...through many phones, from the Nokia 3310 (those were the days!), to the phone I got just two months back - the BlackBerry Pearl 8110. They have all been on Pay as you Go, as I have never been allowed on Contract. However this month I was told that I could finally get a Pay Monthly phone! Well as you can imagine, I was ecstatic at this and immediately began browsing phones. Having only had the BlackBerry for a month or so, I had initially wanted another ... ...in the form of the Nokia E71 and as soon as I read about it, I knew it was the one for me. Once again I processed the order, and much to my surprise an email came through a few days later, telling me that the order had been successful and that my phone would be with me in a few days. I have never felt so relieved in all my life! After what seemed like forever, I picked up my new phone from the post office and rushed home. Sitting myself down, I carefully ...

Advantages: Packed with features, big and bright screen, astonishing battery life Disadvantages: Poor camera
The Nokia E71 is a Symbian-based Smartphone, with a full QWERTY keyboard. I've had this for three months now, which I feel is a sensible amount of time to be able to give a full informed opinion on how easy the phone is to live with.
I got this on contract with Orange through an online retailer (http://www.mobiles.co.uk), on a 24-month contract with £250 automatic cashback, for £40 per month, which gave me 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB ... ...but what about the phone itself?
First of all, personally I think it's a fantastic looking phone. The buttons are all neatly laid out (which is a must, with so many of them!), and despite the keypad buttons being small, it's easy to use, and even with sausage fingers like I have, I don't often hit a wrong key. The finish oozes quality as well, with a chrome-like finish which looks good. The only downside to this finish is that the back is quite ...

First thing, what caught my eye was outlook and the shape. It's so thin and surprisingly comfortable to hold. But as soon occurred first dearth, phone was so slick and almost felled of my hand, and also other dearth, after I touched phone, all my fingerprints stayed onto phone, and phone looked out pretty dirty. Keyboard was one main reason, why I bought that phone, full measure keyboard and It's really easy to use it. Same keyboard as your computer ... ...it. But, still keyboard is really good and comfortable and It's really easy to use it, buttons are curved and It's really enjoyable to write messages.
As I said outlook is pretty good, beautiful cover and great keyboard, but I don't like size, I wear phones mainly in my trousers pocket, but It's too big for that.
Screen is pretty good, enough good to watch outside, sun don't annoy and contrast is enough good. Also screen cover is really good, I ...

...I decided to buy the Nokia E71. I had read many magazine articles which rated it as the Best Smartphone of 2008. I completely agree. When you first switch on the phone, the wizard guides you through the basic phone setup, and before you know it you've configured the wi-fi connection on the phone and are surfing the internet. The screen is big enough fr web browsing and sharp enough to watch movies. But after some time a bit of dust does get in under ... ...very fast, and the pre-installed Nokia Maps application is great for finding your way around new towns. A quick installation of Google Maps will give you world maps at your finger tips. This being a symbian phone, there are many free and pay-for applications out there to enhance the phone to your lifestyle. For the business user, the pre-installed QuickOffice is brilliant, allowing you to read and create Word, excell and powerpoint documents. There ...

Advantages: Looks Great, battery life is excellent, email and wi fi functions Disadvantages: no push email, menu graphics could look better
...What can I say? The Nokia E71 is all of these things. It's a solid mobile phone that looks great and does all the things it says on the tin. If I had to be negative on some points, then it would be that the menu and graphics could be more modern in their appearance and email needs to be synchronized. However on the whole the phone is excellent If you're looking for a sharp looking phone that you can use for business that won't let you down, then ...

This has meant that on numerous occassions my call has been cut off by moving from one room to another. The other problem is that the keys on the qwerty ...

Advantages: Easy to use, good battery life, fun Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet
My daughter got this phone first with 3 and then I (already with 3) upgraded to it. She has just gone to University and we get free calls to each other amongst other bits with the deal we got. My last two phones were Sony Ericsson so I was worried about getting used to this but I needn't have worried. I find the QWERTY keyboard makes texting a cinch. I settled in with this phone really quickly and I'm still finding things on it I didn't realise it ... ...I found it really easy to synchronise the phone with my PC and I chose what I wanted to synchronise. In my opinion, it takes a decent photo - while I like to have the benefit of a camera, I didn't get the phone for that purpose (I've got a camera for that!). The relatively big screen is great as my sight isn't getting any better as I get older. I find it comfortable to hold and comes with a sturdy cover. You have to take the phone out of it to use ...

E71 has an elegant style and very nice keypad. I can type very fast with it and also it has many great features that help me to communicate with my surroundings. I also adore the camera because it takes good pictures in dark places not like other cellphones so I can use it incase I forget to bring my digital camera. I was dubious about this phone, qwerty keyboard, small keys, wide phone. Well I'm glad I took a punt as this is a brilliant phone. Its less than 1cm thick so fits neatly in the pocket. ...have had. I've always liked Nokia but I think they have done a great job this time. It is very simple to use but has many features. The menu functions are easy to use and simply displayed although i think the shortcut options could be improved - sometimes you need to go through a number of pages to find the tool you are looking for. The address book is simple to use. It's real strength is with the internet option on it which is faster that any other phone I have had. This too is easy and straight-forward to use. I've even used the map and gprs functions, which are wonderful if lost. You can find your own location on a map and then the route to your destination. ...excitement that I received my Nokia E71 through the post after having been upgraded from my previous (terrible!) Sony-Ericsson. It was certainly a handsome phone, and I quickly found that setting up the phone was no harder than with any other such device. The only initial drawback I could see was that my fingers ... ...making it rather unsightly until wiped (again and again and again!). A very small issue indeed. I was rather proud of my new handheld, which drew admiring glances wherever it was seen, until 3 days later when it abruptly stopped working. No malfunctioning at all, it just turned itself off and then refused to come back on! My phone company, of course, replaced the handset with a new one, and for a while everything was fine and I assumed that it was ...
