Say hello to the E100

Advantages: All the functions you could ever need, high quality screen, high quality audio
Disadvantages: Poor battery life

...should be. This time Orange has got the formula for success perfect, and allows you to be productive whenever and wherever you are in the world. It’s a new generation; it’s the start of a revolution and the continual evolution of the mobile phone. It’s the notion that such a device could exist and yet be small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and light enough to carry around all day, which inspires and excites me at the same time. Its predecessor ...
...about that! We told Orange anything and everything that was wrong with the SPV…and demanded that they fix it. It seems like they’ve listened. Does it work though? Once again Orange, HTC and Microsoft have taken it a step further and turned the Smartphone market upside down. The E100 has hassle-free functionality and stunning, well-considered design that places it far ahead of the design curve and the competition. Building on the success of the ...

The Best and the Worst of Phones.

Advantages: Nice Screen, runs outlook, has solitaire! has IE! synchs with PC, and MSN Messenger!
Disadvantages: Battery life, response of buttons. Separate camera, lack of bluetooth.

...The SPV100 is branded an Orange phone and runs on Microsoft's Smartphone operating system, which is very similar to Windows Compact Edition seen on Palm size 'computers'. The phone comes boxed with a headphone / microphone hands free attachment, a phone attachment, a camera and PC synch cradle. I was first attracted by the SPV100s ability to send and receive email, and to synchronise with Outlook on my PC. Then I discovered that it also ran Internet ...

Bundled with some great software such as Solitaire, a compact edition Windows Media Player and a version of Outlook for emails, sms, and task management. The Phone also has a slot for SD cards, and comes with a 16Mb freebie filled with trial software. A 512Mb card ...

Perfect for business or pleasure

Advantages: Brilliant screen quality, very versatile, free games
Disadvantages: Quite big, lack of ringtones,

I recently bought the Orange SPV E100 just before the E200 came onto the market. For this reason it cost me £99.00 but this was dependent on the type of contract I chose. What you get in the huge box: The phone Battery Charger USB Cradle Handsfree headphones Camera Ugly cheap plastic leather imitation case ActivSync software for windows The phone is runs much like a small computer. The operationg system is Microsoft Windows Smartphone 2002. ...
...also use MSN messenger and orange email on the phone which is great for staying in touch. The phone is clearly marketed at a heavy business user and has all of the features a business user could need minus Bluetooth (buy the E200 if you want this). The calendar, alarms, ringtones, homescreens etc are all extremely unobtrusive. The best feature for business users has to be Orange Backup which allows you to send your contacts and other personal files ...

Advantages: screen, keypad, microphone, accessories
Disadvantages: some software flaws, slight battery issue

...just a tick. i think orange had cleared this issue from the SPV original- in which teh keyps were very close together. Well done Orange! Anyway, another interesting thing about this phone o this type of phone is te ability to use preety much any software you can find. currently i have Word, Powerpoint, Pdf file reader, Gameboy emulator, SNes emulator, Doom, Quake, Chess, and a great Windows Media player ( this comes built in) and a Beta Player- which ...

Mircosoft and Orange have defitely gone out of their way to make this. oh yeah, another impressive and clever tool this phone has is the homescreen. when u go to setting and homescreen., yopu can use any picture as you backgorund, and change the colour scheme. Moreover, from the internet, you can get homescreens of anything or anyone and transfer using teh USB Cradle. about the accessories...again a tremendous peice of equipment. teh ...

Great little phone, good mobile internet

Advantages: Looks great, good features, fairly easy to use.
Disadvantages: Costly, a little slow and lacks power to be effective

...now paid £120 on an orange contract. Firstly it is expensive to use if you are surfing and using all its features. Also you gave to pay for all extra features and games which again adds to the cost. It is also a bit slow to use in some apps and even locks sometimes requiring a battery removal. That said the internet is suprisingly easy to use. Don't expect full functionality, but you can view sites in basic form, way better than wap. Access hotmail ...
...is an update available from orange that sorts out a few issues. Makes it a bit faster, extends battery life (very good) etc. I have never actually signed up to the onboard orange or pop3 email as I have found sending and receiving data a tad expensive! Still if you have money to burn it is a very capable and useful device. Multimedia is especially good with the ability to play music, both to listen to and as a ring tone and movies etc. Extras include ...

Disadvantages: Easy of Use, (not).

I recently bought the Orange SPV E100, from eBay, it cost me just £99.00 I got: - The phone Battery Charger USB Cradle Handsfree headphones Camera plastic leather case ActivSync software for windows This phone islike a small computer. Orange SPV E100 Phone - Really cool

Advantages: internet based phone, lots of features
Disadvantages: short battery life and seperate camera attachment

This phone is better than most mobile phones for the following reasons: it has internet explorer giving you an internet web based phone the same as the internet on a computer. A large full colour screen for photos, pictures, videos and games. Forget polyphonic ringtones, this has quality hifi tones you can download which are CD quality (sounds really cool when the phone rings). You can either purchase games or download free games as pac-man and space ...

WOW WHAT A PHONE

Advantages: the speed of the applications
Disadvantages: the time it takes to BOOT up too slow

The design is rather more bulbous than its predecessor, especially in the now rounded side-buttons, which are a great improvement, but also in the speaker shape and the overall curves of the unit. Personally, we find it by no means unattractive. The silver-and-grey has been replaced by an odd silver-and-navy scheme; the navy plastic feels more durable than the grey, at least, and with its curves the E100 fits very nicely in the hand. The cosmetic ...
...the original has been shrunk to allow space for a newly generous keypad, while the main navigation and call buttons have been separated and changed in proportion. No complaints here in this regard. The biggest cosmetic change for general use is the replacement of the D-pad and separate action button with a 5-way joystick. This offers great responsiveness and good feedback, but we found our thumbs tended to slip a little, and so to some extend miss ...

So Juicy

Advantages: Microsoft Windows driven, soooo easy to synchronise
Disadvantages: Remember to charge it every day

This well thought out phone saves me hours everyday at work as it is MSWindows based and synchronisation is simple. Runs Microsoft Outlook, so no typing contacts into sim cards and no having to manage 2 diaries, just link to your PC and your diary and contacts synchronise. My phone was recently stolen - replacing my contacts and diary in the replacement phone took 1 minute to download from my PC, other Windows based programs I use on my phone were ...
...immediately aswell. On my non-windows based phone this would have easily been 2 days work. All these features mean that you are highly unlikely to need a PDA aswell as an SPV, less kit to carry or get stolen. As the phone is Windows based, you can also use it as a removable portable disk drive - it shows up in Windows explorer on your PC as a drive in it's own right so transferring photos or programs between your phone and pc is a drag and drop ...

E100

Advantages: Great phone, can do many things with it
Disadvantages: The plug in camera just dsent go :(

I am using the E100 at the moment and am finding this a great phone to work with. The large screen definatly helps. When you buy this it's like buying a little hand help PC.
