Just looking at Nokia 8850 you know instinctively that there is some very sophisticated technology inside. And you're right. But though there are a lot of new features in Nokia...
more...8850, Nokia never develops new technology for its own sake, but in order to make it easier for you to communicate. Just call out a name, and Nokia 8850 places the call for you. You can save 8 names in Nokia 8850 to be activated for voice dialing. Once the name and number are saved, you activate voice dialing with a long press on the "names" key. Say a name and Nokia 8850 starts dialing, confirming your choice by repeating it and showing the name and number on the display. With Nokia 8850 you can include pictures in your short messages. There are several default designs already installed in Nokia 8850, all of which are replaceable. Predictive text input makes it fast and easy to write messages on the keypad of Nokia 8850. The phone contains a built-in dictionary, with support for over ten major European languages. Each time you press a key Nokia 8850 compares the word you have written so far with the words in the database and selects the most likely word. So you can write by pressing one key per letter, instead of two or three as with an ordinary keypad. If there are several possible words, you choose a new one by pressing the star key. You can input new words and names into the database. Nokia 8850 has an infrared link for wireless communication with a compatible Nokia phone or a compatible PC or printer. And Nokia 8850 supports standard communications protocols. You can transfer, e.g. phone numbers with the infrared link between compatible phones. You can download new phone numbers and ringing tones over the air. And Nokia 8850 has a TTML browser, so you can receive new menu items to your phone making it easy to access services from the operator.

The sutdy of radiations found this to be the best
Review of Nokia 8850 by butler_sophie

Advantages: Features, charisma, style, lots of power tightly compace, and according to the scientists one of the safest phones out there
Disadvantages: cost

...human body. It found the Nokia 8850 to absorb the least with 0.22 watts per kilogram! With the Ericsson T28 a stangerring 6 time worse with 1.27!! So invest in more to recue the risk. The Nokia 8850 is he slickest phone on the market with everything you would expect from a nokia. The only issue that concerns me is that as of yet you cant purchase the handset on orange, for orange. However, a little word of advice to you orange users, it doesnt matter! ... Read review

Slick Looks, Performance to Match
Review of Nokia 8850 by GameCat

Advantages: Reliable, Attractive, Excellent Battery Life
Disadvantages: Slightly Small Buttons, No WAP

Before purchasing my Nokia 8850 handset I was using a Nokia 7110 (and you will be seeing a review of that shortly, and it won't be as kind) and I really needed to replace it. Enough about the 7110, I'll save that for its review, onto the 8850. The 8850 is a small handset, probably only three inches in length, though with the slider down it fits nicely between ear and mouth. The first thing you will notice about it is that it is a very pretty phone. ... Read review

Small Sexy Phone for the ladies
Review of Nokia 8850 by ordy

Advantages: Good size & functionality. Looks real hot!!
Disadvantages: Keys very small

...sexy phone. I have had a Nokia 8850 for a year now. I was so impressed that soon after I got mine I bought another for my girlfriend. Since then Nokia have brought out the 8890, a triband phone (which means you can use it in the USA as well as Europe) which tends to costs an extra 50 quid or so. Here is why I like it my 8850 so much :- 1. Size. The 8850 weighs on 91 g, and is 100 x 44 x 17 mm in dimensions. This is very small and light compared ... Read review

Sleek, Stylish, Hot
Review of Nokia 8850 by Paulwt

Advantages: Stylish, infrared and modem built in.
Disadvantages: Expensive and becomes very hot after extended use.

The Nokia 8850 remains Nokia's premier phone along with its sister the 8890 which is the same phone but with Tri-band functionality meaning that you can use it in the US. The 8850 itself is Dual-band so it work on all major networks in the UK (Vodaphone, Cellnet, Orange, One2One). The 8850 is encased in a sleek brushed aluminium casing with silver trim and has a black head sporting the Nokia logo. The keypad is accessible via a slider at the front ... Read review

LOOK AT THE PRICE OF THAT.....
Review of Nokia 8850 by wilsam00

Advantages: packed with features, style, reliability of brand.
Disadvantages: not for those with big fingers and durability could be improved

...phone section I found a Nokia 8850 for £177.00 boxed without a sim card and able to use the pay as you go network. On the value for money side of things I don’t believe that the Nokia 8850 is worth the £177.00 or not even the £250 odd retail price. You pay the extra hundred, as the style is top notch and up to very modern standards. Personally I think the Nokia 8210 is a better buy but to own one of these is much more than an advantage over ... Disadvantages: None I can think of ;-)

...best possible feature of the Nokia 8850 is the addition of voice dialling to the phonebook. The phone can store up to eight voice tags for the phonebook. The voice tags enable a number to be called from the phonebook by saying the voice tag added to the desired name and phone number. The voice tags are not language dependent and instead are dependent on the speaker’s voice. The tags are sensitive to the background noise, which is why they should ... Read review

Review of Nokia 8850 by AndyConnolly

Advantages: Size, look, amazing battery life, relative exclusiveness, range of features
Disadvantages: High Price, not available across all networks, backlit screen can be hard to read in partial light conditions

...supremely sexy unit. The Nokia design team certainly went to work with this one, and the finish on the phone is heaven, it's a pleasure to hold the phone. The only problem I personally have with the phone is the black plastic cover over the aeriel on the back of the handset. It detracts from the overall look of the handset, but is a necessary evil, if it was metal the aeriel wouldn't work! Talking of the aeriel, having it hidden inside the unit ... Read review

Advantages: Looks Very Neat
Disadvantages: No composer

The Nokia 8850 has got to be one of the best looking Nokia mobiles... the Nokia 8210 used to be my favourite mobile (looks wise) but now it's the Nokia 8850... The Nokia 8850 weighs a fairly light 91g, just a bit more than the 8210 which weighs 79g... It has a spring loaded cover... NEAT! I think this phones looks best silver... The Nokia 8850 has a bettery standby time of around 50/150 hours (min/max)... a talk time of around 180 mins (pretty ... Read review

Pretty but poor
Review of Nokia 8850 by Ruby

Advantages: Very chic looking
Disadvantages: Gets hot very easily

Features of the Nokia 8850 you can probably find everywhere else. This is a true and honest opinion regarding how good it is to really use! It's lightweight, and very chic. With a cool silver cover and nice background lighting, plus excellent functions, it may be considered a very useful phone. However, please bear in mind. I have used this phone several times, and not stupid enough to buy it considering the price you have to pay compared to other ... Read review

I am in love.......
Review of Nokia 8850 by Angelique

Advantages: in my opinion it is perfect in every way
Disadvantages: price

I got this phone as a replacement of 8810 and I loved it from the minute I got it. It is very light, compact and looks very stylish (well, in my opinion anyway). It also has more functions then the 8810 and the voice dialling feature is definitely a bonus. I also had a few problems with the battery getting loose on my 8810 and this one doesn't have this problem at all. The main drawback I think is the price (about £400) and also because it is so small ... Read review

Review of Nokia 8850 by cellnetsms

Advantages: looks cool

...phone I saw - the nokia 8110. This has many of the functions of its predecestor including slid on cover and inbuilt ariel. However, for the price you pay for it, is all this worth it? Unlike its predecesor this phone doesn't get covered with greasy finger prints and the slate gray cover actually protects it from that. It may not be the type of phone for big fingered people like me because the keys are so small. In addition, it is a phone that is easy ... Read review
