Well I don't think anyone can argue that this phone doesn't look good, and it was certainly one of the reasons of which I purchased the phone in the first place. There was other reasons but ill go into them later on. Ok, so firstly ill go into the look of the product, the colour on the specification says its warm silver/brown. However when you get it in your hands it looks more like a black and dark silver/brown colour. Also the back panel of the phone has tiny speckles that reflect light and makes it look ever so stylish. This nokia has a 2.4 inch screen. This screen is great quality and is ... more

Advantages Advantages pretty, can do just about anything

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

Nokia have always been very favourite mobile phone producer. I deviated once from them in about 2001, but have otherwise been steadfastly loyal. I usually tend to go for the simple models. I'm not too bothered by gadgets, as long as I can call and text I'm happy. I was given this phone for my birthday and was a little scared to begin with. So many functions! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was easy to use, like all other nokia products that I have had. The instructions were clear but with a little bit of fiddling I think that most mobile phone users could work out how to ... more

Advantages Advantages functions, media, user friendly

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Video compatibility

I feel Nokia have been outclassed in the market over the past few years, and i have found myself becoming increasingly fond of sony ericsson, however without getting a full size PDA S/E do not do a phone with WI-FI (a key feature that attracted me to the N81) Having been a previous fan of nokia's in the days of the 3210 3310 etc... i was very keen to get my hands on my new phone..... i was not to be dissapointed, First thing about this handset is its striking looks, i honestly believe it is one of the best looking phones on the market. many people believe a phone with an operating system such ... more

Advantages Advantages Good user interface, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Feels like a cheap piece of plastic

I've had my Nokia N81 8GB for about 4 weeks now and I have to say it looks very good. User interface is very easy to use and self explanatory as you would normally find with Nokia phones. They are still one of the best manufacturers for this sort of thing on the market. Quality of sound is good. You will love the memory size; 8GB is enough for most needs that a typical phone is there to serve. At just 2 megapixels the camera is a little bit disappointing but the pictures that come out of it aren't that bad, so for me, this bit isn't that much of an issue. The battery life is alright although ... more

    4 Stars N81 Review 18/08/2009
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Never ashamed to get my phone out, sometimes I get it out even for no reason.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It takes a while to fully understand all the features.

When I was first looking for a new mobile phone, I needed one that looked the part, which offered the latest features, and one that I could easily use. The N81 was the answer to these problems. Not only that but it offers a huge 8GB of memory which was perfect for the amount of media I wanted the phone to have, My videos, music and gaming files. The sleek and stylish design with the sliding feature, allowed the phone to provide a key pad, which is much easier to use then touch screen technology. It looks professional and fashionable, I couldn’t want more in a phone as far as looks are ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish, easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rubbish camera, not very hard wearing.

I won my nokia off of a radio station, and I have to say, I was extremely impressed with the phone! Nokia have always been a reliable model to have, as they are simple and easy to use, but at the same time having lots of features. The N81 has brilliant memory; 8gb built in! This means you can store loads of texts, pictures, videos and music without the phone slowing down and taking ages to do anything, which I have had a big problem with before! It is simple and easy to use, despite having so many up-to-date features. It looks expensive and stylish, with a nice finish to the phone. One ... more

Advantages Advantages Huge amount of features, yet very simple.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Do not buy if you are looking for a small compact phone - this is not it.

I have always loved Nokia mobile phones because of their simplicity and ease of use. After looking at the instruction manual for this phone I began to get worried that using this phone could prove to be a lot more difficult than I would have hoped, however I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was incredibly easy. With the typical Nokia menu, and everything stored in folders, sub-folders etc. it was very simple. The looks of the phone were also a big turn on, because despite the size of it, it is still a very pretty phone. It has a very big screen, and a huge memory - a match made in ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great Media Facilities

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite Bulky

Intro The Nokia N81 is a slider phone having upper and lower panels of shiny plastic and metallic side panels with inbuilt double speakers. The upper panel of the slider has different sets of keys that allows you to access features like camera, music player and games without sliding out the keypad. The N81 is quite on the bulky side and is heavy as well. It has a macho look about and majority of the male users prefer using it more than the female counter part as female users prefer to use slim and smaller phones Media and Entertainment Package The N81 comes with a Mp3 player, visual radio, N ... more

Advantages Advantages Large Storage Space, Good Stereo Type Sound, Great for Playing Games

Disadvantages Disadvantages Navi Wheel, Camera (photo quality is not good), Non-Availabililty of Pencil Key

A nice phone but bit on a heavier side. Weighing 140 grams, while N-95 being 120 gm, do feel a bit on higher side. The phone has a 2.4 Inch LCD which again seems small as compared to N-95 (2.8 In). I like that the display is protected by another layer instead of just flat with the whole fascia. The sliding mechanism is firm, moves by itself with a nice snapping sound. Even though there's a lot of buttons in that part of the phone, Nokia does a great job illuminating only the necessary buttons depending on what you are using. For example, the music keys are dimmed and the gaming keys are off ... more

    4 Stars Quick review of Nokia N81 8GB by Level 1 Sweety72 30/11/2007
Impressed with the phone so far, really easy to navigate, lots of great functions including email, wap services, music player, camera, loads of storage space and easy to create folders. A little on the heavy side but to be expected for what the phone incorporates. Not too keen on the keypad though, one of the soft touch type and i've experienced problems with this type of keypad on other phones. All in all a gem of a phone with lots to explore.
