Advantages: Lots of features, Lots of Torque, Lots of Style Disadvantages: A bit tooooo powerful at times! People used to Technics may not like!
...how well does the flagship Numark Deck fair up against it's arc-enemy Technics 1210s? Very well in my opinion, infact better!
I bought these as my first decks and am very impressed. I have used technics before in the club I work in and in my opinion the Numark TTX1 rules the roost. Many believe the un-altered historical technology of the technics cannot be beaten, but times are changing as technology moves on and DJ's get more vigourous and adventurous ... ...for ripping (through analogue using Numark CS-1 stylus) and I can vouch that the sound is indeed crystal. The target-lamps are very bright, detachable and precisioned, again for accurate RPM rates.
These decks are also ready for battle mode! The pitch fader, LCD display and buttons can moved around to suit the position for DJs going head to head! This is also beneficial with the fact you can change the pitch fader easily if it were to become faulty. ...

...decks from a pair of Numark TT1650s....and wow what a decision!!
The first thing that hits you about these decks is their weight - they are heavy beasts. This certainally makes them feels the part. It might make moving them around a little more difficult, but its a small price to pay. The weight helps to keep them really stable a gives your vinyl a secure base to play on. The weight is mainly due to two reasons, firstly the steel casing which makes ... ...the highest torque I've come across. The higher the torque (for those of you that don't know) the higher the force needed to stop the platter (the circular base you put the vinyl on) from turning. This is important when mixing since you are always touching the record, and don't want the base below to stop turning each time you do.
This is probably the best feature with the decks, and may take some getting used to if, like me, you are used to a pair ...

Advantages: Loads of Features, very versatile, robust, reliable. Disadvantages: BPM lacks accuracy. spindle too short
...a pair of the new Numark TTX1's. At the time I new it was a risk but after almost two years of use I have never been more pleased with my decision. I will not bore you with the details of all the features you can find these in any other review you read. All I need to say is that they are robust, reliable simple to use and adaptable (the ability to swap the pitch slider with the buttons is pretty cool as is the choice of S-shaped or strait tone arm). ... ...started. I think Numark have taken turntable design into the 21st century with the TTX1's they are really trying to take DJ's to the next level. I am not good enough to appreciate everything the TTX1's have to offer but if you want to come up with new styles and sound and push the boundaries of what can be mixed together these are the tools you will need.
PS. Make sure you have a mixer with line in if you wan't to use all the features. ...

Advantages: THE POWER, THE FEATURES, THE BLUE DIGITAL DISPLAY Disadvantages: NO DUST COVER
What can I say well in a word I would say there GRRRRREAT if you're looking to start DJing or are a veteran club spinner if you haven't tried the TTX1 then your missing out. the torque is amazing the start up is quick from just pressing one of the two large start/stop button or from holding the vinyl in your hand ready to drop your next track into the mix. If you own a set of 1210's or any other turn table and you really really like them then DON'T ... ...old decks for a set of these. packed with loads of features like a BPM counter(works well but eh), platter speed (33, 45, 78), interchangeable tone arms (straight for scratch DJ and curved for good beat mixing), the digital display lets you see your pitch levels that are accurate to 1 decimal point so no more guessing on where to set your pitch (makes it easy for recording just write down the pitch level once you've got your beat mixed perfectly) ...
