    Advantages Advantages Lots of stuff

Disadvantages Disadvantages when you want to record a video sometimes it gets blurry

Welcome to my review about Olympus E-410, this is a very good camera for taking photos and stuff. In this review, you will find the information about the camera, my experience, the accessories of the camera and many more. The information about the camera Light and compact with Live View (this is good that it is light , so if i gave it to a baby would it fall from his/her hand? Try doing that and you will see, but don't give it to a new born baby, it would definitely fall, OK just try.). 10 Megapixel Live MOS sensor (now there are like twelve Megapixel so it isn't that good but when you take a ... more

Advantages Advantages Light, compact and jam packed full of options and features.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some experience needed to get use of all the functions!

This is my first review in a long while so bare with me folks I might be a bit rusty. As a keen amateur photographer and having just returned from a three day photography course using the Olympus E-410 I thought it would be a perfect time to write about it whilst it is still fresh in my mind. The first thing that struck me about this DSLR camera was the light weight and the fact that it actually felt more like a compact digital than the professional DSLR that it is. Often amateur photographers tend to stick to top of the range compacts rather than venture into the world of DSLR because of the ... more

Advantages Advantages weight, all the cables you need, battery life, lenses quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages editing software needs to be purchased

I bought this beauty over a year now, Shouldn't be surprised as it is an Olympus and this should tell all. It comes as a two lenses package, 14-42 and 40-150. As usual Zuiko lenses are on the top quality, excellent light rating 3.5-3.6 and 4-5.6 respectively. Extensive menus that will take you some time to get used to and to explore. Once you get the grip on the settings and how to use them to your way, these menus will become intuitive and easier to use as everything is on its place. You can save the pictures, on jpeg SQ, HQ, SHQ and on ORF as RAW. You have still the option for RAW + SQ which ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, Light, Inexpensive, Easy menus and options

Disadvantages Disadvantages Manual/Auto focus switching is awkward and can not accommodate macro rings

One of the first things you notice about the Olympus E-410 is that it is not much bigger or heavier than some zoom cameras, being dwarfed by the Canon EOS 50D that I have purchased since. The body measures 130mm x 91mm x 53mm and wieghs in at around 420g (including battery), making it the smallest, lightest digital SLR at the time of release. This has obvious advantages when carrying and holding the camera for handheld shots, which was great for a newcomer, but some seasoned Canon or Nikon users might find it a little too small - especially those who are used to grip attachments. My kit came ... more

Advantages Advantages Fantastic quality photos, lighter than most SLR's, good value for money, long battery life.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Little complex out of auto focus mode.

This is my first SLR camera, i got it bundled with 2 lenses wich makes it brilliant value for money considering a lens is anything from £100 by itself! I have always used a point and click camera - which dont get me wrong is great for a quick snap, but i was fed up with taking a photo of a beautiful landscape or a close up or a flower and discovering that the photo didnt look anything near as spectacular as the real thing. this is where the E410 shines, the colour are so crisp and the sharpness and quality of the picture is fantastic. It is pretty simple to use but as with most SLR's gives you ... more

Advantages Advantages Light weight for a dSLR; excellent image quality.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fiddly to operate while wearing mountaineering gloves!

I've owned an Olympus E410 for a year now. When I got it I was very impressed with the compact size, light weight and capabilities. I found it easy to use, straight out of the box, for taking basic shots. Sometimes I got stuck in the menus when trying to do something different, and had to refer to the printed guide book, finding it easy to find the relevant information. Later, I sat down down and read through the manual with the camera in hand, soon getting to grips with all the features I wanted to use. Connecting the camera to my laptop via the bundled Olympus Master software, I was pleased ... more

Advantages Advantages Lightweight , fun to use , Great Picture quality , endless range of functions , well priced

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can Take a While to understand all of the functions

After using a compact digital cameras for a 5 years, I decided to update to a more professional slr camera for college, and while looking around, the OLYMPUS E410 certainly stood out for me. It is very light weight compared to all the other SLR's and a pleasure to use , as well as being comfortable to hold , unlike some of the more bulky SLR's. Upgrading from a compact digital camera to the E410 has been much easier , down to the "Live Function" that this camera has, so you can take shots through the LCD Screen , instead of just the view finder , which is an uncommon feature for allot of SLR ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Olympus E-410 by Lisabee84 09/10/2007
Earlier in the year I took this camera when I treated my fiance to the British Grand Prix. I was amazed at the clarity and the number of perfect pictures I managed to get of the F1 cars as they flew past. (Especially Lewis Hamilton!) Not being a professional photographer and not the best at reading the manual fully, I found the simple programme settings and changing the lens no problem. This nifty little camera is great value for money and in my opinion is up there as one of the leading olympus cameras. I would recommend this camera to somebody ... more

Advantages Advantages very reliable, easy to use, many settings

Disadvantages Disadvantages lenses can be expensive

I bought this camera about a year ago on ebay, for about £300 and i love it!! It is a great DSLR, very lightweight and easy to use for the amateur photographer. These cameras can be bought at very reasonable prices together with the lenses, however lens prices can vary and can also be very expensive bought by themselves, although i have seen lenses that will fit this camera much cheaper online. This camera takes XD and CF memory cards, these also can be quite cheap to buy online. I have taken lots of great pictures with this camera, it has lots of useful settings, easy to carry around i have ... more
