    Disadvantages Disadvantages maybe the cost would shock a few people, that is until they realise just how great the program is!

    Here we go again; my chance to throw in my two cents about this product; well as I own this software I see fit to give others a good explanation of it and just what it can do. Now I have used this for about 4 months; I am not going to say that I am the best graphics designer because I am not and it will take time to adapt to and learn the features and how to use them. Let me emphasize that this is NOT a game and to create some really good stuff as is constantly produced will take time and effort.     I've been using Paint Shop Pro in it's various versions since about 1995, Version 7 is without doubt the best version by far, and it's amazing to see this product come from a limited shareware program to one of the best graphics packages around. You can manipulate graphics for any purpose in PSP7, but two of the main uses of a graphics package nowadays are probably Photo enhancement, and Web design.     Disadvantages Disadvantages takes a bit of getting used to

    I edit all my pictures in Paint Shop Pro which allows me to change the lighting of a picture, the texture, contrast and so on. I have used other programs but this one to me is the best. It is also a great program for working with and creating graphics and animations. It is not a program you can just install and work right away. It does take some study and learning as to how every thing operates but great instructions come with it.     I have downloaded the beta version of PP7, it's a brilliant improvement, I look at 6 and I realise how basic it really is compared to 7. Maybe its because they have dramatically improved the selection tool, with loads more shapes, maybe because the raster vector tool has dozens of pre set shapes,or that the browse feature(a brilliant tool) is faster or just maybe that the the colour fill and textures are miles more manageable than 6 -it actually reminds me of Fireworks 3.     What do people look for when it comes to choosing image-editing software? Jasc must have asked this question dozens of times and luckily for us, they actually listened to the answers. Paint Shop Pro 7 has achieved the right balance between the 'click here and this will happen' beginners and the 'I want total control' professional.     To me, Paint Shop Pro is simply the best and most affordable image design package available on the market today. What makes it so good is that it appeals to such a wide range of users. Its price of about £70 from the download web site ($99) or £77 for the boxed CD ($109) is affordable to anyone who is considering buying one of the finest tools in its category on the market. If you visit the home page of PSP 7, its maker JASC, have a very nice site that explains, demonstrates and allows a free 30 day trial download of the product.     Paint Shop Pro 7 is now a couple of years old and has been superseded by Paint Shop Pro 8 and 9. This version of Paint Shop Pro though, remains special and cleared the way for the constant progress seen in 8 and 9, and finally broke the quality barrier between PSP and Adobe Photoshop, but still holds the name as the ‘Poor Mans Photoshop.’ First you may ask, “there are newer versions of this program, why bother reviewing it?” Well, Paint Shop Pro 7 though a couple of years old is still a top class Image editing package.     Having been an avid Adobe Photoshop fan for as long as I can remember i was very aprehensive of moving station to JASC Paintshop Pro 7 (PSP7).
