Advantages Advantages Amazing taste, fun to eat, best with milk

Disadvantages Disadvantages More-ish, sometimes difficult to find, nutrition

Oreo cookies have been around since 1912, where they were developed and produced in NYC, and ever since they've grown and spread to different countries around the world to be enjoyed by more and more people. And I can say that I'm definately one of those people! Firstly I'll start with the part that you may find the least important, but seeing as I'm writing a review on this cookie, I thought I should inform you of all the little facts, too! The Oreo cookie was first made back in 1912, by the company Nabisco. Originally it was supposed to be targeted for the British market. This was because ... more

I was browsing Sainsburys at the weekend when I came across the boxes of Oreo's. I haven't had these for ages, but remember buying them regularly a few years ago. An Oreo is a cookie style biscuit that derives from America back in the eartly 1900's. It's two chocolate cookies with a white cream filling. The history of an Oreo cookie is paired with stories of dunking in milk. I can't personally imagine myself doing that with these but they are delicious in their own right. I bought mine in a box containing four snack packs. This makes them perfect for the lunch box, if not a healthy option ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit too nice.

*Oreos* Oreo: a yummy chocolate flavoured sandwich biscuit. Great with milk! These biscuits are delicious! The only problem is you can eat too many at once! The original Oreo cookie was created in 1912 in New York City by Nabisco at one of their factories. The original purpose of creating the cookie was to target the British biscuit market as Nabisco thought that British biscuits were too boring! Even thought the makers originally made the biscuit for a foreign market, I don’t think they anticipated the success that it would have at home in the USA! It is one of the best known cookies in the ... more

Oreo Cookies.... I must have been living in a sealed cardboard box to have not tried these up until the other week! Why oh why did no one tell me how totally delicious they are. Apparently they are a very big thing in America having only come over this side of the water in relatively recent time. I have been thinking about trying them for ages but never seemed to pick them up in my shopping. However I was at work the other week when I noticed that someone had bought a big biscuit order in and this packet was among the masses. I thought about eating the biscuit the way the advert says but for ... more

Advantages Advantages Delicious dunked in milk

    Disadvantages Disadvantages There are none

"The kid'll eat the middle of an Oreo first and save the chocolate cookie outside for last." I'm sure most of you have never heard that little jingle before, but I grew up with it. This was the jingle used on the Nabisco advert for Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Biscuits, or as I like to call them, cookies. Oreo's are the number one selling cookie in the US and as proudly stated on the front of the box, they are the world's number one biscuit. They have been around since 1912 and continue to get more and more popular everyday. What is an Oreo, I hear you ask? Quite simply, they are a few bites of ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tasty and lovely.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too many in a packet.

One of my daughters went to America with a friend on holiday about 10 years ago, that is when my house was introduced to Oreo's. These are American biscuits that have had a massive impact on the UK. The Oreo is a biscuit with a similar design to a Jammie Dodger, it has two outer biscuits with a filling which is vanilla cream, and this is coloured white. The biscuits are dark brown and look chocolately, but they aren't. These biscuits are very rich in flavour. The biscuits have a very distinct flavour and while I struggle to describe the actual flavour other than it tastes like Oreo, I can tell ... more

Advantages Advantages Great taste and fun to eat

Disadvantages Disadvantages Contain a worryingly high amount of sat fat & sugar

Biscuits are a wonderful snack, if not for your waist line then they are for your taste buds, especially if they are chocolate. That's why I like Oreos so much. They're an extremely popular type of biscuit, they were originally an American brand but they are so popular that you find them on most Supermarket or convenience store shelves in the U.K as well. An Oreo is basically two pieces of chocolate biscuit sandwiches together with cream in the middle. I buy my packs from Tesco where they currently have an offer on until the 16/09/2008 where you can buy a pack of 14 for £0.49 rather than the ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages They make your tongue black!

I was in Tesco looking at the biscuits, and I didn't want something boring like a rich tea biscuit, but something that looked new, fun and exciting! I saw "Oreo's" and decided that THOSE looked nice! Overall Quality The "Oreo" itself, is a chocolate biscuit, sandwiched with vinilla. It's very clean, and isn't unhygenic like some foods, and is really nice. Value For Money I brought a single pack for about 59p which is good value, I got a "Snack Pack" box for £1.29. Product Package The package is clean and is made out of cardboard. You can recycle cardboard which is good for the enviroment! How ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages a moment on the lips...

A couple of months ago I shocked my work colleagues by telling them that I had never tried Oreo's! They were raving so much about how brilliant and tasty they were that I decided to buy my first packet. I decided on the original Oreo's with the vanilla cream centre. All I can say is 'wow' they are truly amazing and I became hooked!! A normal packet of Oreo's are packaged in a plastic sleeve like wrapper in a eye catching dark and turquoise blue. There is a picture of a oreo splashing into a glass of milk on the front. Each packet contains 154g and has the nutritional information for each ... more

Oreo’s is a cookie sandwich that is produced by Nabisco division of the Kraft foods. Oreo’s are of a sandwich design that consists of a white filling which is known as ‘cream’ or ‘crème’ sandwiched between two chocolate cookie pieces. A fact I found out about Oreo’s is that 491 billon Oreo’s have been sold since they were first introduced which makes them the best selling cookie of the 2oth century. Oreo’s were first developed and produced in 1912 which means this year will be their 100th birthday. The 100th birthday is shown on the Oreo website along with a gallery of Oreo moments, games and ... more
