    Delivery, failure to turn up and damage to our house Our delivery date was arranged and we had received telephone confirmation in the morning. 15 minutes before the end the day we received a call saying that the furniture would not be delivered. The result was a loss of days pay from work for no furniture with the inconvenience of having to take more annual leave to rearrange a second delivery date. 2nd delivery date 4 pieces of faulty and damaged furniture arrived along with the wrong mattress delivered- a cheaper mattress than what we had paid for!     We ordered almost £2000 worth of bedroom furniture. 3 of the 5 items arrived broken. When we called up the advisor told us that it was unreasonable for us to be unhappy because having broken furniture delivered was "like snow falling from the sky" and they couldn't do anything about it. I'm a solicitor, so I asked for the address for their legal department, to which I was told no, and that there was "no legal precedent" for me to be writing to them. I have to say this is the first time I've been lectured in the law of Scotland by a man who answers telephones for a furniture company. We then ... more

    We took delivery of a Tokyo chest of drawers and two matching bedside cabinets four days ago. The bedside cabinets were alright.. but the two top drawers of the chest of drawers were not. The routed grooves in the drawers did not line up, the top edges of the drawers were "binding" - meaning that if one was opened, the other opened as well and one of the drawer handles had no screw thread on it, so it could not be attached to the drawer front.     I decided to buy a new table at Oakfurnitureland store in Lakeside Thurrock as my existing table was looking a little tired. On the 30th December I ordered the above furniture and was really impressed to have it delivered a little over a week later. Two of the chairs had numerous faults catches in the leather and lumpy unholstery on seat of the chair. Called ofl & uploaded pictures. This took ages as 6 faults but couldn't attach all photos.     Disadvantages Disadvantages After sales is a disgrace

    We recently placed a large order of lounge and dining furniture from Oak Funiture Land. The show room was excellent, giving us useful advice but not hassling us. Their sales was excellent and delivery was within the promised timescale. Delivery was also excellent, keeping us well informed throughout. Delivery men were courteous and did their job well. However, as I unpacked the items there were one or two little quality issues. Most of them, I could live with. However, the sideboard had a big split down the whole side of it and the chest of drawers had clearly been dropped on one corner ... more

    March 2012 My wife and I saw the website for this company and liked the furniture they were advertising, so we went to our nearest store (Milton Keynes) and purchased a sideboard and dining table and chairs. The furniture is delivered by courier company and wil not wait for the items to be checked for any damage.On inspecting the furniture there was damage to one of the chairs and various problems with the sideboard (doors not fitting, warped,drawers twisted).     Made one and it will be the last purchase from these guys. Fell for the heavy TV advertising..and the result is the single worse delivery and product experience ever. We shop online alot and having moved house recently: receiving several, maybe a dozen deliveries...plus removers and having a carpet fitted. But none of those experiences did as such damage to our property as OFL. They managed to chip a line out off a wooden skirting board, stain the carpet and scuff the walls half a dozen times.     Wanting a solid oak dresser to match a table we already had we were tempted to order on line but desided to visit their Edinburgh Showroom, which is spacious and well set out, first. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful without pestering you. Prior to ordering they explained fully about delivery terms and conditions and the small amount of assembly needed. Two days later a very pleasant lady called and arranged a delivery time to suit us. This was,as promised, confirmed by email and text.     When a company provides excellent service from start to finish I have no hesitation in recommending it. From the time of order to delivery was less than a week. I received a promotional email for this company from ipoints. Usually I just go to the web site to get my 10 points but this time I was interested as I have been looking for a light oak nest of tables for months.     I bought a solid mahogany bookcase from this site back in early july. It has just been delivered in late september, though the site did state that delivery could take up to 16 weeks on this item. I did have some concerns due to a few reviews where quality was an issue. Now I have the product I have to say that it does look very nice. It is very solid and has nice lines, and it was shipped mostly assembled so I just had to slot the shelves in.
