    There is only one reason why I bought my mobile phone from Onestopphoneshop... and that is the highly competitive price! I had been looking to buy the Nokia 6310i on contract for many months for as cheap as possible, which in my terms means free! However, ‘free’ on mobile phone company terms usually means having a monthly contract of at least £30. This is especially true for the Nokia 6310i.     It is all too often that I forget what a simple, yet superb, idea Ciao is. No, I’m not just spewing sycophantic praise to gain a better Premium Fund payout but instead revelling in my recent mobile phone purchase made cheap, easy and successful because of advice I gleaned from this very site.     Having duly completed their online purchasing form including entering my existing pay as you go number - so that it would be ported across, I duly took receipt of my new Sony Erricson K700i this week from onestopphoneshop.co.uk. On the site they offer free insurance with the phone - something I have never seen the point in as most domestic household insurance policies cover phones - but if it was free what the heck.     Scrolling through past reviews, lots of people appear to have had bad experiences with this company. Personally, I have experienced no problems with them, in fact I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new phone! ---The Website--- OK, so perhaps it isn't the best laid out website around, but all the information is there.     After my second Nokia 6110 on my Cellnet contract was nearing the end of its useful life (or quite possibly long past it) I decided to look into getting a new phone, and looked around the internet. The site is quite simple to use, there is an FAQ and some other information as to the company, how they make their phones cheap and why they only use Orange. You are quickly lead onto the tarrif chooser, which is a little cumbersome, IMO. It asks how many minutes of time peak / off peak etc you are likely to use then tries to match a suitable tarrif.     The good: Initial order arrived quickly. The deals (as advertised, without taking everything else into consideration) are quite good The Bad: Where do I even begin? The phone was faulty. When I sent it back I was told that the phone 'wasn't in stock' anymore and neither were the three other phones i offered as substitutes. It took me three weeks to get a replacement phone. Also, to claim back the cost of sending the faulty phone, I had to send back my Royal Mail bill which cost me another £1.     I ordered an iphone 4s which was delivered on time, good start. The phone said that it would take up to 24 hours to connect. I called the network provider after this time to find out what was going on and they had no record of me. One week, 4 hours of waiting on phones to customer services AND AN EMAIL WHICH SAYS RETURN THE PHONE AND WE WILL SEND YOU A NEW ONE later ... I have been told that I have to return the handset as it will never work. The contract that they offered me will never be live as the network provider wont agree to it.     Theonestopphoneshop, my dear old gran would have a heart attack is she saw that. A web and phone based mobile phone agent for orange, the web site is very flashy and easy to use, step one choose your tariff, there is tariff calculator that asks how many minutes you use on peak off peak etc. but I would reccommend browsing all available and choosing the one you like the look of best, especially as orange offer alternatives to all tariffs available on other networks.     I can't believe these people are allowed to continue trading because it seems to me that it's little more than a scam operation. Sure, you can select a phone from quite a wide range at prices that appear to be good, and they'll deliver it fairly quickly... and then the rip-off begins. Wanted to take advantage of the cash-back offer did you? Well you're more likely to be taken advantaged of. For example, let's look at what happens when you select a phone with a £170 cash-back offer... Phone arrives one day, claim form arrives another day.
