I very rarely buy Nutella just for the simple reason that when I do I tend to find within a few days that the whole jar as disappeared. But having recently seen a large advertising campaign for the nutty chocolate spread then I got the urge to go and buy a jar to remind myself just how good it tastes. Nutella is made by the Italian company Ferrero, the same people who make the Ferrero Rocher chocolates. It is in fact Nutella that is the hazelnut filling found inside the chocolates. ~~~~~Price~~~~~ I paid £1.00 for a 400g jar of Nutella from Tesco's a few days ago, I think since the recent ... more

Why does everything that tastes divine come laden with calories? There is nothing better in life than sex, southern comfort, holby city and chocolate. Chocolate always comes with calories, the fake diet chocolate is revolting. A woman needs the strong stuff, especially when its every third week of the month! So if you haven't already met, let me introduce you to NUTELLA. Describe this pleasure in a pot …….. Well its dark, appealing with a rich hazelnut aroma. It's not very thick so needs a good stir before the initial tuck in. Even after a good stir with your teaspoon, finger or what ever else ... more

Chocolate and bread. My 2 favourite foods, and, handily, a jolly good combination too. There are lots of ways you can do this - in our Upper 3 (our name for 1st year of secondary school - don't ask) French text books we learnt how French children would take a piece of chocolate, insert it into the middle of their baguette and, voila, have their own pain au chocolat. Here in Germany you can buy thin slices of solid chocolate to put in sandwiches the way you might use a slice of meat or cheese. You can have rolls with chocolate chips in, or grate bars of Lindt over your toast. There are lots and ... more

I am not a great buyer of chocolate spreads that said it’s not that I don’t like them – rather because of the diet I’m on. However, I do indulge once or twice a year when temptation is failed to overcome. I ordered my jar along with some other shopping I had done online at Tesco. The price I paid was 96p for a 200g jar. Unpacking the shopping the first thing I was aware of was the shape of the jar. It was actually more like a glass, it had no usual lip to allow screwing of the top – rather the plastic top was simply slipped on. The jar seemed on the small size from what I remember when I ... more

Nutella. Hazelnut chocolate spread. We've all heard of this product, and probably all tasted it too. So why write an opinion on it? Because it's scrummy, that's why! History Nutella was created in the 1940's by Pietro Ferrero, a pastry maker and founder of the Ferrero Company. War rationing at the time meant that cocoa was in short supply, and chocolate was considered a delicacy, so Pietro Ferrero mixed cocoa with toasted hazelnuts, cocoa butter and vegetable oils to create an economical spread of chocolate. Simple? Genius? Either way, the success of which was unprecedented. In February 1946 ... more

I can't believe that I was the person who had to ask for this item to be added to Ciao! I would have thought that all the chocoholics out there would have already asked for this. But apparently, I was the first person to think of it, so here I am, telling you about Nutella. First of all, I don't have a jar of this with me, so I don't have the list of ingrediants for you. However, you can get all this information at http://www.nutellausa.com/info.htm if you're interested. Basically, this is a creamy spread is made mostly of cocoa, milk and hazelnuts. Of course, there are other things like sugar ... more

Advantages Advantages It's VERY nice. It's VERY versatile. Sometimes you get a free glass.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's NOT a utility item. It doesn't last long enough.

I'm moving next week. We're living in limbo, half-packed. We're going to live in a small village. For privacy's sake, let's call it The Back Of Beyond. The Back Of Beyond doesn't have a broadband or cable service yet - argh - and neither does it have a gas supply. And so I've just waved goodbye to my gas oven as it is now not only old, but surplus to requirements. It went into the skip with the rest of the household detritus. If it can't be slowcooked, microwaved, or eaten cold, then, for the next ten days, we Murphys ain't eating it. I'm a bit depressed. I do so hate microwaved food. Ooh ... more

I thought I owed Nutella a review seeing as it has given me 20 odd years of pure chocolaty bliss, so here goes! Nutella is a hazlenut chocolate spread which is made by Ferrero. Ferrero has been present in the UK since 1966 (but Nutella was created long before then) in which time they have manuractured popular products such as ferrero rocher, ferrero collection, Raffaello, tic tac and the whole kinder range. There are 3 different size Nutella's to choose from - 200g, 400g and 750g. They all come in recyclable transparent glass jars with plastic white lids. The first time you take the lid off ... more

I started buying 'Nutella' also known as 'Ferrero Nutella' not too long ago when a friend offered me a cup of tea with some toasted Belgian waffles with chocolate spread when I went to visit her. I found it very delicious and started to buy Belgian waffles and Nutella as an alternative to 'toast' for occassional cup of tea in the morning, afternoon or evenings. Nutella comes in a transparent glass or plastic jar (depending on the size you buy..) with a white opaque plastic cover. The jar has the word 'nutella' standing out in big clear red font so you will not miss it on the shelves. It ... more

NUTELLA CHOCOLATE & HAZELNUT SPREAD My household are all chocoholics. Not one of us would ever turn down a bar or box of chocolates, and our cupboards are always sure to have some chocolaty snack in it, whether it be chocolate bars, chocolate biscuits, chocolate ice cream, or chocolate custard doughnuts, you're always bound to find something. Chocolate spread is something that you will always probably be able to find in our cupboards as well. However the chocolate spreads that my mum tends to buy are perhaps Asda Smartprice or Tesco Value as she doesn't see any difference between these, and ... more
