Do NOT take no for an answer.

Advantages: Service Plans, Upgrading, Network Performance
Disadvantages: Customer Services, Customer Services and yes, Customer Services!

...I have been a loyal Orange customer for the past SIX years does not mean that this is going to be a glowing review, far from it. However, I will leave my reasons for that till a bit later on and explain how the company works, a bit about the service plans and the way they offer their phones and what they do to them. How can you get an Orange phone? ********************************* There are a few different options for this. Firstly, you can go ...
...very orange funnily enough) you have access to all of their range from the cheapest PAYG (pay as you go) phone, right through the range up to the most expensive models on a contract. The shops are quite nice, and most of them for some reason have a big fish tank full of, surprisingly enough, goldfish! As you open the door, there is a stand with the current issue of their sales brochure. Take it from me, pick one up as you are likely to be standing ...

Everybody's talkin' (and SMSing and emailing...)

Advantages: Excellent coverage, good range of tariffs and phones, good website
Disadvantages: Refusal to take responsibility for handsets.

...in my madness when choosing Orange as my mobile phone network supplier. I seem to recall that the nice salesperson in the Carphone Warehouse advised me when trying to pick and choose between a number of different Pay as You Go (PAYG) tariffs over the various networks that it would make sense given my planned limited usage to simply join the same network that most of my friends were on. That, as you might have guessed, was Orange. Back in those ...
...a nice Nokia 3210e on Orange PAYG for £99.99. I've been an Orange customer since then and in all that time, I've not had any major problems. Currently, Orange offers many different types of service plan for both PAYG and pay monthly customers. These can be found online at http://www.orange.co.uk/ and are laid out in an easy to read fashion. It's also worth noting that Orange also offers some exclusive online plans, too. I've no doubt that there's ...

Advantages: nice tariffs, excellent customer service most of the time, cheap calls
Disadvantages: customer service occasionally

...with Pay as you Go, Orange gives you flexibility. You can choose from a number of different options to make sure that you're paying for what is convenient for you, whether it be cheaper calls, with no peak and off-peak times, cheaper text messages, choosing your own peak and off-peak times or having fixed call rates all day....the possibilities are endless! There are currently three different service plans available, each of which are explained in detail below: YOUR PLAN: Basically, you choose bundles of talk time at a fixed charge, and bundles of text messages if you want them, and thus create your ideal package. £15.00 gets you 30 minutes of talktime a month, at any time during the day - the number of minutes ...

Simply Orange, Complicated - Forget It

Advantages: Good network coverage, reasonably priced tariffs
Disadvantages: They can't handle anything more complex than a straightforward new account

...The service provider would be Orange and the new phone, a Motorola Talkabout (T2288e). And a WAP phone, no less. Oh yes, sounds like a bargain and my old phone was chunky and outdated and a holiday would sure be good. I had a few requirements of my own however. My husband was already on Orange and had been for a few years. I was on BT Cellnet and had finished the tie-in period. But I wanted to keep my current phone number as firstly, it’s ...
...mobile number to my new Orange account. Great. So my next requirement was this: Hubby and I had previously decided that we should combine a mobile account to save money, or at the very least that we should both be on the same network. Again I was assured that this was no problem and yes he could also keep his number. His reasons were mainly due to the length of time that he’d had his previous phone, which meant that some of the buttons were ...

Don’t Just Talk About It…

Advantages: 3 different call-charge plans to suit different users, free talk-time when you register, 10% free talk time on £50+ top-ups
Disadvantages: Relatively expensive call and text charges, have to pay to use WAP

Currently Orange Pay As You Go offers three different distinctive call-charge plans that you can select from according to when you like to use your mobile and for how long. The three plans on offer are named (fairly self-explanatorily) ‘Fixed Rates All Day’, ‘Choose Your Own Off-Peak’ (formerly known as Just Talk Original but more comparison between the old and the new later) and ‘Talk and Save’ (a reincarnation of Just Talk Plus). So What Exactly ...

The Future's Bright...The Past Was Brighter

Advantages: 5 Free Texts a Day, £5 free talk time, a free beach bag if you're lucky!
Disadvantages: Used to cost £14.99 (one off-payment), now £19.99 a year, can't use them abroad

...£14.99? This was exactly what Orange were offering a year and a half ago when I got my phone (on Orange Pay as You Go) along with a surprise little black box for Christmas… This little black box was the home of my ‘Orange Out Here’ pack, one of its contents being a rather cool little black beach bag with the big Orange logo on one side (obviously the side not on show when I’m wearing it…he he) and c u L8r in suitably computerised looking writing ...

On the reverse is the girl who he was obviously supposed to be meeting who is, from the picture, clearly somewhere else, possibly somewhere in the country by the looks of the picture. There is also her text-messaged reply to him ‘I’m here’. Needless to say, this poster has remained lying in the little black box gathering dust, but it does serve, in my opinion, to illustrate the advantages of Orange Out ...

Are you prepared to Just Talk

Advantages: Sim card doesn't expire, competitive rates to landlines and other orange phones
Disadvantages: top up vouchers can be difficult to find.

...pre-paid tariff before changing to Orange Just Talk for my infrequent visits to Britain. Admittedly pre-paid would drive me bonkers if I had to use it the whole time as topping up seems to become the bane of someone’s life. The main reason for choosing the Orange Just Talk PAYG solution was the fact that the SIM card doesn’t ever expire, whereas with Genie PAYG I had to keep topping up the card monthly in order to keep my card active. Whilst it ...

The great thing with Just Talk Plus is that there is no peak and off peak time, so you don’t have to think about what time of day to call if you want to save money. The calling plan is very simple, With the first three minutes to landlines and other Orange phones being charged at 25p a minute (admittedly this is a lot more than my contract ...

Orange network in general

Advantages: Great contracts on offer, good reception, good service
Disadvantages: Not consistent waiting times when phoning cust services - can wait a while at peak times

I have been with the Orange network since owning my first mobile phone at the age of 16 (13 years ago) and (touch wood) I have encountered very little problems with them. At present my partner and I have both our mobile phones and our home broadband with Orange because we believe they offer good customer service as well as cost efficient prices. calling all text'a'holics.

Advantages: value
Disadvantages: none

I have been using the Orange Pay as You Go network for some time now. While browsing in the Orange shop I came across a package that seemed just to good to be true. The package was called the ‘Orange Out here’ package. As me curious to know everything I approached the desk and as expected treated with respect and approached with manor. The package costs £14.99, which I thought was brilliant value for money and a must for all text’a’holics’. ...

The box contains a card, which you will use to register to receive the £5 talktime, which is included in the £14.99. You register the card and that will automatically give you 5 FREE text messages per day. (I’m sure I receive 10 FREE but the Orange website says 5). In the box ...

Everyday 50 for 30p per day

Advantages: Everyday 50 for 30p/day
Disadvantages: You have 2 phone numbers.

I've been with Orange for about 2 years now and think their service is by far the best compared with other phone operators. I have friends on other networks and they're gradually changing over to Orange and I myself used to be with One2One. My original talk plan when I signed up was Everyday 50 which was exactly what I wanted. I was a student doing a one year placement in London and needed to use my phone during the evening. However, at the end of ...
...So I went into an Orange shop and asked about their cheapest tariff. I was told that if I joined the Virgin Value Plan then I wouldn't have to pay line rental and would be charged exactly the same as Virgin customers, plus I'd have the benefits of Orange (great customer helpline, good network coverage and www.orange.net). So that's what I did. As my 12 month contract had expired I didn't have to pay for the phone so transferring over was as simple ...

Advantages: Good payment scheme for low usage people like me
Disadvantages: Can be expensive if you put less than £50 on at a time.

In fact, whenever I have contacted Orange customer support they have been very helpful, even when I asked advice on carrying out an activity of which Orange disapprove - transferring my SIM card to a new phone. Who wants an Orange

Advantages: Free customer care on contract
Disadvantages: Choice of phones is somewhat limited

...am about to reveal. Orange offers a stupidly high number of tariffs. In fact, more than any other network. This is because of their value match policy, which means that if you like the look of another tariff on any UK network, they will let you have it on their network. Tariffs change or are updated frequently, information is available from their website, detailed at the end of this review. Personally I chose the Everyday 50 plan before it was ...
...calls every day to other Orange mobiles or non-premium-rate landlines (i.e. local rate and national rate are included). Off peak calls are available at nights after 7pm, mornings before 7am and all day on weekends. Text messages (SMS) are available at 10p each on my tariff although this is variable on the tariff chosen. This plan costs 50p per day, so the monthly charge depends on the number of days in the month (total cost between £14 and £15.50). ...

Advantages: 1825 text messages for a year working out at less than one pence!
Disadvantages: No rollover messages and you must have credit

...an offer on Ciao called Orange Out Here. After scanning the Orange website on several occasions without success I finally made a call to customer services who helped me out. Orange Out Here has now changed and is officially called Orange Text Saver. They also throw in £5 worth of free call time which means that you are paying £15 for the equivalent of 1825 text messages a year. One downfall of this offer is that the text messages do not rollover. So if you text 1 person on one day and nine the next you will end up paying for the extra four messages you sent on the second ...
