Advantages Advantages Light, simple to use, Colour Screen and computer back up facility

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can think of

Forget Lifeboat, Liferaft or even the mint with the hole in the middle, this device is truly a lifesaver. I used to have a Sharp electronic organiser - one of those you can pick up anywhere for about £20-£30. It had everything on it including passwords for my work, flight details, important telephone nos. of family and friends (and even nos. of those people whose details I didn’t want to see on my mobile phone – you know what I mean…those banished for a social misdemeanour :-) Then disaster happened – my screen broke on the Electronic organiser and I was not able to see anything on it – save ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, does the job, good screen, SD slot

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dated, quite bulky and heavy

My first introduction to PDAs started with the Palm m100. My friend got it back when I was in school and everyone was drooling all over it – it was such a novelty. I set my sights on getting one as soon as I could. By the time I could afford one the best one to get in that price range was the Palm m130. Looking back on it now it was pretty bad, however for the time it was brilliant – partly due to the fact that it was one of the few models with a color screen. These days most PDAs are superior to this model, however you can pick up a real bargain on eBay (around 40 pounds) and this little ... more

Advantages Advantages Price, colour!, ease of use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Handle with care!

The Palm M130 has been in the stores for a while now, in the budget colour price bracket. With recent price reductions it can be moved to the budget bracket, costing as it does around the 150-200 pounds mark- but what do you get for your money? The M130 is a PDA (personal Digital Assistant) and is in essence a computer version of the trusty filo fax with features such as address book, a to do list, calculator, scheduler and note pad. In addition, other software can be downloaded via the internet and your trusty PC- software i've transfered to my 130 includes more than a handful of games such ... more

Advantages Advantages Great little thing to mess around with

Disadvantages Disadvantages Haven't used it all that much in 2 years!!!

It got to the point during the summer where i hadn't really spent ny of my summers earnings and they were now burning an enormous hole in my pocket! In all honesty i bought this to try to organise my life. In truth, i should have just bought a diary. I really haven't used this thing a lot for what i original intended it to be used for. I've spent more time downloading crappy shareware to Hotsync onto it than filling out the organiser or writing lecture notes on it. I'm a bit of a gadget man and love electronic toys and it was something i didn't have. I'm not disciplined enough to keep a diary ... more

Advantages Advantages Great colur screen, cheap, good fun

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none!!!

Technicolour dream device The Palm m130, which is the same form factor as the m125 and slots neatly into the series above this device. What this latest model adds, though, is a colour screen - the first time Palm has offered colour on its lower end products, although the higher price immediately pushes it out of the budget category. Admittedly the colour screen does look good, and it makes the whole experience of using the device more pleasant. There is another addition that enhances your viewing pleasure - a contrast control, accessed by tapping on an icon in the righthand corner of the ... more

Advantages Advantages Size and weight, expandibility

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not much choice of hardware

My first PDA was a Palm M105, which I got from my wife as a Xmas present. I didn't think I was going to use it very much, but I was about to be surprised. I started having a look around the net for programs and you wouldn't believe how much free stuff there is out there for PDAs. About a year later, the 8M of memory were becoming a bit crowded, so I decided to upgrade to an M130 for the colour screen, the rechargeable batteries and the SD expansion card slot. What a great idea: I paid £120 and sold my M105 to a colleague for 30 quid. I've had the M130 for about a year and half and I have a 32M ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to use, extra programmes can be downloaded,

Disadvantages Disadvantages if it runs out of batery you risk losing all data if it is not backed up to computor

I have been using the palm for over a year; when I first got it I couldn't be bothered to learn to use it properly and would still use a written diary. Now I would be lost without it. I have my work diary on there and my personal diary. My partner also has one and we can sync the palms together and with duel date we can see each others diaries. I keep work documents on there and have also got and attachable keyboard which I can use to make notes when I am at meetings and then just sync it to the computer when I get back. I have even downloaded photos to it. I find the palm invaluable and use ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great device!

Disadvantages Disadvantages folding cover a little flimsy

Lightweight, affordable and genuinly useful. A great entry level PDA for a low price. replace your phone book, address book, diary with one light weight device (weighs about the same as a mobile phone) Battery ife is good with charging easy using the included cradle. Setup takes a minute or two and the device comes with many applications pre-installed. The software available (and a lot of it is free) is immense - just look through some popular shareware sites for pages of software. Simple to use and once you get the hang of Grafitti (the data input method, which is simalir to handwriting on ... more
