Advantages: Great price, great quality, great value! Disadvantages: Short battery life.
I bought the packard bell easynote about fifteen months ago and i haven't had many problems at all. The first reason i bought it was that it had a lovely design and i wasn't overly fussed about it's running speed, although it is fine when i am only using a couple of programs at the same time. The second was that it was very well priced for it's quality and it had everything i needed asi already had a fully functional destop computer, this laptop ... ...a silver covering with the packard bell logo centered on the top and another underneath the screen on the inside. The keyboard was black and rectangular and the mouse pad was an oval shape, with the two click buttons coming down around it getting wider at the bottom, it also had a mini scroll area at the side. When it is closed, it is very thin and compact, at about 3.5 cms thick.
Using the laptop - The laptop is very easy to use, you just turn ...

...them and their specifications the Packard Bell Easy Note was definately the best choice. Even though it was not the most powerful in terms of speed it was the 'neatest' and best priced one! When you close it it is forms a slim sleek rectangle - unlike many of the others that were bubbly in shape and didn't close to produce a flush edge. It is a Pentium III 600 MHz or thereabouts with 64Mb RAM and lots of software already installed, and CDs also supplied. ... ...the money to go for a more expensive one i don't think i would - this is fast enough to cope with the majority of tasks and having owned it for a few weeks now, not one problem has been encountered. Advantages: Very quick processor, large memory, all mod cons Disadvantages: As with anything too technical they tend to have glitches
...to me with 12 months Packard Bell warranty, so this is not like buying a laptop second hand. The price is very good though - I bought this model for £500 which is extremely cheap in the shops brand new they would be over £1000 (you can see the attraction!). Although it doesn't come with a manual hence the satisfactory for the Specific Criteria for the manual. Can't damn or praise something you don't have!
All this said and done when I first bought ... ...needs to be sent to Packard Bell for fixing, which really is a major hassle (that's why I haven't sent it yet). I must admit in that first month I had only used the drive once for transfer some pictures off a disc onto the computer but I hadn't really wanted to use it for anything else. That's not to say I won't in the future, in fact when I found out it was broken was when I wanted to burn a film onto a disc. The minor problems I mentioned are things ...

...that I used was the Packard Bell EasyNote E6. My memories of this product are pleasant ones, never did I have abnormal technical problems or faults and it ran as smooth as a skate on ice. Disregarding the system that runs on the E6 the laptop itself is technically stable and robust, though structurally I have experienced minor, hair-line fracture ... ...what you get with the Packard Bell EasyNote E6 it has a very reasonable price tag. In most stores such as Curry's you are looking at a price tag not deviating from a £600 mean, thus making this laptop, in my opinion, a must for the modern college or university student. All stores offer insurance at around £36 for a year, I'd say that you're unlikely to have to call upon it, but it is always safe to have insurance. I'd also advice that you buy a carry ...

Review of Packard Bell Easy Note
Advantages: Easy to use, lightweight, compact. Disadvantages: Prone to crashes, overheating, mild lag.
I have this neat little laptop in the black/silver version, and have had it since 2006. I must admit, I loved it at first, the speed of a new laptop is always remarkable. Although, as predicted, a few months down the line, the laptop started slowing down, and had the occasional crash. Even now, it is known to shut down randomly, which I believe is due to overheating within the fan. I think perhaps there are more bad things I could say about this ... ...things, like the wireless internet feature which is always a plus when on the move for work, or staying at another persons house. The laptop adapts easily to suit your needs, and although it does not come with any of the Microsoft applications, Wordpad and Notepad do suffice for the time before you can get such applications.
I must admit, I have abused my laptop a little bit over the past few years... I have been known to leave it for up to three ...

...£1000 laptops on offer, the Packard Bell was the only one in stock. It was our fifth choice, so we resented it before we had even taken it out of the box.
Straight out of the box, it didn't do itself any favours either. The software pre-installed on the machine trys to create an un-quitable array of windows, forcing you to register details and join this and that. I lasted about 5 minutes through the 'Welcome' before an XP Pro disk went in the CD ... ...been badged NEC and not Packard Bell it would have been my second choice, not fifth. The screen is an impressively clear 15" effort, the best I've seen on a £900 machine. The silver case with rubber panels make it feel quite 'executive'. The keyboard is sharp with a positive click to the key action. The touchpad is over-sensitive to taps, so it occasionally clicks for you when you didn't want to. It may be that you can adjust this with the software ...

Advantages: Light, Good size screen, and its WIFI Disadvantages: Small hard disk
I've had this machine for nearly a year now, and its travelled all over Europe with me. So how has it performed?
Well, pretty damn good actually. The Centrino processor with WIFI connects to my home network when I walk in through the door in the evening, and if I'm on the road, I just slot in the Vodaphone PCMCIA data connect card, and connect up to download my email anywhere.
The machine has a dvd rewriter, but no floppy drive, its very thin, ... ...lasts well, generally I get about 4 and a half hours before I need to go in search of a power socket. Windows XP is a vast improvement over previous operating systems, and the machine is very stable generally. I have had a ...

I bought the Easy note laptop about a year ago, I paid £500 for it, when needing a quick replacement for the home computer. It seems there are a few versions of this computer the specs of mine are:

Quick review of Packard Bell Easy Note
I had problems with the MX version from the start. The booklet that came with it is little better than useless. It covers a range of models and frequently some feature is describe only to be told: this may not apply to your computer. The pdf reader wouldn't work and I couldn't access the built in manual.
It is incredibly slow. My ten year old machine works much faster. On the second day it packed up and wouldn't switch on or off. Currys Customer Diservice NON-TECH WOMEN banged into life. On the Third day the calendar packed up. After much hassle the manager exchanged it. The Norton Suite is a pain in the arse.I'm stuck with a bad buy. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED ...

Advantages: Bright screen, fast wireless Disadvantages: Low memory, slow to boot and slow to burn DVDs
This is a painfully slow laptop. It has (apparently) a 1.7 Ghz centrino processor, but takes 4 minutes to boot with Norton Internet Security and 2.5 without. It also takes longer to burn a DVD than it would to watch it, it overheats during burning and has left heat marks on the DVDs. I guess something in its architecture means that it is very resource hungry, but packing it with inly 256MB of memory is quite frankly a joke. The graphics accelerator ... ...rotation it is difficult to reset it using the touchpad.
On the plus side, it does have a bright, clear screen and the wireless is good. It has also never crashed (fingers crossed!) although several programes have locked up.
Advice - either boost the memory or buy a different laptop, this is a little too slow to justify the Centrino processor it comes with. ...
