    I had heard stories about sky plus boxes giving lots of problems and was reluctant to buy one but my son bought one for his own use. This model actually has a 160gig Hard Drive but only 80gig can be used for recording sky. I would imagine the other 80gig could be used for personal storage, although I am not technically qualified to confirm this. It was so easy to use and had so many functions I got rid of my old setup box and bought one for myself. I would advise anyone thinking of purchasing one of these boxes to buy from a dealer and not sky. Sky would only sell me one if I used their ... more

    Hi, I bought this box to replace my noisy Amstrad DRX280! And it is perfect, i cannot fault it at all. I switched it o with my fingers crossed that it wouldnt be too noisy as i have it in my bedroom. And YES it was virtualy SILENT! I was so pleased, now i cant hear it over the TV at all. You can hear it very occassionally when there is a pause in the program you are watching but its perfectly livable. This box is the best i have ever had, the customer services are fantastic as well.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Loud hard drive, can be heard over tv

    I went for a Pace because I had read some good reviews, and that they were more reliable than the Amstrad boxes you get from Sky, hence I went through a private dealer. The box is nice in design and the software seems robust enough, had a few failed recordings but I guess this is normal from time to time. I am not impressed with the level of noise being emitted from the box itself, I read that these were the quieter ones as well!
