...day photography course using the Olympus E-410 I thought it would be a perfect time to write about it whilst it is still fresh in my mind.
The first thing that struck me about this DSLR camera was the light weight and the fact that it actually felt more like a compact digital than the professional DSLR that it is. Often amateur photographers tend to stick to top of the range compacts rather than venture into the world of DSLR because of the amount ... ...the ease of functions on a compact and also because they feel the DSLR`s tend to be heavy and bulky, well this DSLR puts all those fears to bed.
With the full functionality of the very best DSLR cameras and the light weight compact feel of a compact digital, this camera has the market cornered for me. I have recently purchased a new compact digital and a DSLR but I will be looking to change to this camera very soon.

...things you notice about the Olympus E-410 is that it is not much bigger or heavier than some zoom cameras, being dwarfed by the Canon EOS 50D that I have purchased since. The body measures 130mm x 91mm x 53mm and wieghs in at around 420g (including battery), making it the smallest, lightest digital SLR at the time of release. Unlike earlier Olympus cameras, the E-410 isn't fitted with a secondary sensor to handle Auto-focus when in Live View mode. Therefore, you either have to use the AEL/AFL button to Auto-focus or you have to push the button fully and trust the camera to Auto-focus correctly as it takes the picture. Either way, there is a penalty in terms of shutter-lag when shooting with Live View.

...surprised as it is an Olympus and this should tell all. It comes as a two lenses package, 14-42 and 40-150. As usual Zuiko lenses are on the top quality, excellent light rating 3.5-3.6 and 4-5.6 respectively. Extensive menus that will take you some time to get used to and to explore. Once you get the grip on the settings and how to use them to your way, these menus will become intuitive and easier to use as everything is on its place. You can save ... ...in ORF (ORF stands for Olympus Raw Format). Depending on the capacity of the cards you use and the software for editing you can choose from all of these formats. Remember when taking pictures what you want to do with them. If is just for small screen TV’s or your laptop/desktop and you don’t want to spend a little fortune on editing software, keep on Jpeg format and SHQ will make wonders. Advantages: Fantastic quality photos, lighter than most SLR's, good value for money, long battery life. Disadvantages: Little complex out of auto focus mode.
...pannorama you will need a Olympus XD M card. The only disadvantage is it can be a little fidaly getting into manual focus mode and the booklet although pretty helpful is still a pain to read. You do however get a DVD which will give you a basic introduction to SLR shooting which in my opinion didnt go into enough detail. Overall fantastic a camera which is perfect for a newbee, but you have to be interested to venture out of the auto focus mode. ...

Review of Olympus E-410
Advantages: Light weight for a dSLR; excellent image quality. Disadvantages: Fiddly to operate while wearing mountaineering gloves!
I've owned an Olympus E410 for a year now. When I got it I was very impressed with the compact size, light weight and capabilities. I found it easy to use, straight out of the box, for taking basic shots. Sometimes I got stuck in the menus when trying to do something different, and had to refer to the printed guide book, finding it easy to find the relevant information. Later, I sat down down and read through the manual with the camera in hand, soon ... ...my laptop via the bundled Olympus Master software, I was pleased to see the greatly improved clarity of enlargements over ones from my already good Olympus compact digital camera.
I am a keen hillwalkerand photographer, and the small size and light weight of the E410 suits me very well. It should suit others who want a good quality camera without the encumbrance of size and weight of other models.

...and while looking around, the OLYMPUS E410 certainly stood out for me. It is very light weight compared to all the other SLR's and a pleasure to use , as well as being comfortable to hold , unlike some of the more bulky SLR's.
Upgrading from a compact digital camera to the E410 has been much easier , down to the "Live Function" that this camera has, so you can take shots through the LCD Screen , instead of just the view finder , which is an uncommon ...

Quick review of Olympus E-410
Earlier in the year I took this camera when I treated my fiance to the British Grand Prix. I was amazed at the clarity and the number of perfect pictures I managed to get of the F1 cars as they flew past. (Especially Lewis Hamilton!)
Not being a professional photographer and not the best at reading the manual fully, I found the simple programme settings and changing the lens no problem.
This nifty little camera is great value for money and in my opinion is up there as one of the leading olympus cameras.
I would recommend this camera to somebody that wants a versatile camera that takes simple quality pictures without the need to spend hours reading a manual.
My top tip if you want to compare this camera with others to see if it's the right one for you is use this website to compare features. ...

Olympus still use Four Thirds technology to bring Olympus E-410 in the top level of SLR camera that make another SLR look like "as usual". E-410 is small and light, no like another Olympus. Control of E-410 is excellent with nice interface and we can make to operate this camera is very simple. Interface E410 is one of interface that should I give two thumps up cause it's easy to use and very fast, also very simple to compose object from it.
Another ... ...camera carefully. In a price, if we compare this camera with another SLR camera produced by canon, nikon etc, is more expensive. SLR's bundle 14-42mm lens has a range of lens shorter than the other. Olympus just give us 14-42mm lens, and I think it's too expensive for the price. ...

I bought this camera about a year ago on ebay, for about £300 and i love it!!
It is a great DSLR, very lightweight and easy to use for the amateur photographer. These cameras can be bought at very reasonable prices together with the lenses, however lens prices can vary and can also be very expensive bought by themselves, although i have seen lenses that will fit this camera much cheaper online. This camera takes XD and CF memory cards, these also ...

Advantages: size, zoom facilities. Disadvantages: easy to lose lens cap as no where to put it other than in pocket.
I bought this camera last year and i have found it to be a great purchase. i am a relative beginner but have found this camera easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. i found the zoom facilities to be excellent and the double lens package i bought has been very useful. the fact this camera has a viewing screen is also very useful as you can view your photos immediatly after taking and you can also flick between the screen and the view ...

I used this camera last time.
I never owned a camera, but I'm a photo enthusiast.

...retain fabulous image quality. the olympus E410 comes highly recommended in my opinion although if u are going to buy this camera i would most certainly advise on buying a dedicated flash gun too.
Since using the olympus E410 i have started to earn myself a little extra money on the side as a photographer, this camera really is that good. it's sturdy, light and reliable and for a sub £400 price tag you really cant go wrong here.

As a complete novice in the DSLR camera. I required something to shoot Silver Jewellery for my own use.
Previous camera was a Samsung S630, which was ok but just not up to the job for a top quality shot. The E-410 was excellent. Shot items in a lightbox with a cyan background. Got a good clean shot with accurate colours, minimal reflections. From switching on to a shot I was satisfied with, in less than an hour. This was with plenty of messing about.
... ...go high end compact or bottom end SLR. I think I made the right choice. Lots of options to learn but this camera still works fine for the novice.
The bigc1960 review is bang on. Shame I hadn't thought to check up on this first! If you want a good first DSLR camera, you could do far worse than this. Shop around though as prices can vary.
Beware, there are a few reviews on the web which show some issues about this camera and an underexposure issue. ...
