Advantages: Good quality, easy to use and very small Disadvantages: Probably a bit dated now

The DM-1 caught my eye because of the following features:
Can be used as both a digital voice recorder and mp3 player (mp3 tracks can be sent from your PC to the voice recorder via a USB cable just like using any external drive)
Includes a 64 MB removable SmartMedia card. This can store up to 22 hours of dictation, and 1 hour of MP3/WMA music playback (at near ... ...that come with the recorder, Olympus DSS player 2000, and then connect the recorder to your PC with the USB cable. The recorder is then controlled though the software. The software shows 3 windows. One has what's on the recorder (divided into 3 folders as I've said before), one has what's on the PC (divided again into 3 folders) and the other shows the individual files in the selected folder, which can then be played, downloaded, or converted to ...

Advantages: Magnificent Sound Quality, Good Ergonomics (i.e generally comfortable to hold and use), Very light (about the weight of half a bag of pub nuts), 22 hours anc 10 minutes of recordings, Highly sensitive microphone, has a Variable Control Voice Actuator Disadvantages: Only displays 10 characters on the screen - so reading artist name and song is difficult, volume control button is small and fiddley, more of a voice recorder than an MP3 player (as I later found out, with only 60 minutes of music time)
...an aid, has purchased the Olympus D1, which may I warn to those unsuspecting consumers out there, is more primarilly used for sound recording than for mp3 playing.
This however has not stopped me stealing it from time to time as a jogging companion, which may i say is a very good companion, taking you away from the bustling drone from both the north easts streets, and Dubais streets.
This MP3 player has been marketed and designed toward the corporate ... ...and light weight of the Olympus DM 1.
The card itself has the ability to record a staggering 22 hours and 10 minutes of recordings. Now if that isnt a long time, I dont know what is.
However, the downside to this, is that it can only hold 60 minutes of MP3 Music files. As I mentioned previously, this has obviously been designed with the sound recordings being primarilly in mind.
