Doesn't live up to the hype
Review of Nokia 8800 by mirei

Advantages: Stylish; easy-to-use standard Nokia software
Disadvantages: Battery life; relative lack of features; price

...mobile phone shop and the Nokia 8800 is definitely a phone that gets noticed. It looks a lot nicer than most other phones on the market, and these days comes advertised as "From FREE" on contract. As soon as people ask about it, though, there are a few reality checks: - The "FREE" price tag only comes with the highest tariffs, most people on a standard £30 per month price plan will pay more than £150 for the phone. Upgrades and SIM-free's will ... Read review

Wow - Wow - Wow - Wow - Wow
Review of Nokia 8800 by ladyboymondaytofriday

Advantages: large range of features - good build quality - great call reception - polyphonic and MP3 tones - built in radio - excellent picture quality and graphics - battery life
Disadvantages: price

I managed to destroy my Nokia 6111 and had to buy another mobile phone for personal use. I am part way through my contract so the opportunity to upgrade was not an option so it was a case of find a nice looking, cheap, reliable phone and quickly. I bought this phone from the Carphone Warehouse for £300 rationalising the price in my head by convincing myself I wouldn't buy another phone for at least 3 years and this time I would insure it against damage. Visually ... Read review

Nokia 8800, the journey continues
Review of Nokia 8800 by DMC1

Advantages: Looks the part and has a great TFT screen
Disadvantages: Expensive and lacks anything of special interest to warrant the price tag

After keeping hold of my Nokia 8310 for well over 12 months it sadly came to the end of its life recently after a trip round the washing machine and tumble dryer and after attempting to convince my daughter she needed a new phone (she is the source of all of my mobile phones) I had to bite the bullet and actually go out and part with some hard earned money. Choosing which phone to buy is an absolute nightmare. There are so many functions, gadgets ... Read review

Nokia 8800 : So stylish! So metallic!
Review of Nokia 8800 by londoniese

Advantages: Sleek and stylish and very slim, with a sliding keypad cover
Disadvantages: heavy, poor battery life

That's it my Nokia 6600 was on the verge of dying, I needed to use the loudspeaker when i was making a call because I could not hear a thing!! So I was due for an upgrade and I chose the Nokia 8800. If there's one thing I've learned it's that some people will always like shiny metal objects. Whether it's a pen, a toaster, a fridge, shiny and metal are good. I have a few metals things at home may be that's why I chose that phone.. Weighing in at ... Read review

Why you need this
Review of Nokia 8800 by h4moh4mo

Advantages: 2 Batteries bundled, Great screen, Sleek and Exclusive
Disadvantages: Poor battery life

:::The Nokia 8800: (revised) The predecessor of the 7000 series nokia mobiles, again focuses on the higher price range of the mobile market, featuring a good level of functionality but also with above average build quality. The popular 7000 series mean the 8800 has a lot to live up to. Ok, so everyone knows the 8800 has poor battery life, which is undoubtedly its main disadvantage. If you can live with this, then the 8800 and the lifestyle that ... Read review

A poor phone in a flash outfit
Review of Nokia 8800 by samhankinson

Advantages: Very aesthetically pleasing
Disadvantages: Poor features and easily marred case

Admittedly the Nokia 8800 is one of the best looking phones currently available. However, having used this phone, I have to say I am appalled by Nokia's effort this time; and being a very big Nokia fan this is something I have trouble saying. The Nokia 8800's main drawback is its camera. With such a flashy appearance and a price tag to go with it, you would expect the camera to be remotely useful and of good quality. This, however, is not the case. ... Read review

Wish I hadn't wasted my money........
Review of Nokia 8800 by hcjv6

Advantages: Sexy, slim and hardly anyone has one
Disadvantages: Expensive, very poor battery life

...was fed up of my nokia 7610 so thought why not splash out o a phone for once, after all, I normally put up with simple upgrades that have gone completely out of fashion after a month!!! So onto ebay it was and I managed to grab one for £350 which I thought was a bargain compared to what they normally went for, it was brand new boxed sealed so I was quite shocked when I went to turn it on and the screen flickered for about 10 seconds before anything ... Sexy, Silver, Slim and Stylish
Review of Nokia 8800 by fluffchillin

Advantages: unique, slim, sexy and stylish
Disadvantages: poor battery life compared to other Nokias

The new Nokia 8800 seems to be the latest, most fashionable phone and is in great demand considering the huge waiting lists in the mobile phone stores! I was lucky enough to get mine on a free upgrade through my network provider, only because they had charged me double on my phone bill and made mistakes on other occassions! Although I have been told by various phone stores that the 8800 is hard to find, and if you want one the best thing to do is ... Read review

That small object of desire
Review of Nokia 8800 by jm_williams31

Advantages: I don't think a small consumer product could look or feel any better,
Disadvantages: There are plenty but who cares

...with Orange and my new Nokia 8800. You have to be a pretty heavy mobile phone user to get this handset for free, I went for a orange with a £45 tariff with a good introductory minutes offer and paid £60 for the Nokia 8800, which I think was a good deal, somebody may have got a better one, but I think if you are interested in this phone this is a good benchmark for the inevitable haggling, don't go to the actual network retailers outlets as they ... Nokia 8800 - all about looks?
Review of Nokia 8800 by zomuru

Advantages: Fantastic feel and looks, crystal clear screen, unique, lots of accessories included
Disadvantages: Battery life is poor, only a 0.5 megapixel camera

...I have finally received a Nokia 8800. This is designed as the flagship model of Nokias new releases and it certainly looks the part. Even the box is smartly designed and gives you an idea of the effort that has gone into producing this phone. Nokia has aimed to produce a phone that stands out from the crowd, and at first glance it certainly does. The screen and stainless steel casing gleam and give the phone a feel of real quality. I have never ... Read review

Looks are they everything?
Review of Nokia 8800 by omdtr

Advantages: Looks Good and Makes Calls
Disadvantages: Not What You Think in All

I have had the Nokia 8800 for about 12 months and in all it does what a phone should, makes calls and receives them, but am I that vain they I chose a phone purley on looks??? Yes, I am that vain it looks great and people do comment on its style, but when you need Infa-red rather than or aswell as Bluetooth or want to run application it can start to become a pain. Small in its size and also in it's memory which you can't expand, you can't apply ... Read review

Review of Nokia 8800 by moe_toe

Advantages: Great phone with everything possible!
Disadvantages: Nuffin

Fantastic new release by nokia. It has everything you would ever want with a phone with the touch and the vision and also is real metal which is why it cost so much in the shops. Avery rare phone around nowadays so show off you stylish phone to the whole world with its glamour. Some features are: stainless steel and reinforced glass, SVGA camera, high resolution display, speed data transferring, Bluetooth and an FM radio and plus much more. Very ... Read review

Silver, Slick, Super - Nokia 8800
Review of Nokia 8800 by recreated

Advantages: Outstanding design, with rich selection of functions
Disadvantages: A bit on the heavy side, and expensive

The Nokia 8800 is no doubt an instant attraction to any eye beholding it. It's first high point is in its steel body giving it a lustre that is not a common feature with most other Nokia phones. Truth is, i only used this mobile phone for a short period of one week while trying out its features to decide if I was going to buy it off a friend. Needless to say, I felt no desire to return, asides from the fact that I couldn't afford it at the time ... Read review

Nice Phone, But It Could Be Better!
Review of Nokia 8800 by DanielGrant

Advantages: Sleek Look, Bright Clear Scree, Bluetooth Enabled & Very Functional
Disadvantages: Not A Huge Leap From Other Nokia's, Not As Durable As It Looks

...between other devices. Software wise, this Nokia doesn't actually have a great deal over other Nokia's below it. It still uses the same menu's, with the same calander and organiser, games, phone book etc etc. Overall, this is a good phone. It has a nice design, and its durable and nice to hold. However, there are better phones out there and given the price of this, I'd reccommend going for another model. ... Read review

A piece of steel
Review of Nokia 8800 by typer-z

Advantages: Nice elegant "expensive" look
Disadvantages: Poor battery life, simple functions, a little heavy.

...Yes, that bad. No wonder Nokia gives two batteries with the box. After a while I got sick of the phone and stopped using it for around two weeks. Then after I started to using it again as a spare phone, the battery, amazingly, lasted longer than the first time I used it. It can hold for a few days now. I'm not sure how that happened. Probably because I let the phone "rest"? Not sure. As for the ringtone, it sounds really nice and suits the phone too. ... Read review
