Unfortunately for me I took my previous phone (the Sony Ericsson C902) on holiday in August, and forgot to take it out of my swimming shorts pocket before jumping into the refreshing pool after melting in the 40 degree heat while in Egypt. After spending a good 20 minutes in the pool, it dawned on me as I climbed back out, that there was something in my pocket...DOH!!!! After trying to dry it out, and get it working again (in vain) during my last few days in Egypt, I finally conceded that it was dead, and started to ponder over what I would do about it once I got home, because I still had over ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple to use, looks nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages If you are looking for advanced features this won't be for you.

Well a few months ago my phone contract came up for renewal. I have been a customer of O2 for a long time and so I know that I can always get myself a good deal on a contract. I also wanted a new phone as part of the deal as my old phone was looking a bit old and scratched etc. I rang up O2 and managed to get myself a great deal as usual and they asked what new phone I would like. I had seen the Nokia 6500 Classic on a few websites and quite liked the look of it so asked for it. They were able to give me the phone I wanted which was great and I haven't been disappointed. When I look for a ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice looking and light weight..

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor battery life and technical problems

The Handset: The handset for this phone is very sleek - its about half a centimetre wide and holding it can take some getting used to if you have had an older model phone for a while as they are often wider. The key pad seems quite small at first but you quickly get used to it, I found on the first day that I kept pressing the wrong buttons but that soon stopped when I became accustomed to it. The design of the overall phone is attractive and makes a good unisex phone and being completly black it makes it look more hard wearing. The Pros: The phone is beautiful it looks really good and as its ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish, good standby time, sleek menu,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite delicate, not as up-to-date with features, average camera, little memory.

This phone is undeniably stylish, with a slick hard brushed metal case and streamlined candybar shape it is professional looking as well as fashionable. The standard nokia menu is updated with a screen background that allows you to make notes to yourself visible in the background, the option of a calendar, music player displaying what you're listening to as well as a quick menu bar with shortcuts customisable to the internet, messages or whatever you wish. With only one port for usb-pc cable, phone to charger or hands free kit there are both pros and cons. The main one being that you cannot ... more

    Advantages Advantages functions, appearance

Disadvantages Disadvantages screen, battery and charging problems

This is the fifth Nokia phone I have purchased and I have to say it is the worse. In the last few years I feel the quality of Nokia Mobile Phones has decreased and I have experienced many problems with my last two phones. I bought this phone because I thought it would be easy to use and it is. The design and functutions of the phone are good and it easy to make call and sent texts as well as more complicated operations such as take photos and access the internet. The phone looks good and is very thin so can fit in small handbags and is on an average weight for a mobile phone. the camera and ... more

Advantages Advantages Very stylish mobile phone

Disadvantages Disadvantages Technology is not at all modern

The Nokia 6500 Classic is exactly what it says on the tin, the design has returned to the original Nokia style but with a modern twist. A colleague of mine had this phone and as soon as I saw it I knew that I had to have it when I was next due an upgrade. The phone comes in two colours, black and bronze, I had the latter. It was so nice to see a handset that wasn't dull silver or a ridiculous metallic pink shade. The bronze stood out to me as a stylish option and went so well with Nokia's 'classic' design. The phone is quite long and slim and at first sight looks like it could potentially snap ... more

Advantages Advantages light weight and easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too small, poor quality, varied reception

I was given this phone as a gift. The phone in appearance is slim, smart and stylish. I have always got on really well with Nokia phones before and so was estatic to be given this as for simplicity Nokia's are always easy to use. As always with all my other Nokia's it is simple and easy to do great coloured screen and lots to do, however, the camera is of very poor quality although I am aware it is of only 2 megapixels any photo I have taken is awful. I thought that having a slim phone would be excellent as it would fit well into my pocket and not be too bulky but again I was disappointed ... more

Advantages Advantages it's slim and very light

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit fragile, screen and keypad had to be replaced

I got this on saturday as an upgrade, if you are a vodafone customer this is currently available as an upgrade provided you qualify. It is extremely slim, but has the classic (well for the last couple of years) menu of features. The main menue has 10 features - My items - this includes your images, video clips, music files, themes, graphics, tones, recordings, received files, web- this includes access to the mobile internet, and bookmarks, etc media - this is where you access the camera and video features, and the music player and voice recorder. The camera is operated from here rather than from a ... more

Advantages Advantages small, nice, simple, Nokia OS, reliable

Disadvantages Disadvantages dodgy usb link + charger, short battery life

After a variety of experiences with other manufacturers, such as Sony Ericsson, and Samsung, I decided to return to the mother of al phone makers Nokia. The 6500 classic seemed to fit the bill, looking great with a variety of features and a camera, and above all it easily passed my key test; Would it fit in the pill pocket of my trousers? It slipped in nice and easy, and was always discretely to hand. The case has stayed great looking over the years, even though it has taken a pounding from my propensity to drop phones, the only damage it has suffered is from the very top of the phone, where ... more

Advantages Advantages Sleek design & ease of use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor Battery Life no video calling

The 6500 Classic is Nokia's thinnest phone so far, and is a stunningly beautiful phone too. It's easy to use and does just what I want from a phone - make calls, take pictures and play music. Supplied with 1 Gbyte of memory and a stereo headset, it's already equipped to go. The only thing that is really missing from this 3G phone is video calling. The battery life isn't brilliant but is better than a lot of other similar phones. The small keypad can take a little time to get used to aswell. The 6500 Clasic is extremely sleek with its aluminium casing ("individually polished", according to the ... more
