Advantages: Compact and fun to use, compatable with OM lenses with adapter. Disadvantages: quite a bit of noise at high isos.
...cameras.
it comes with olympus master, as well as a cd manual. olympus master is relatavely good, but i recommend using picasa2, which is supplied free by google. the main reason i switched to picasa is because a few months into having the camera, for whatever reason, olympus master lost me 400-500 photos, which i wasnt very pleased about, so i got picasa, and havent had any problems with that as yet.
all in all a great little camera, the porro-prism ...

Advantages: Good Images Disadvantages: Flash Connection
...with a 'point and shoot'. Olympus manufactures a good range of lenses and I chose the 14-45mm zoom, which is a good all-rounder. It's a bit slow at f3.5-f5.6, but the cost is on a par with similar offerings in the market place. There is also a wider 11-22mm zoom, 8mm fisheye and 50mm macro lens available. Olympus has also chosen to use its own flash-connection system rather than the industry standard five-pin Nikonos style, so my strobes wouldn't ... ...Back at home, I found that the camera requires you to load the supplied software onto your computer in order to download the images. Not wishing to have yet another camera's software cluttering up my hard drive, I chose to use a card reader and imported them without any problems. The image quality is good - not outstanding, but on a par with my previously owned Nikon D100. Considering the price tag, you get an excellent image for your money. Who ...

The picture quaity of this camera is amazing. The colour reroduction is vibrant even under difficult lighting As for ease of use, the title says it all. I had always wanted to get in to more serious amatuer photography and stumped up the courage with the E-300. This camera is as basic or functional as you wish to make it. Use one of the many presets and you can simply point and click or use the manual settings for more advanced work.
The camera ... ...with and comes with a full manual on the supplied cd for when you become more adventureous, which you will.
I have spent many a happy hour with this camera and have now got the photography bug in a big way. I've even suprised myself with the quality of the pictures. Therefore, I am recommending this camera and giving it top ratings.
With this camera, you really get what you are paying for and then some. ...

Advantages: 8 megapixel camera, Easy to use Disadvantages: Expensive
Wow, what can i possible say, THIS CAMERA IS AWESOME!
My dad purchased this item a while ago now and is still discovering new useul features. With its 8.0 million pixels you will be very impressed with the clarity and quality of the pictures. My dad is a very keen photographer but he doesn't get on wll with most new technologies but with the User-friendly menu plus full manual operation he finds it a breeze!
The battery lasts quite a long while ... ...depending on usage this can vary- as i say my dad uses it most days. Instead of using the cable which is rather slow my dad has opted to use a memory card reader ustilising the CompactFlash card supplied.
The case supplied with it is very strong and also waterproof- however my dad doesn;t want to try that feature!
All in all this is a top- notch camera but then again it is a top- notch price!
Thankyou for taking the time to read my review i trust ...

Advantages: EASY TO USE, EXCELLENT PACKAGE Disadvantages: Can't think of any
My husband bought me this camera for my birthday, and I just can't believe how good it is. This is my first digital SLR and I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't be able to cope with the complexity of an SLR. But it is absolutely brilliant. If you want to use it as a point and shoot camera, you can. If you want to us it as a semi-automatic SLR you can. If you want to use it as a totally manual SLR where you select all the features, white balance, focal ... ...make me nervous - you can. It has a pop up flash for when things are a bit dim. Or you can override the flash and select a more appropriate ISO setting. If you want to take a picture in black and white, or sepia tone, it's a simple touch of the odd button. There are so many features that I haven't uncovered them all yet.
When my husband bought this camera there was a special offer on whereby you got a 1 GB flash card, the camera, two lenses (one ...

Advantages: Lovely images images, superb construction. Disadvantages: Less convenient than a compact. Auto-white balance and metering occassionally incorrect.
It's a pity the E300 is no longer available, because I think it's a fantastic tool. I bought the E300 twin lens kit after my first digital camera, the discontinued Nikon Coolpix 4500 expired. Actually, that camera took some beautiful photographs and was incredibly versatile. It's only real fault was slow and somewhat unreliable autofocus. I guess I learned the basics of photography with it.
The E300, however, was a real revalation: instant focusing, ... ...and truly stunning images. I recently had a picture of my little boy printed at 32" by 24", and it's still pin sharp which says all you need to know about the capability of the 8Mpixel sensor. I really don't see the need for more pixels than this. True, you need to learn how to use the camera to get that kind of performance from the lenses every time. But I really do get very few duds.
Battery life is amazing too. ...
