Advantages: A sexy toy, erm which does lots of important things too!
Disadvantages: Can only use some of the functionality with people with compatible devices.

...way since I used a Palm 100 in the early 90’s – they had rather dodgy software and hot synch connections, a black and white screen and minimal applications. Still, it was a little revolution in its own right back then. The one I upgraded to was the Palm V which was really quite similar, but more robust and reliable; but still reliant on the cumbersome “grafitti” stylus-writing unless you bought a little keyboard to go with it. So when I came to ...
...turned to Palm once again. I did research my options on the internet but really found very little honest comparisons of the various machines out there and very many praise-filled opinions which were really nothing more than justifying purchasing decisions already made. @@@ Size & Weight @@@ My Tungsten T3 is 7.6cm x1.7cm x 10.9cm. So it’s fair to say that it is about average size for most PDAs. However, it has the new Palm stretch display which ...

A powerhouse of a PDA with lots of features

Advantages: Amazing screen, easy to use, lots of features
Disadvantages: No Wi-Fi, quite expensive

...some of my co-workers that Palm machines handle the sync with Notes better, so I decided to try out my friend’s Tungsten T3. This is the second time I’ve ever used a Palm device since I had my m130 (see my review) and I was quite impressed at how far Palm have come in their OS and features in the last couple of years. Design: The T-series Tungsten’s share a similar design and feature the slider that usually covers the writing area. It looks very ...
...is quite hefty for a Palm device however it didn’t weigh down my pocket as much as most Pocket PC devices. At the top edge of the device hosts the stylus holder, the power button, infrared port and a SD slot. The left side sports the mic and the voice memo button and a standard-size headphone jack. There is a small speaker at the top of the PDA, with a familiar navigation pad and Task, Calendar, Memo and Contacts buttons at the bottom on the slider, ...

A Disappointing Piece of Junk

Advantages: Versatile, Powerful, Useful
Disadvantages: Poor design, Ugly, Irritating features, Lousy Mac software, clunky operation

...There's no credit due to Palm in saying that PDAs are still a fabulous idea. The ability to sync up data with a computer simply and speedily is truly marvellous. If one loses one's PDA one can simply buy another one and be back where you started without any loss of precious phone numbers, addresses and so on. In this particular PDA the freehand notebook has proved to be a real boon, as has the voice recorder. The T3's search facility is quick, although ...

All work no play

Advantages: Powerfull processor
Disadvantages: lack of features, big, complex interfaces

...found, being new to the palm OS aswell, it to be clumsy and confusing. The 400mhz processor is quite impressive and i experienced no lag or slowness at all, so this is a good point. But i found it hard to do much. It took me 10 minutes to find the right set of options or settings to simply calibrate the screen. It does however come with some usefull programs for writing and spreadsheet based work, with an easy interface. But i found the keypad rather ...
...The general appearence of the palm was O.K. but it wasnt great. Its also not that easy to store in your pocket as it is so wide. The feature of being able to pull up the screen to reveal more screen or the keypad was good if you want to make it smaller but other than that it is quite useless. This product, compared to other PDA's has rather limited features. For connectivity it only has bluetooth, it has the ability to play music and maybe video ...

Best PDA?

Advantages: Great screen, fast, robust, easy to use, bluetooth, IR
Disadvantages: Battery life, need memory cards to store music

...it drains relatively quickly. - Palm Operating system? Much like windows and apple. Although palm is quite easy to use i think i would have preferred a windows based one (pocket PC). -lack of wifi support (meaning that you have to rely on your phone for internet access/email sending etc. -need memory card to save MP3's In conclusion: Very high quality PDA, arguably the best in the category. few things to sort out though (see above!). ...

Palm T3 - the perfect holiday companion

Advantages: Compact size to fit in pocket, but screen large enough to watch movies
Disadvantages: Unlike the later models, this does not have wi-fi

...can be put on the palm (or card) either through your computer/cradle link, or bluetoothed across e.g. from your phone, as can anything else you want to put on the palm. The default buttons have the microphone switch on the unprotected side, which means that it is very easy to unintentionally record something, so I have changed the buttons round so the one on the side opens up an ebook instead. Great fun, excellent features.

Advantages: collapsing graffitti area + rotating screen
Disadvantages: would be even better with WiFi

I just upgraded from the Tungsten T, and I am really pleased with the T3. It has a much faster processor (nearly 3x), and the ability to rotate the screen into widescreen comes in very handy, especially when watching movies on MMPlayer. The colour is excellent, and although it took me a while to get used to the Graffitti 2 to enter text, it is a lot faster to write than on the old Palms. What i think would complete the whole package is if the T3 ...
...allow me to surf the net in lectures. However with the Bluetooth I can surf the net at home with a Bluetooth dongle. The memory jump from the T is huge, but i would still recommend getting an SD card as well as this will allow you to play music and movies on the Palm, as most (if not all) programs require an SD card for music playback. Overall a great item, definately worth it. ...

It doesn't have WLAN but Bluetooth and IR. And it's got a web browser wich woeks quite good on the small screen. The battery, al Lithium-Ion, has a lifetime of rougly 100-120 hours. ...
