Overview
Paintball is the fastest growing sport in the Uk and is now classed as an extreme sport. The basic idea of the game is to run around with your team shooting the opposition team with paintballs while trying not to get shot yourself and aiming to complete a predetermined game objective.
Target Consumers Paintball appeals to many different target consumers due to several reasons. Firstly there are those among us who are want-to-be Rambo's ... ...forces. Paintball is a way for these types to show off their shooting skills and try to win the day single handily so they can show off their bruises to their mates in the pub that evening. The second type of consumer the sport appeals to, is in the world of business. A surprising amount of companies are willing to send their employees to paintball centres in the hope that the day will improve teamwork and communication within the group, of which ...

...this is only paintball.
Paintball has risen in popularity in recent times to the point where most people have a Paintball site within half an hour of them. As people have more disposable income, others develop even more imaginative ways of relieving them of it, and one of those ways is the growing phenomenon of Paintball. The idea is simple, its two teams playing a series of army style war games on a small scale with, obviously, not lethal weapons. ... ...hopefully give an overview of paintball as a whole. As diverse as sites may be from one another they also all have a lot in common.
JUST POPPING OUT TO FIGHT A WAR
The equipment and weapons are fairly standard from site to site. A Paintball gun is basically an air gun that fires a paint ball, a round shell of coloured paint about the size of a gobstopper, and which is the size of a large pistol up to a small machine gun. All of the guns that I ...

I will be giving my opinion on a normal recreational game here; this is the kind of game that every member of the general public can play.
Paintball has been around for years but is slowly becoming more and more popular in the UK, the main objective of the ... ...attack rarely works. The classic paintball game that is still as much fun as when it first hit our shores.
Village Games
These are games set in a purpose built village with a team defending certain post while the other team is on attack with the objective of capturing certain places. When this game ends the roles are then reversed, a great game for unloading a lot of paint.
Speedball
Speedball normally takes place in an open-air arena with barrels ...

---------
I purchased the paintball tickets as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday, I bought the ticktes online, from www.buyagift.co.uk. Anyone my age (22) will know what happened to PJ in Byker Grove, and we all know it wasn’t pleasant, the reputation of paintballing was not done a favour as he lay in agony with yellow paint over his face screaming in his geordie accent ‘my eye, my eye’. The PRICE
We paid an initial £40 for twenty people to go which included 100 paintballs (worth £5) the loan of overalls (big green dirty things) the all important face mask (to stop a repeat of a PJ esque accident happening) a gun (of course) and lunch at lunchtime. For every subsequent 100 balls you bought it would cost you £5.

...many different locations in which Paintball can be played. Most popular of all is in a forest, but you can play in open areas that have buildings and warehouses, or even have a totally indoor game.

...as I contemplated losing my paintball virginity. It was something that I had always wanted to try but everytime I had been invited previously I had already committed myself to something else. On arrival you sign a short personal injury waiver, then you collect a gun number ... ...be adhered to because a paintball we were told leaves the barrel of the gun at approximately 280 feet per second which if it hits you in the face whilst your facemask is not where it should be, it can blind you. The reason for the gun number being issued is so that you consistently use the same gun throughout the day. This allows you to top up the hopper of the gun without worrying whether you will get the same gun on the next game.
But on to the ...

Advantages: The most fun you're ever going to have! (really) Disadvantages: A bit pricey (not *that* bad though), some wimps claim it's sore but it's not really!
Paintball is one of these sports, which lots of people would really love to try, but never actually get round to doing. Until two days ago, I too fell into that category, however Friday 7th September 2001 saw my first game of paintball, and I have to say that the excitement, adrenalin rushes, and general thrill of the games, made sure it certainly won’t be my last!
First of all, to those who haven’t the foggiest idea what I am talking ... ...choose to engage in your paintball games, but the basic rules remain – when you are “shot”, the pellet will burst splatting brightly coloured paint onto your overalls, and you are then either a casualty, or out of that game altogether.
