Advantages Advantages Cleans teeth well, reasonably inexpensive, rechargeable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of newer models have been made, needs a two pin charger

My dentist is an odd man. He once told me that, whilst chocolate was bad for my teeth, whisky neutralised the sugar so I should wash every Mars bar down with a wee dram. And, when a healthcare professional recommends something, who am I to argue? Apart from that quirk, he seems to be ageing in reverse. I've been a patient of his since I was a child and then he looked like the average middle-aged dentist: 'tache, salt and pepper hair and the kind of pallor one associates with working opposite a graveyard in rainy 'ol Belfast. Now, though, he positively radiates health and looks younger than I ... more

Advantages Advantages Good basic model. Holds charge well.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a long time to charge.

My wife had always wanted an electric toothbrush on the advice of her dentist, and so when we moved into our first house together, this was one of the things that we put on our “to buy” list. Around 5 years ago, and with money obviously tight, we decided to buy the Oral B Professional Care 500 Toothbrush. This particular toothbrush was my first experience with the joys of electric, and I was keen to see why so many dentists seem to be recommending them. We decided to go with Oral B as they are one of the most recognisable brands in the dental hygiene field and we felt it was one in which we ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheaper than other models, simple design and modes, good quality clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages Packaging is really tough and can not be re-used! Takes a long time to charge.

Braun Oral-B Professional Care 500 Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush This was the first electric toothbrush I ever purchased. My dentist advised me that you can get a better clean with an electric version, in contrast to the manual toothbrush. I am really lazy when it comes to flossing as well, so I thought this toothbrush would benefit my oral health. Obviously, having never used one before, I decided to get a cheap one, in case I didn’t get on with it. Orab B is an established brand that I had heard of, and it claims that it is the number one most dentist-recommended toothbrush worldwide ... more

Advantages Advantages does the job very well.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none for me.

When I flied from London to Beijing something wrong happened with my luggage and my Braun Oral-B Professional Care 6000 Toothbrush didn’t work. It was a disaster to people like me who care their teeth too seriously. So I immediately visited Amazon website. Then I found Braun Oral-B Professional Care 500 that was on sale for £22.45. Six weeks later when I came back I saw my Braun Oral-B Professional Care 500 at home. Packaging: Braun Oral-B Professional Care 500 comes in a polystyrene pack contained in a cardboard box. There are two brush heads, one brush handle, one charging unit and one usage ... more

Advantages Advantages Provides effective cleaning, two minute timer, leaves mouth feeling fresh & clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't last as long between charges as I'd like, full RRP is expensive

An electric toothbrush might not seem the most romantic of birthday presents but it was what I requested from my husband last year, as he asked for ideas for gifts. I'd read several positive reviews of toothbrushes from the Braun Oral-B Professional Care range and gave him specific instructions about which model to buy and where it was on offer at the time. True to form, he ignored my specifications and came back with this model, the Professional Care 500, saying it was 'better' than the one I had chosen. (In other words, it was slightly more expensive!) This toothbrush comes supplied with its ... more

Advantages Advantages Really does make my teeth look whiter

Disadvantages Disadvantages Is a bit pricey from some retailers.

I have always used a manual toothbrush and never really considered that there was the need for an electric one. I thought I would give it a go and with the summer holidays close I knew I would be drinking more red wine and black coffee than usual so I would need a bit of extra help to keep them white. Braun who produces Oral B products, is a company I always associate with good quality teeth care items so it was their range I looked there first. In the end I chose the Oral-B Professional Care 500 and while I can't comment on others I am glad I have this product. There are a number of things ... more

Advantages Advantages You can notice the different between a normal toothbrush and an electric

Disadvantages Disadvantages It doesn't come with an adapter or tell you one is needed.

For years I had heard people rave about electric toothbrushes being ten times better than normal, but in my opinion I just thought why pay some much for a toothbrush when you can buy disposable ones for so much cheaper and they do they same job as long as you put the effort in and brushed your teeth properly. Boy have I been disillusioned long enough, I gave in and in the January sales I began looking for a reasonably priced Electric toothbrush to test. ~~~~The Product~~~~ The Oral B Professional Care 500, electric toothbrush is very similar in design and colour to many Oral B electric ... more

Braun Oral-B Professional Care 500 I like to replace my toothbrush every six months as recommended by my dentist, whom I also visit every six months as I like to keep my teeth and gums healthy. At my age it is a worry about losing teeth as they won't be growing back but will just leave gaps so it pays to help keep them in good condition. I bought a Braun Oral-B Professional Care 500 for £19.99 at Lloyds chemist in town and this may seem like a large price to pay for a toothbrush but believe me it is worth it. I have had manual toothbrushes before and was always content to use them until one of ... more

Advantages Advantages Versatile in choice of brush and action. Displays are helpful. Easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wall display battery only lasts 3 months (a tiny fraction of normal clock life).

Having been disappointed with my earlier Braun Sonic Toothbrush (see another review), I took a chance on this one, and have been very pleased - particularly with the wall display that tells what is going on. There are three types of brush. One is like the old round Braun brush - so you can use these up if you have them. Then there is the Floss Action brush. This has little plastic paddles that scrape between the teeth. I have virtually stopped flossing now, but there was still very little plaque for the hygienist to remove at my last visit. There is also a "Polishing" head, which has a rubber ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good looking/feeling teeth

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrendous Packaging

After being fed up with a manual toothbrush I've had for the last few months at uni, I decided to invest in an electric toothbrush after previously using them before as I found, my teeth felt and looked cleaner. After reading a few reviews on the whole Oral B range on amazon, not only were the ratings good, but the amount of reviews were high indicating they must be quite a good seller. I bought mine from boots for about £25 and it was the most basic of the Oral B range. The information on the packaging was good and concise and accurate of what I have bought. On the navy blue box was a picture ... more
