...the 7650. It?s the new nokia phone with the digital camera and the media messaging that is being heavily advertised, but is it any good and more importantly is it worth the heavy price? (About £200 on contract). O2 last month chose me to participate in some market research by giving 5 friends and me these phones for free so that they could get their hands on my opinion and judge for themselves and here it is. The phone itself is larger than any of ... ...Nokia 3210, although less heavy. At first going from an 8310 to a 7650 it seems heavy but after a couple of weeks of use it just seems the same. The size is understandable when you have a glance through the phone?s menu and have a look at the features. Firstly it has a very well lit, colour screen that is around 50% larger than other mobile phone screens then there is a hidden keypad, which slides out when needed and lastly on the reverse, covered ...

...mobiles now, and I've found Nokia to be consistently the best manufacturer to suit my needs, and always capable of providing a good quality, solid, reliable (ish), and extremely user friendly phone. How disappointed I find myself with Nokia's latest offering is incredible. Why I hear you ask - let me begin. The Nokia 6210 I was using previously was an excellent phone, solid, dependable, easy to use, but ultimately quite dull. After one and a half ... ...when I found out that Nokia designed the phone without provision for a data cable, meaning that a Bluetooth adapter for my PC would be required. A snip at a mere £65 quid (and even then, that's for a generic, non-Nokia approved item). Even more annoying (especially considering the bulk of the phone) is that the Bluetooth on the phone only supports data transfer. So no Bluetooth hands free kit then. Hurrah! All in all, I think I used the Bluetooth ...

...phone fires up with a nokia welcome screen, then asks for the lock code. (You may be able to bypass this, but I can't figure out how. If anyone knows please tell!) My hubby had it because the phone was on contract but I am a low value pay-as-you-goer and so I don't usually bother with lock codes.

The phone has too many features to fully list here, so I've concentrated on the ones I use.
MAKING CALLS
This is pretty straightforward using the searchable contacts list. Volume can be adjusted during the call.
TEXT MESSAGING
I find this a little clunky to get to, as you have to use the paperclip, then move the joystick to Messaging, then select inbox to read any new messages. It ...

...wisdom you pull out your Nokia 7650 so you can show the lads your catch. There the night ends. In the morning you wake up with a terrible hang over to find a picture on your phone of you with your tongue down the throat of a really very ugly women. What have you done?
The implications that this phone brings about are amazing. I mean you always have your phone with you, so therefore you always have your new camera with you. Bad move.
----====First ... ...Have you ever used a Nokia before? Chances are you have. If so, you know what the menu system is like (very easy to navigate and simple). This is no exception, however, because it is a much larger screen with full colour it is laid out in a slightly different way. All of the menu items are shown on screen for you to choose from. It has a four-way button that allows you to navigate the menu options, allow you to move up, down, left and right, and ...

Advantages: Solid standard phone features. Upgradeable software via Bluetooth. Good quality camera Disadvantages: Size too big for some. Occasional crashes. Questionable battery life
The Nokia 7650 comes direct from the latest crop of photo cameras aimed at the typical non-business customer. It is decidedly bigger than its rival, the 3650, clocking in at around 11cm long and 3cm thick. However, its looks ensure that this is not a mobile to be ashamed of; it has a certain charm and unique quality bereft form other similarly designed Nokia phones. Indeed, from the outset it looks a lot like a PDA, featuring a large and clear screen, ... ...a fiddly touch screen style interface are quickly forgotten though with a keypad that slides down, as immortalised in the film "The Matrix". Of course, this further adds to the phone's size, with it drawing comparisons to the dimensions of a regular house phone, but as this is only applicable when in use, it is not really an issue. The traditional phone functions are performed well, providing a clear line to both landlines and mobile numbers. The ...

Having had this phone now for about 2-3 weeks I thought it was time for me to share my opinions about it with you lot. Was going to do it a while ago but I felt I needed to learn about the phone and it features properly before doing so.
Right where do I start? Well I will start of with the one thing I don't like about the phone - the only thing I don't like about it actually...... It has to be size. It is quite a 'bulky' phone which can be annoying. ... ...I suppose it has to be this size due to taking the photographs.
Look Like?
It measures 10.5cm's x 5cm's when closed and when opened it measures 15cm's x 5cm. It has not got much thickness which is good. The phone itself is silver & black. On one side it has a button you can hold in to use the feature of voice activated dialling. On the pther side it has the button you press to turn the phone on and off. At the top of the phone we have a hole which ...

One of the comments from a Ciao member has asked about the screen visibility in bright light conditions: the Phone has a standard front-lit white screen and has a light sensor on the front, and a setting in the Display area of Settings, which I assume makes a difference to visibility in different lighting conditions. It doesn't seem to make a huge amount of difference, but the general ...

As a longstanding Nokia fan, I was delighted to discover this action-packed, fun-filled exciting phone was available, and, with enough internet searching, for free. Once the slow and tortuous ordering process was completed (not the fault of the phone), I awaited its arrival with baited breath. I was not disappointed. The screen is frankly out of this world, with ease of access to the menus using the joystick. I can send and receive messages, emails, ... ...photos, virtually does the shopping for you (I suspect it can, if you have the time and the patience), and only one minor glitch as far as I am concerned, I find the position of the keypad makes my hand cramp up after prolonged text messaging and game playing.
After that the problems began. Though the phone is beautiful, it is certainly temperamental. Initially the handset decided it was not compatible with my sim card, so every time anyone tried ...

Advantages: camera, games, wap, polyphonic ringtones Disadvantages: housebrick, avaliable in extra large sizes only!
I had my Nokia 7650 as a Christmas present in 2002, They had only recently came out.
This phone really is like a mini computer, it is jam packed with special features (and lots of normal features too!) I will start off by writing a list of good points about the phone:
ADVANTAGES
**********
* Colour screen
* Snake Ex
* Downloadable Games
* WAP
* Polyphonic Ringtones
* Infra Red
* Bluetooth
* Multi Media Messaging (mms)
* SMS
* Built in ... ...5000kb storage (see below)
The phone's memory has a capacity of 5000kb, you can use this how you wish, for example, you could use it all in the contact (phone book) and not have nothing to use elsewhere, such as in your images or games and ring tones. Obviously it is a good idea to use a fraction of it in each feature!!
DISADVANTAGES
*************
* Big
* Quite Ugly
* Heavy
* Your mates will want to keep playing with it
* Expensive

...to give opinion on this Nokia 7650 may kind of late now after so long of it's 1st release into the market. THE LOOK:
Overall, i do not think that this Nokia 7650 ... ...with slided down. (like the Nokia 7110 or 8910i)
so, the overall design of this phone is nice... except some "empty design space" at the buttom of the front cover, but it has nice color, high tech feel and kind of styles look. (if don't compare with those new model like 7200)
THE COLOR SCREEN:
Don't know i am correct or not, this should be Nokia 1st color phone for that time (other than the N9210 as communicator class) and i still think that N7650 ...

...months and I've owned a Nokia 7650 for just under a year! I was very impressed with it's functionality as well as it's superior menu system.
My phone fanaticsm leads me to be very critical and analytical when obtaining a new phone. Although my opinions may be personal I have had a list of top-class phones to form a good comparison.

The exterior of the phone was reasonably good looking but the size and bulk was a bit off-putting initially but you do get used to it.

...have owned some form of Nokia phone ever since the early 1990’s preferring their menu systems to any other make.
I did venture to Siemens and Motorola but, on returning to Nokia, found the phones so easy to use that I didn’t need the instructions to be able to find my way around.
