...and even office furniture. PC World stores are dotted around the country with stores often located in retail parks so many of them are as big as supermarkets. I have most frequently visited the stores in Croydon, Catford, Charlton and Old Kent Road, with Croydon and Catford being the most frequent. They usually have their own car parks (depending on location) and there’s usually a fair number of spaces which is good, as I hate having to look for parking ...

...him why, and he said PC world don't sell Advent Calenders. Great.
I then finally found the laptop I wanted, so I approached a staff member and asked them to get me a boxed version, he then took me over to this little area, and proceded to lay the hard sell on me for insurance, it took 5 times for me to say that I didn't want insurance before he got the message.
Feeling a little stressed at this point, he dissappeared into the back to get said ...

Reserved a laptop to pick up which was a decent price on there site.
Drove there the next day to pick it up, it was a 10 mile drive, only to be told by the staff that it had gone up in price and that I would have to pay an extra £49.
'Hello, I reserved it for pick up?' Like your adverts say you use the reservation number to pick it up.
They refused to budge and insisted I pay the extra even though my email had the price I reserved it at. ...

Recently I visited the PC World in Brikenhead at the Rock Retail Park. The store was very good, e.g clean tidy. My only problem was that there was not enough staff working there i wished to purchase a Laptop with a budget of about £380. When i asked if they had the first laptop in stock the assistant went off into the back to have a look and came back saying they didnt have it in stock this happened again when I wanted another laptop. ...husband brought a computer from PC World just over a year ago now. It cost £399 which seemed like quite a good deal. It came with everything we needed and even had free Norton Spyware thrown in for a year. It was on Windows Vista and had all the latest software on it. We also bought a lot of accessories for it, the printer costing £200, a wireless mouse and keybour, a scanner/photocopier.
I'd like to say everything was perfect, we never had any ...

PC World? Never had a single problem in the store at all. bought an imac there, my brother in law got a nice toshiba laptop. The staff were very helpfull, one chap didnt know what i was talking about with apple, he got a guy that did, i respected his honesty and prefered that.
PC World is a good store and they fighting a losing battle like many retailers because of online shopping.
keep running your mouth off like that and we wont have many places to shop.
Cheers

I contacted PC World techguys and the lady (from the UK callcentre) was really helpful. She gave me a number to book it in for a health check at my local store. They also offered to pay for a recovery DVD from Packard Bell.
I did not have to wait for ages in a queue, my call was answered very quickly. very impressed ...

The members of the staff come always to see if you need help, but if the item you want is out of stock they do not offer to order one for you or to check for the next delivery. They do not want to sell the one in display or organize the transfer from another store.

PC World sprung to mind when I decided to move my computer further away from my cable modem. To do that I would need a much longer Ethernet cable and as PC World were only a mile or so down the road I decided to go see what they had to offer.
I was greeted at the door by a rather bored looking young man who shoved a free magazine under my nose which I duly took... something to browse through later.
After no luck finding what i was after I asked ...

After breaking my PC I decided it was time to get up with the times and buy a laptop.
I looked at a couple of places online before deciding to go to the High Street.

I bought an HP laptop from PC World in September 2007. It did not work properly from the first minute I switched it on, and is now practically unusable.
Having wrestled with PC World's customer support, The Tech Guys, for months without success I eventually decided to document the whole process to customer services.
So far, despite letters to the Chief Executive of DSG International plc (PC World's holding company), I have not had the laptop fixed or, what I would really like, a refund of my money.
I have reprinted the many emails I have had from PC World and the Tech Guys and can be read at www.pcworldletmedown.blogspot.com

I have been to PC world store about 10 times over 5 or so years. My experiences have been consistant however they may not be representative of the company. This review is based purly on my own experiences.
I have been building and repairing computers for friends and family for about 5 years, I needed a computer for university and couldn't afford a ready built one, so i had to teach myself what to do with a pile of componants to get a working computer. ...

In Dec 2007 I went to pick up my reserved TFT monitor from Ashford branch and noticed they raised the price by £55.
I told one of the staff members that when I ordered it online, it was £55 cheaper.
He told me the price had changed since yesterday and would get the manager. I had to wait 30 minutes for the bleeding muppet manager. I saw her go to have her tea break straight after she was told about my order by the gentleman serving me, useless ...
