    The Our Price chain of stores, were never the greatest place for finding music, however they were local and functional to a certain degree. However it recent years the stores have gone into rapid decline, becoming less and less a place to buy music and more and more a place to avoid if you have any real passion for music or films.     A Virgin store has recently replaced my local Our Price store. it's dynamic layout, interactive content and stylish presentation would ve usually highly attractive if it weren't for the fact that it has replaced a great store. My local Our Price it must be said wasn't the most attractive of environments and its constantly changing setup wasn't comparable to Virgin. It did however offer a hugely extensive supply of Cd's from Britney ro the Wu-Tang Clan was impressive and a competitive range of DVD's and videos meant that the small store was always packed with custom.     Oh my gosh, I still can't believe Our Price is still alive or should I say hanging on to the retail market by its fingernails! Ever since I was 12, I have watched this chainstore, being sucked into the pit of oblivion by the larger and more successful stores, like Virgin or HMV. But its not as if I should feel strong apathy for Our Price, as they really have not been able to cope in the market and should really think about shifting themselves off the public retail world!     Advantages Advantages It's always going to have popular music in stock

    Disadvantages Disadvantages It's massively overpriced, has a feeble range claustrophbic

    Can anyone tell me why people still shop for music at Our Price. HMV and Virgin are still vastly overpriced but compared to Our Price they are virtually giving cd's away. Surely anyone reading this must have access to the internet and therefore has access to any number of on line stores selling cd's and videos far cheaper than most high street stores. Our Price is a shop designed for people who want a quick and easy shopping experience and don't mind paying well over the odds.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Overpriced and Unhelpful

    I consciously try to avoid shops like these. They are geared for making the maximum profit for the minimum outlay and seem to be of the opinion that a visible high street presence gives them the right to charge what they want for what they sell. Don't get me wrong , everyone has to make a profit, but sometimes their profits are extortionate. HMV and Virgin are just as guilty. Why should I pay £15.99 for a CD or £19.99 for a DVD when local record shops sell the CDs for £11.99 and DVD for £14.99?     This used to be my favourite music store when I was in teens, I used to love it, because it was a music store and nothing else. The CD’s were organised in easy to find sections and you could look to find the CD you wanted until your heart’s content. It was a great store. You could buy cassettes, CD’s instantly and they had a really good stock. If they didn’t have anything in stock they could order it for you, and then the would ring you and you could come and collect it.     Some people seem to be under the impression that Our Price has just been taken over by Virgin when in fact they've been under the same roof for many years. In the past six months Our Price has undergone some interesting changes. Our local branch is now the best plave price wise if you intend to buy yor entertainment goods in two's. They seem to have adopted a marks and spencers poilcy where every price is rounded up to the nearest pound. I actually like this straight foward pricing. Their cd's aren't the best priced when bought on their own however thy have many deals going on most of the time ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages loads of sections so you might get lost, the prices are quite high compared to other music stores

    Our Price is quite expensive depending on the music, or whatever you are buying, but you will mostly find what you want, unless its a really old classic. They sell calenders, tapes, and there are listening booths positioned around the store. The new releases are always on sale here, but sometimes they charge more than other stores. The thing is, why do they need so many sections? You can hardly find where you are looking and what you are looking for. They have sections labelled, but some people dont know how to find the places, its really annoying. Apart from that our price is ok, but then ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Tiny selection, cramped, overpriced, dark and dismal

    Whose Price is Our Price? Its even more expensive than HMV and Virgin by at least a quid on albums! And their selection is tiny (their store in Bradford is at least half the size of HMV, probably smaller)!! The store is crampted but not with much music to show for it and the walls red and black, which make it closed in. Only go here if all the other shops in town are sold out of what you want - these MAY have it. What I can't understand is why so many people go in here, its all so crowded but that might just be because of the cramped layout and ony 1 of the 3 terminals being open. My advice ... more

    Our Price really have it all they stock all different kinds of music for music lovers of all tastes. I always check out the records,cds, tapes the lot. If they don't have what you are looking for they will order it for you and do their best to get it for you. I like to shop there the staff are friendly and so helpful. It is an excellent place to shop for Christmas gifts also vouchers are available if you don't know what sort or gift to select for that special someone. I recomend Our Price for good music and gift ideas. Get down and bougie at Our Price value for money that's what I tell my ... more
