    Advantages Advantages natural, essential oils, effectively clears a blocked nose, mutliple uses, good value

    Disadvantages Disadvantages very strong scent, but that's the point really!

    Olbas Oil is an essential in my medicine kit and I have been using it since I was a child, I really couldn't be without it. I'm currently suffering with a hideous summer cold which has inspired me to write this review! In this form it is an inhalant decongestant and has various other uses, it is a multi-tasking product and works hard when you need to feel better. I bought this from boots at the cost of £3.99 for a 28ml bottle, and they also come in a smaller 15ml bottle for £2.93. The oil itself is a strong and effective blend of pure essential oils, and it contains only natural ingredients ... more

    I suffer from a chronic illness, for which I need to take medication which has quite severe side-effects. One of these unfortunate side-effects is that the drug suppresses my immune system. This leads to me catching a lot of bugs such as colds and flus, as well as infections and viruses. This year for example, I had managed to catch the cold a total of four times before the end of March which is something of a personal best! Because I get this type of bug so often, I tend to keep a stockpile of remedies and medications at home, to help me ward off the symptoms as soon as they appear. There are ... more

    ~~~ TIS THE THE SEASON TO BE SNIFFLY ~~~ Tis the season to be sniffly ... Tra-la la-la laa, la-la laa laaaaaa !!! That's right folks the number of shopping days left until Christmas is being hotly debated on mind-numbing daytime TV shows and whilst outside the Autumn scenery is pleasing to the eye it's also the time of the year that many of us start with the snuffles, sneezes, coughs and wheezes !!! In the supermarkets the B-B-Q stuff has been packed away and the medicine section seems to have suddenly become quite congested ... often by people suffering from congestion themselves !!! The ... more
    I have many weird and wonderful things in my medicine cabinet, among them is this "Olbas Oil", For as long as I can remember I have always had a bottle of this in my house. Olbas Oil Olbas oil is an inhalant decongestant, a combined mixture of clove oil, eucalyptus, juniper berry and cajuput, and together these fine plant oils release natural and soothing vapors, helping to bring relief to a blocked or stuffy nose. Olbas oil can be used in a number of different ways to help bring relief, including: A few drops in a bowl of hot water, can be used so the hot vapors can be inhaled, helping to ... more
    A few years ago when my daughter got RSV (a nasty viral infection in the chest and upper airways) she spent a lot of time with a very nasty snotty nose and gunky chest, even after she came out of hospital. Then my sister-in-law recommended we tried Olbas Oil. While it didn't really help with the RSV, its proved invaluable at helping during times when I've personally been very blocked up. ~~~The Range~~~ Olbas oil is part of a small range of products. These are : Olbas Oil inhalant decongestant Olbas Inhaler Olbas blackcurrant flavour sugar free pastilles Olbas Vapour rub Olbas Bath Olbas for ... more
    Introduction As a family we have sworn by Olbas Oil for years. For us its the best way to clear a blocked nose, catarrh or painful sinuses . Its safe so it can be used on all ages above 3 months old. My wife and I swear by this for our children. Indeed we are currently applying this daily to our childrens clothes and at night to their pillows to aid in a good nights sleep. Olbas oil is a natural decongestant. Its a mixture of pure plant oils. These give Olbas oil the unique scent and the power to clear the most blocked sinuses and noses! It has a strong menthol scent which is actually quite ... more
    Once upon a time, a young and fun loving 17 year old went to a nightclub with her cousin, who just also happened to be her best friend at the time. Unbeknown to the young, blonde and naïve 17 year-old (me!), the cousin had invited her boyfriend to join them, and just so the poor gullible young lassie (me again!) wouldn’t feel too left out, arranged for him to bring along a mate to keep her..er…erm….occupied! The blushing shy virginal blonde (that would be me again folks!) took one look at the cousin’s boyfriend’s mate and was smitten. He was tall, dark and very ... more
    Oh well, after just reading and commenting on a opinion by “YB69” about “Olbas oil”, a thought came to me, why not write my own opinion on the stuff, as I have used it enough times, so here goes FOLKS. Many, many moons ago (well not that many, actually), whilst I was a innocent little child (yes I used to be, not that you’d ever believe me LOL), I used to suffer from very severe nose blockages and catarrh (still do actually, but not as much), I used to try everything, including those horrible “Vicks vapour sticks” that you used to have to shove up your ... more
    As my daughter tends to suffer from constant colds and running noses I always like to keep a little bottle of Olbas Oil in my medicine cabinet. I hadn't realised just how useful this little bottle of oil can be! A Bit About The Oil Olbas Oil is a blend of essential oils which give off a pleasant and not too overpowering aroma to aid nasal congestion or a blocked nose. Unlike some decongestants with a strong menthol aroma Olbas Oil has a really nice, refreshing, herby smell, which instantly seems to clear congestion. The oil comes in a little glass bottle with a dropper top allowing you to use ... more
    My 3 year old daughter has had a runny nose and a cough on and off now for over 2 weeks. She goes to a day nursery and the children just keep passing the germs around. She has been fine during the day but every night just as she goes off to sleep she starts coughing. It is the same with all of us you manage your cold during the day but as soon as you lie down to go to sleep you can feel yourself getting congested. You cannot breathe properly, you get that tickle in the back of your throat and then the coughing starts. I started putting a couple of drops of Olbas oil on a tissue and then ... more
