    I upgraded to the Nokia N85 approximately 6 months ago. I chose this phone based on numerous consumer reviews and after I managed to secure it for free on a tariff with Orange. LOOKS ---------- The Nokia N85 is mostly finished in a glossy 'piano' black with silver details. The sides of the phone are a matt black while the battery cover has a very subtle 'carbon fibre' pattern. This scheme looks great out of the box and remains scratch free after 6 months of not-too-careful handling and being dropped on the pavement once or twice!     I've had this phone for over a year now and i'm really in two minds whether i should upgrade for something better, as much as I love it there is certain things about the phone which really annoy me. Problems: The phone looks aright its not got the most desirable look but the materials the phone is made out of and the general design lacks any sort of quality. the phone seems to made of low quality plastics and when your paying £30 a month or £200+ payg this phone just isnt up to scratch.     NOKIA N85 THE LOOK AND FEEL I liked the look and feel of it straight away but still not as sexy looking as some of the new touch screen phones. I have just got the Nokia N97 and was quite disappointed at how plasticy the back felt as I was used to the smooth glossy look and feel of the N85. It seems as though Nokia have taken a step backwards on the overall feel of the phone when making the N97 which is bad considering the spec and capability of it.     when i first the heard that that n85 was about tobe released i was very happy!! i even liked the review that was available in some sites. but frankly when i saw the cell upclose and in my hands i was not at all satisfied. even though n95 8 gb is a really old set i would still prefer it than this one. the dual slide mechanism is very hard to use as it does not want to budge and the thing i was most disappointed about it was the lightings of the play/pause/rewind/forward buttons. it was dimly lit and made the handset look very cheap. even though the screen is so awesome i was not so happy with ... more

    I decided to write an honest review after 2 weeks with this phone. very nice design, not too big to sit in the pocket, not too small to watch videos. 2 way slider seems very efficient. the FM transmitter is a must have gadget. you can simply sit anywhere (house, car etc') and hear your favorite songs on the radio. the battery is capable of holding the transmission and the reception is quite good - of course the phone must be about 10 meters from the radio. pictures taken with the 5 mega-pixel camera is in good quality. the flash is strong and the dark photos are better than other cameras I've ... more

    Well N85 is a cool piece which suits many categories of people.This device has a dual slide mechanism.one end of the slide used for text messaging and some other general stuff which we do with a general mobile and the other end of the slide is used basically for music.This piece has more of the same features what the previous version(N95) had.But N85 comes at a really affordable price having the same features.     I own Black color N85 and i love it . I bought it when it was launched , way back in 2009.If you are a multimedia lover, it is the mobile you will like to always have with you. I dont like to sort my songs, so a mobile like N85 with 8gb memory is superb. Besides the sound quality is also pretty good. Photography is my vocation and i have experience with many camera's. So believe me when i say that the camera quality is awesome.They have a special Lcd and hence the images and the videos are displayed in nice colors.     The N85 isn't a major upgrade from the previous two N95 models, at least not in terms of features. But if you are looking to replace them with a more stylish handset, the N85 is the one.
