Advantages: Large Building all Products Diplayed correctly
Disadvantages: Low on Stock and Un-helpful Staff

Recently I visited the PC World in Brikenhead at the Rock Retail Park. The store was very good, e.g clean tidy. My only problem was that there was not enough staff working there i wished to purchase a Laptop with a budget of about £380. ...not suggest a trip to pc world in basingstoke. Its the worse customer service i have ever known, and think they only make money with first time buyers as you get put off straight after if to use this store. my experience was i went to buy a pc at my local pc world in reading, they didnt have the one i wanted in stock but the chap was helpful and rang a local ish branch to see if they had it as it whoed on the screen they did. he rang them and ... ...husband brought a computer from PC World just over a year ago now. It cost £399 which seemed like quite a good deal. It came with everything we needed and even had free Norton Spyware thrown in for a year. It was on Windows Vista and had all the latest software on it. PC World? Never had a single problem in the store at all. bought an imac there, my brother in law got a nice toshiba laptop. The staff were very helpfull, one chap didnt know what i was talking about with apple, he got a guy that did, i respected his honesty and prefered that. PC World is a good store and they fighting a losing battle like many retailers because of online shopping. keep running your mouth off like that and we wont have many places to shop. Cheers

...DVD, I couldn't as the PC was under the impression I had already done this, and you can only do one copy I contacted PC World techguys and the lady (from the UK callcentre) was really helpful. She gave me a number to book it in for a health check at my local store. They also offered to pay for a recovery DVD from Packard Bell. I did not have to wait for ages in a queue, my call was answered very quickly. very impressed ... Read review

The members of the staff come always to see if you need help, but if the item you want is out of stock they do not offer to order one for you or to check for the next delivery. They do not want to sell the one in display or organize the transfer from another store.

Advantages: None Whatsoever
Disadvantages: Treated Like A Criminal

PC World sprung to mind when I decided to move my computer further away from my cable modem. I bought an HP laptop from PC World in September 2007. It did not work properly from the first minute I switched it on, and is now practically unusable. Having wrestled with PC World's customer support, The Tech Guys, for months without success I eventually decided to document the whole process to customer services. So far, despite letters to the Chief Executive of DSG International plc (PC World's holding company), I have not had the laptop fixed or, what I would really like, a refund of my money. I have been to PC world store about 10 times over 5 or so years. My experiences have been consistant however they may not be representative of the company. This review is based purly on my own experiences. In Dec 2007 I went to pick up my reserved TFT monitor from Ashford branch and noticed they raised the price by £55. I told one of the staff members that when I ordered it online, it was £55 cheaper. He told me the price had changed since yesterday and would get the manager. I had to wait 30 minutes for the bleeding muppet manager.
