn down. First Impressions If you look at the phone from a top down view you will see that the screen is quite big. Infact it is 2.2 inches which is fairly big. Below the screen are four buttons as well as 4 directional buttons in silver. The bottom two buttons are the main calling ...

These are not the best themes in the world but do all match the phones looks. Each theme will modify the homepage and the menu items. Pre installed on the phone are 5 games. These are Backgammon, Golf Tour, Highroller Casino, Rally 3D and Snake 3. End of the day these games ...

Nokia 6500 slide

The Nokia 6500 slide is a slider phone released in early 2008. It was announced in 2007 as part of the Nokia6500Series - which also includes the Nokia 6500 classic which has slightly less features. The 6500 series with its stainless steel design proved to be a success, and led to the 6600 series (consisting of the 6600 classic and the 6600 slide) and the as yet unreleased 6600i series. --- the BASICS --- The 6500s is a 3G phone characterised by a ...

The phone supports microSD and the maximum size of cards available and recognised for the 6500s is currently 4Gb (It supports all microSDHC). (Internet and Messaging) The internet works well as it supports turbo 3G internet browsing. This allows speeds of upto 3Mbps when ...

Great phone with a good quality camera

Disadvantages: Not enough memory, camera not great in low light

...have just upgraded to the Nokia 6500 after a year using a Sony Erricson, and have to say I am glad to be back with a Nokia. The interface is so easy to use, with a very clear menu and easy to use text message input. Starting with the look of the phone, the design is very sleek and I particulary like the polished metal on the exterior and the minimislist design. The phone has a good sized screen with a very clear display and is quite thin. The slide ...
...sound effects when you open and close the phone. The keypad is well designed with quite large buttons which make texting easier, even for those with bigger fingers. There is the option to customise the navigation key shortcuts which makes accessing applications much easier. The camera is very good quality compared to other camera phones I have used. It has a zoom function, although the quality of the picture does suffer if you zoom in too much. The ...

great phone but has some downsides

Advantages: lots of great features, camera and video quality is great, screen is good and phones easy to use
Disadvantages: reception on phone is bad, cant hear people when in the middle of calls

The nokia 6500 slide is a sleek, robust and feature full 3G slider. My first perception of the phone when i took it out of the box was just how nice the slide felt and how durable the phone felt. It has a nice weight to it (125g), this is mainly due to the outer metal casing, but this is a nice thing because it makes you feel less scared about the phone cracking and makes it feel a little more protected. It also has a nice screen, it is a 2.2" QVGA ...
...it would seem that the nokia 6500 slide has many features, is very robust and is rather easy to use. however it has its downfalls for me, its reception is not all tat good, i never really can get full reception and when i do it doesn't stay for long, i sometimes loose reception altogether in the middle of sending a text and i also can't get any reception in places where my friends on other phones can get pleanty, however i would certainly feel that ...

Great Nokia Phone, impressive 6500 slide.

Advantages: Stylish, well built - good quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Few errors, sometimes crashes.

I got this phone as an upgrade on my O2 contract from the 6300, initially when comparing, I felt the 6500 slide was quite large and heavy but after a month I feel I can comment more appropriately on all of it's features. LOOK & FEEL The phone generally looks quite stylish. BUTTONS I have heard how other users have had problems with the buttons on this phone but I have found them to be fine and so far have had no problems with them. I thought the buttons may be quite small and fiddley with it being a 'slide' version, however, they are actually chunky and very easy to use. BATTERY The battery life has so far been quite adequate for me. ...

...interface is as friendly as Nokia can get. Connectivity I have tested it for bluetooth and it worked fine. I connected the Slide with my laptop, with another phone and with a pair of Nokia wireless headphones. All connections were seamless, except for reconnecting the headphones for a second time - I had to pair the phone with the headphones all over again to make it work. I also hooked it up to my computer via it's USB port to download music ...
...Music player Great feature, I have to say. A regular MP3 player this phone. It has playing capabilities from the basic ones down to playlists, selection based on albums, artists, genres etc., preset and customizable equalizer, to name a few. The other good thing is that you can have the player running while using the phone for other tasks (such as messaging). I connected the bluetooth headphones and I enjoyed the experience as much as I did on my ...

...having owned a rather uneventful Nokia 6100 for many years. I was pleased by the variety of features available, particularly those that I'd been missing out on such as a camera, music player, bluetooth, among others. The design is very satisfying and the slide mechanism seems vastly improved over many previous Nokia efforts. The camera and video recorders perform well and the clarity when making phonecalls is thoroughly impressive when compared ...

...not, there is also the Nokia 6500 Classic which is (I assume) the same phone but without the slide design. When I read the phone was 3.2 megapixels, I couldn't believe it. It turns out this is the new standard for phones. I guess I have been a little bit behind in phone technology recently. The camera is really great though. It has an LED flash, with two LEDs I believe. It looks as good as a digital camera to me, it's perfect for what I need (taking ...

The quality of pictures also goes down when zooming, also understandable as it is a digital zoom. It comes with a large range of games, they are all pretty good. The phone's clean cut lines, sharper edges and stainless steel body has had many comments from people about how nice the device looks. ===LOOK & FEEL=== As mentioned just above, the phoene looks and feels really nice in your hands. A week later the same hapened with the green call button. Two weeks later, scratches appeared on the keypad ...

...in a phone. Again the Nokia out did itself, as the phone came with a memory card it means you can download loads of songs (made simple with with Nokia PC suite CD you get). The sound you get from the phone is also clear obviously not as good as with other items such as an IPod but for a phone it is impressive! You also get headphones with the phone, which enable you to use FM radio. However this is one problem I do have with the phone, as I find ...
...The camera on the Nokia is a 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera, this is really easy to use. It zooms in quite far however if you do zoom in quite far it can start to become a bit pixelated however I think this is expected from a camera phone, still though I have printed images from this and they have been good. It also gives you all the ordinary options i.e. black and white, sepia, negative to edit your photos, and the camera also has a flash. The ...

Good for some, perhaps not others.

Advantages: Good quality sound and picture
Disadvantages: some failures may occur in the hi-tech areas

My boyfriend owns this mobile phone and he rather enjoys using it as it is simple to use and a good quality viewing screen to observe. This would be recommended for the older market as they can not complain about being unable to see the writing on screen. However there are a few complaints I would still have in my opinion from personal use on this mobile. The Windows Live messenger first of all sounded to be fantastic (Saving money on text messages, ...
...load up... getting the interenet started). However it does not have all of the advantages you would think it does. Connecting to windows is not a problem, however once on the programme talking to others can be proven rather difficult! Once one line has been written the next lines messes up and won't allow spaces to be used- therefore I have found that each time i send a message I can only use one line at a time. Also, it can be rather slow at replying, ...
