Advantages Advantages Its depends on your needs, but id say reliabilty and assistance

Disadvantages Disadvantages cost, if there is any see above

There are many pros and cons to insurance, and half the time you will find you wont need it ever. Its one of those things in life that if you dont get it, the law (you know the one I mean that tends to effect me more the most!) will come into application! With Orange contracts, here comes the confusing bit!!!- with orange original tariffs such as Talk60, everyday 50. There standards tariffs they give you free insurance for the year - except for the boxed and ready accounts and the OVP price plans (the ones where you price match onto the ornage network like anytime60 (one 2 one) or virgin etc ... more

Advantages Advantages all round cover, easy to claim

Disadvantages Disadvantages occasional dificulties on technicalities but thats normal with insurance

I have to say the insurance does seem very good. You have the option of taking out insurance on both your pay as you go and pay monthly handsets and sim. Pay as you go is £50 a year and pay monthly starts at £5 a month with it lessening each year you continue until you are down to the lowest amount a mere £2.50 a month. You are covered for lost, stolen, damaged and faults on the handset and sim. Your battery is only insured for the initial 12 months warranty period and any other accessories are not covered. Manufacturers only offer a 12 months warranty on the handset and battery and their ... more

Advantages Advantages They replace your phone within 24 hours

Disadvantages Disadvantages It costs £6 a month but well worth it

I never used to bother with mobile phone insurance until I lost my phone on a drunken night out, and had to pay to get a new phone. So ever since then I have paid Orange £5 a month ( It has just gone up to £6) for the insurance, and to be fair I have used it a lot more than I thought I would. There have been several occasions where the phone has gone faulty through no fault of my own, so I have spoken to Orange and they will send a replacement phone within 24 hours which is fantastic, but you have to give them your old handset and they replace it with a brand new one. But there have also been ... more

    Advantages Advantages Save Money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ?????

I pondered over the which phone to get, which network to use for months, and when I had decided (Orange Everyday 50, Nokia 3210 because it was "free") I was then faced with the question of do I need insurance for the phone, and all advice offered was YES! But on further investigation I found the answer is no. As the phone, which I will only keep for a year anyway has a manufacturers warranty anyway, and you will find that popping into the carphone warehouse will soon remedy any problems with your phone for free as long as it is a fault. Then, reading my house insurance, I found I am covered ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Orange Insurance by TheRebe 19/11/2008
I was with orange care for about 3 years & had 2 phones replaced through them. I had never had the phone lost or stolen, so i can't comment on how easy it was to get a new one following this. But on both occasions the phone just stopped working, they'd send out someone the next day who took the old phone & replaced it with a new one. On the 2nd occasion I didn't evenhave to pay the £15 admin fee because i argued that the fault was due to the phone & nothing that i had done to it. ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Orange Insurance by Level 1 Magpie_10 07/08/2008
Orange really are fantastic - I'd just left the Carphone Warehouse where I was paying £25/quarter (£8.33/month) for their insurance, and got a great deal and phone direct from Orange complete with Orange Care at £6/month. A month later I spilt chocolate milk on my new Samsung Soul and wrecked it (at least I didn't lose it this time...). I called Orange up, told them what happened and they immediately arranged for a replacement to be sent out to me at home the next day. They even waived the usual £15 admin cost fee as it was the first time I ... more

    Advantages Advantages Everything

Disadvantages Disadvantages The £15 "admin" fee

I had my contract phones covered with Orange insurance for 3 years and in that space of time i had 2 phones replaced. 1 stolen, 1 damaged. On the occasion that my phone was stolen i had to pay a £15 admin fee which was probably the only pain with this cover. But on the 2nd occasion because the phone was damaged through no fault of my own they didn't ask this of me. The claim took about 10mins & once i'd given over all the information I always had my new phone with me within 1-2 working days & that was all for £5 a month on top of my bill. I wanted a Nokia N96 and Orange were charging alot. So ... more

Advantages Advantages free service on talk tarrifs

Disadvantages Disadvantages limited to some contracts

Orange insurance. I can not fault this, its free on the talk tariffs, and the service is great, you mobile phone will be replaced the next day. The customer services are quick, friendly and very helpful. They are good because they are less prone to false claims as they are they only UK network that are able to bar the phone and the sim. The insurance does not extend to some tariffs like the everyday 50, orange make it clear that it does not. They replace your phone with the same model, if that’s not available one higher. They leave no room for complaints. All in all orange free cover is one of ... more

Advantages Advantages If you need to be covered for everything and your house insurance does not cover you.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very expensive and in many cases unneccesary

I was buying a mobile phone in our local orange shop when I was asked wether or not I wannted orange insurance. I was lucky the woman survivng me new my Mum and therefore would not dare to feel she had ripped me off so she told me that my phone was covered under the particular type of house insurance my Mum had. I now live in student halls and am still covered by my Mums insurance. I reccommend that you check out what type of house insurance you have because some things on your phone may be covered and if you have a contract mobile the company will be very keen to keep you as they lose profit ... more

Advantages Advantages Next day delivery, Great friendly staff.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

I have been with Orange for about eight years, I never shop around for the best deals due to Orange insurance. I have had two replacement iPhones in the last year, both my fault with the first being water damaged and the second I dropped. Each time they replaced although not very happy (but not at all rude) just warned me that I must take reasonable care. If you lose or have your phone stolen then you will probably have to pay a £15 admin fee as there will be no phone sent back (I believe this may be to stop you selling the phone for parts) I have had many many replacement phones over the ... more
