...work AT ALL. However the Olympus D-380 changed my perspective entirely.
It look like a fairly stylish camera and it wasn't until recently that I found out that Olympus are a very popular brand name (their featured on Ferrari F1's overalls!) and I was curious to how popular they actually were. So my dad ended up buying two D-380's as we are going on holiday soon (sorry if I go on about it, I’m excited!) and we tested it out at a nearby sailing club, ... ...the marvel that is the Olympus D-380. There are also many many more things that you can do with it to record your most precious moments.
On the actual camera there are several buttons and switches to play around with and I shall explain each of them for you. First up is the lens barrier, which you open and close to turn it on and off. Then underneath this is the "Macro Lever" this allows you to get very close up shots on a certain object, for example, ...

Advantages: really easy to use Disadvantages: erm...you dont get a case with it
My little brother recently got a "fortune" for his birthday, well as far as a fourteen year old is concerned it was a fortune! Anyway, he decided he NEEDED a digital camera! Dixon's had a special offer on the D380, the price was reduced but i would say it would still be worth paying the full rrp for it. The camera is fantastic and even a dumb blonde like me can use it! It can store varying amounts of photos depending on what size memory card you ... ...special deal on larger ones if you buy at the same time as the camera) and what quality of photos you take. There is also a video facility which allows you to take a short video of about thirty seconds, again depending on which quality you are using. Whilst it is really easy to transfer the photos onto your pc and edit them on screen, you can also edit them on the screen on the back of the camera (forgot to mention that bit! there is a small screen ...

Advantages: Really easy to operate Disadvantages: quite bulky, no case given in purchase
I got this camera for xmas from my mum and dad. I am very very pleased with the results. With 2.0 megapixels, the quality of each photo is excellent. With the little viewing panel on the back, it is possible to take a picture looking at the panel, or using the normal eyepiece. Camera comes with an 8mb card which is capeable of holding up to some 30 odd pictures - all large sized. desired sixing of pictures can be changed at the click of a button, ... ...white, red eye remover, night-time photography, automatic flash (only flashes when it's needed) and ability to turn flash off. once you have taken a picture, you can then view it on the panel, and zoom in on it too. you can use the slideshow function to automatically run through all the pictures, and can also show you small thumbnails of each photo, making it easier to jump from photo to photo. It has a timer function too, which comes in handy to ...

Advantages: Easy to use. Economical on batteries. Disadvantages: Only 2 megapixels.
Firstly I should admit that I am not a highly technical person, so this review will be limited to my personal impressions of the camera and I will leave technical specifications to the experts. I have owned the camera for about 3 years. It was my first venture into digital photography. I use the camera mainly for taking photographs to display on my web sites, and for selling items on Ebay. The camera is very easy to use, being largely "point and ... ...intuitive to use, especially after you have tried it out a few times. One of the great advantages of a digital camera, is that you can feel free to snap away and experiment, without having to worry about wasting money on expensive processing charges. This means that you can become familiar with the controls much more quickly than might be the case with a non-digital version. In general the quality of photographs that it takes is very good. I take ...

Advantages: small, hard to crack, hard to scrath very durable, lightweight Disadvantages: none found as of yet.
Bought the camera when brand new, never broken, so easy to use and one of the 2 best cameras we have ever bought. In my opinion, for the price of the camera, there is nothing better. handy shape, fits in your pocket, durable.... well we've had ours for a very long time and as of yet no problems at all, dropped a lot and not cracked anywhere. these things can really take a beating, been on lots of roller coasters and obviously gets the little knocks ... ...there. Advantages: compact, lightweight, easy to use and great quality pics Disadvantages: Battery life can be limiting, before needing to recharge
The Olympus name is a great start with this camera - well known - quality without excessive cost. It really seems like you are getting value for money. I have owned this camera for over 12 months, and although my use is strictly as an amateur, I have found that with the software provided, I can produce pictures of a great standard, that i can be proud of.
Mechanically the camera has been faultless. The Software was easy to install, and is very easy ... ...photo editing packages.
Obviously this is not going to compete with the more impressive specifications on sale now, but that is well reflected in the price. For average use, ie: holidays, events, activities (indoor or outdoor) the 5x Zoom is all i need. I take pictures of local horse shows, and find it great to be able to take 10 pictures, one after the other, knowing that when i get home, i can make at least one of them look like the horse had ...
