Advantages: Great graphics with individual style. Involving gampelay. Great use of the Wii-mote. Disadvantages: Limited replay value. May not be to everyone's taste
Originally released for the PS2, Okami was a game that got somewhat lost at the time, in part due to the arrival of the PS3 and the dissolution of Clover Studio who developed it. However, it's been given a second chance with this new and improved version for the Wii; converted for Capcom by new developers Ready at Dawn. It's essentially a role playing adventure in the Zelda mould and, in common with Twilight Princess you also play the character of ... ...the individual elements of Okami are quite different. In particular, there's a truly unique control system in which you're required to draw brush strokes to perform certain actions; despite the game's origins on the PS2, this totally suits the Wii-mote which futher adds to the immersive nature of the game. As with most wii-mote gesture controls it takes a bit of practice though and it's relatively easy to mess up in the heat of the action, so younger ...

...have said that about. Okami sees you taking charge of a spiritual wolf named Amaterasu (a Japanese goddess) who is on a quest to rid the world of the evil Orochi- a seven headed dragon. You are armed with your athletic wolf ability and a celestial brush, which can be safely called the backbone of the entire game. GRAPHICS The entire game takes the cell shaded approach which is probably what throws people off the game. Though I am not a fan of cell ... ...but these graphics are a joy on the eyes. Everything is so beautifully drawn, you really cannot fault the graphics. The entire world is so gorgeous you find yourself restricting your wolf to just a walking pace to take in the rolling luscious landscapes and the sparkling trees, flowers and water formations. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: it's just gorgeous and the screen shots on the net or the back of the game box don't do it any justice. ...
