As many of you know, I am studying Speech and Language Sciences at Newcastle University. As part of the course we have to do a child study and record a language sample from the child. Our lecturer recommended that we should get our own voice recorder as the university has a limited number for loan and we will need it for other assignments too (including a phonetics assignment we are currently working on) I decided to buy one as I also use a voice ... ...I'm going to sleep. I went to see the technical support staff and the man I spoke to recommended this voice recorder.
Recording on this device is easy. You just press the record button and speak into the mic. There are two little built in mics at each side and when it is recording there is a bar displaying the amount of sound each mic is picking up. Advantages: SLIM LINE HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT Disadvantages: CAN BE A BIT TRICKY BECAUSE OF THE SIZE
This product was advised for me for professional use more than for fun but I feel it works just as good as an mp3 player as it does voice recorder. If you use one of these there is no need to be messing around with tapes. Just finish recording and it will create a new audio track that you can personally label. Once you have figured out how to this it becomes easy but it can seem a little complicated at first. It can be used to store files also so ... ...There is no software to use with the product so when linking it to the computer you can just transfer files straight on to it. It appears on my screen as external hard disk. I find it best to use when I'm on the train. It can sometime send you off to a world of your own and I have often found myself getting carried away and singing out loud on the train. OOOOPPPPS!!!
The instruction book is a little complicated and I found it best to just play about ...
