    Disadvantages Disadvantages Cover up

Well what a weekend, cricket such a dramatic game partly because of those gaps in-between the day's play, the Lords test a perfect example of that, the game smashed apart by the match-fixing allegations. Four years ago on the last Pakistan tour of England; of course, the visitors would infamously walk off at The Oval and forfeit the match over ball tampering allegations and so this trauma nothing new with crickets most irritating and arrogant team. Its pretty clear now who the villains of world cricket are and let's stop making excuse for them to keep them in the game. The 'alleged' (cough!) ... more

    Advantages Advantages All the players.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fielding not as a good as the rest.

I believe the Pakistan team is all set for the 2003 world cup. In players 1 to 11 and the subs you can see there is quality all round. 1 Saeed Anwar:- A world class player who has every shot in the book and who can play all through the innings. A very dangerous man. 2 Shahid Afridi:- A young and upcoming player who has hit the fastest century ever and can come up trumps on his day. Also is capable of taking a few wickets with his spin. 3 Abdur Razzaq:- A very useful all-rounder. Who is a excellent bowler and bowls good line a length. He is also and good striker of the ball who can play at ... more

When England last played in a test series in Pakistan the series was most famously remembered for the disgraceful confrontation between England captain Mike Gatting and local Test umpire Shakoor Rana. Whilst that incident had the positive development in the use of independent umpires it partly resulted in the temporary cessation of Test tours by England until this winter season. Other incidents also occurred and whilst the series was concluded largely according to the original schedule the fact that the England team was given a hardship bonus for playing in Pakistan was regarded by many in ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages too risky

Having witnessed the latest case of a team being 'Afridi-ed', on this occasion English county side Lancashire, I did not know whether to laugh or cry. Despite having over 100 one day internationals and 11 test matches already under his belt, Shahid Afridi still lives for the high speed, all-or-nothing approach. His critics view the agressive 21-year-old Pathan as foolish and perhaps even 'brain-dead'. His protagonists may refer to his style as cavalier and applaud the manner in which he applies his immense talent. Some may say he has no place in international cricket whereas others insist that ... more

Javed Miandad's tenure as Pakistan cricket team's coach has been extended until the 2003 World Cup. Miandad, 43, took over as coach after Pakistan lost two Tests in the home series against Sri Lanka last March. Pakistan won the last Test against Sri Lanka in Karachi with Miandad as coach and then lifted the Sharjah Cup triangular series and the first Asia Cup title in Dhaka. He also led Pakistan to an away Test series victory against Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play in a Singapore triangular series from August 20-27 against South Africa and New Zealand. ... more

    Advantages Advantages good side

    Disadvantages Disadvantages inconsistent

I have been watching the one day internationals currently being played between Pakistan, England, and Australia, and it’s been good viewing I’ve come to quick conclusion. In one day matches Pakistan are better than England but Australia are better than both of them. The Pakistan teams have played well against England but against Australia they were thrashed. They have a mixture of players, ranging from youth to experience, Yousuf Yohanna has been their best player in terms of batting. They too like the other teams have had to cope with injuries with Wasim Akram and Shoiab Akthar ... more

Action by Mr. John Reid, the ICC Match Referee for the Singer Triangular Series 2000, against two Pakistan players and the Captain of the cricket team has caused a furore in the cricket World. In Pakistan the news has spread a wave of disappointment among millions of cricket fans. Most of them feel that their cricketing heroes have been made the victims of stark injustice. Mr. Reid fined Waqar Younis 50% of his match fee and awarded him a one ODI match suspension, while Azhar Mahmood was fined 30% of his match fee and Moin Khan severely reprimanded. It is ironical that the match Referee ... more

Advantages Advantages The brazilians of cricket!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Commitment?

I am very excited about Pakistani cricket. I am sure they will put all the scandel and match fixing allegations behind them to dawn upon a new era of young exciting cricketers, astute tactics and thrilling victories that will see them crownwed next world champions. The management of Javed Miandad has been inspirational and the captaincy of Moin Kahn has been exceptional. With the experienced but still heavily talented players like Inzamam-Ul-Haq, Wasim Akram, Moin and Waqar Younis still in the team along with the talens of Azhar Mahmood, Imran Nazir, Shoaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mushtaq, I cant ... more

Advantages Advantages Loads of talent, Match winning Palyers

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too much Internal heat, lack commitment currently

The Pakistani team has always had the reputation of being one of the best fighters, possessing a never submissive attitude and individual talent that’s seen in very few teams. They’ve produced many legends that have revolutionized this game and contributed to cricket in a breathtaking manner. Even though their performance over the years has been questionable and irregular, any team that plays against Pakistan will have a couple of sleepless hours the previous night. While talking about them you can’t help but think about Imran Khan, the handsome former Pakistan captain who has contributed to ... more

Advantages Advantages Some great players, very talented

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Dodgy dealings

Pakistan: a good team that has the players that can beat anyone if they are focused, but unfortunately they seem to have a darker side. With all the recent match fixing allegations, Cronje aside, it seems to me that Pakistani players are the most corrupt, with question marks hanging over their defeats by Bangladesh and Australia in last year's world cup. They have had a torrid time the last few years with their captains as well, with Salim Malik at the centre of a massive enquiry, which also took down some other major names with him. Having said this, Pakistan do posses some awesome players ... more
