I bought this camera last week from Jessops. I had been looking for a new camera for a while. I wanted more then a compact but I didn't want an SLR. This camera fills that gap quite nicely. It takes excellent photo's and is easy to use. It ranges from point in click to being fully manual for more advanced users.

The Olympus SP-510 is a belter of a camera giving 25 different shooting modes for the inexperienced or beginner digital user allowing automatic compensation for varying light situations.
For anyone using photo editing software it also allows picture taking in camera raw mode.
The one drawback I have come across is the slow reaction to the shutter press and occasionally the auto focus gets it wrong, but overall, well worth the money.

In terms of value and features for money, the sp510 is probably the best camera in its class.
Ideal for someone looking to do more than just snapshots, but not wanting to fork out hundreds on a digital SLR, the sp510 is a so called bridge or prosumer camera that attempts to offer the best of both worlds.
