Advantages: Phone, PDA with keyboard, Camera, Camcorder, SatNav capable, Wifi, Touchscreen, MP3 Player, Video Call… Disadvantages: The name is boring
...of all the various designs Orange used the best colour and design scheme – Vodaphones version is ugly and boring grey. The M3100 has a sleek technological appearance with real metal ¾ frame to give it a cool robust look.
3) It has so many features to keep you happy – I love the way it takes tomtom software and that the camcorder/camera starts at the press of button (good for you civilian paparazzi ‘civirazzi’ out there)
Bad Points:
1) Orange call ... ...a contagious virus; I like HTC Hermes which a competitor called it but that still doesn’t conjure up the magnificence that this is.
2) Needed to get a 2gb microsd card – but they are so cheap nowadays. A 2gb card gives you over 2 hours of video and that’s with having all my tomtom software and maps on it.
[3) I like to physically touch the screen so I have to wipe my fingerprints off it all the time – I suppose this isn’t really a fault of the ...

Advantages: screen estate, connectivity, touchscreen Disadvantages: bluetooth settings, slow changing between apps
Got this on contract with Orange. Mostly, it has been a good phone, offering all the smartphone capabilities I need - wi-fi, Skype, Word, PDF etc BUT (-) I am now on my second handset as after 8 months or so, the first one started to freeze up continuously and I couldn't make or answer phone calls, or do anything with it as all I could see was a white screen. This wasn't always solved by rebooting so it went back. The second one occasionally exhibits ... ...move from one application to another. I thought it might be a firmware problem as I got the phone when it was very new on the market, but with it happening with the second handset too, I'm not so sure it has been resolved. Another minus is that it seems very difficult to change the default settings for bluetoothed files eg they go directly on to the handset memory, which most of the time is overfull anyway with all the applications now running on ...

Advantages: Gets the WOW factor from everyone i show it to, Shed loads of features, Disadvantages: Few minor Glitches, Can become unlocked in your pocket V easily
OMG!This is my fave phone by far. If you can work computers this thing is not complicated in the slightest and the touch screen means u can operate it with one hand. Packed with windows applications, i have college work saved on mine which is easily transferable to PC.
Lots of free hardware such as a spare stylus, and the complimentary headphones mean the SPV can easily replace your mp3, with the masterful windows media player.
Camera quality is ... ...image is much more impressive. Range of camera options from timed, to multiple pictures and frames.
Battery life is excellent considering the many windows that can be open at the same time, i ordered a spare battery from the manufacturer but its hardly ever needed, as the power save fuction allows the screen brightness to be toned down, as well as the volume and number of applications which all help preserve battery life.
Handy WINZIP means games ...

Advantages: A good size Pda Phone Disadvantages: Using the phone part can be tricky!
I have been a big fan of the spv range for quite sometime. Seemless connection via activsync to outlook means you can sync your contacts, e-mail and diary within minutes of getting it out the box.
It is a much better size to fit in hand and doesn't feel like a brick which many other pda phones in its class can feel like. The sliding keyboard is a good addition.
Good things about the phone is bright screen, a bit easier to make calls and you don't ... ...can load onto it. Bluetooth, Wifi and 3g also mean it can be used a a pocket web brouser. I've even used it with skype (VIOP) and made a few voice calls over the internet connection.
Bad things! Can fall over if you are running more then one app! Not so great if you want to put some sat nav software on it. Reciving calls is greatly improved and you can even see who's calling you (M5000 you had to lift the screen first). But making calls on the phone ...

...pocket PC applications. Orange have tinkered with the design of the home screen, which is a vast improvement on the built in windows layout, your main program categories have been moved to the side of the screen, so you can access most of the important features on the phone within 2 button presses using the jog dial. The phone performs very well, and voice quality has been greatly improved, battery performance has also been improved and with the ... ...believe this is te first of the SPV range to boast a 1.3M pixel camera along with a flash!
I mentioned one down side is the Internet button; simply, with this it can be easy to press if the M3100 is still on in your pocket, which of course may lead to small data charges for internet access, that said, it's not enough to put me off using it.
The memory slot does take Micro SD cards, so be aware that you won't be able to squeeze your SD, or Mini ...

Where should i start. Best keyboard ive seen on a smartphone as of yet, and plenty of other inputs available including handwriting recognition. The wifi is very useful not only for free internet surfing (not 3G) but also applications such as skype and msn messenger which can easily be installed seprately. I have found very few bugs on this device and i cant remember it ever crashing. The wifi does tend to eat up the battery but this can be rectified ... ...of some connection speed. The speed of the actual unit is good and can multitask well. External inputs such as expandable memory are good but no headphone socket is a downfall as the usb headphone provided are shocking. The shortcutkeys are plentiful and voice recognition is easily set up and surprisingly responsive. it does everything else you woul expect from a smartphone and can also be used as a wireless modem either via bluetooth or usb. Advantages: Excellent for business Disadvantages: Large and heavy but what would expect from such a good phone/pda
I use this phone for work and found that as i can access emails and have my calender updated while out the office I am constantly in touch!.
Although the phone may be a little oversized and heavy it is a must for all business users. The phone also includes version of excel, word and a pdf reader, essential to download any attachements received on email.
