not too many applications, basic features only

Recently I’ve bought a Palm Zire because I ‘ve got fed up using ‘pen and paper’ and not be able to find either pen or paper when needed to jot something down or to have to buy every year a new diary for my phone numbers/ addresses and appointments. Besides I’m the sort of person who likes these...

Good

PalmOS gives access to many legacy 3rd party apps

Overpriced, underpowered

The name of Palm will forever be linked with Personal Digital Assistants, and remains one of the most respected manufacturers in the field. Let's get down to brass tacks - a PDA is a small handheld device which you use in much the same way that you would a Filofax, you keep your phone list, diary...

no backlight, only 2MB of memory

I've had my Palm Zire for around about two years now and it was great value for money when I got it (£20 in the bargain basement section of Woolworths) and I have used it on and off every day since. The software that comes pre installed is quite useful and it is very easy to find additional...

Easy to use, small, inexpensive organiser.

No memory expansion, No Backlight

The Palm Zire is one on the handiest pieces of technology I have purchased. Though I have heard bad comments about the Zire compared to its fellow palm bigger brothers, the Zire is an excellent piece of equipment at a low price. To sum it up, it is Microsoft outlook in your hand! But there is...

Not for me

Looks good, rechargeable

cheap stylus, cheap cover, tiny screen, not colour

I was utterly disappointed with the Zire. It cost me £70 new, and was no better than my Vx, which cost less. I ended up selling the Zire after a week, and went back to my Vx. I found every aspect of it cheap, except from the price. The stylus was poor. The cover was flimsy, to say the least. The...

Excellent

Simple to use, touch screen

no back light, can be difficult to see screen

I started using my zire in desperation when my work seemed to be piling up, and I couldn't see what to do next, couldn't think straight, double booked myself... sound familiar? Very easy to carry around with you, simple to use, could potentially save your sanity! Stores dates, anniveraries, tasks...

“Great first time PDA”

Small, Light, Compact and cheap

No Backlight, Only 2MB of memory

I have been looking to purcahse a PDA for ages but have never gor down to deciding which one is suited to me. I am a student who likes to make notes on the go, keep a list of contacts and play some games in any spare time. In my opinion the palm zire is perfect for someone like me. The only con...

“An invaluable gadget”

Small,stylish,easy to use

None really

I had always viewed PDAs as a bit of an unnecessary gadget that certain people used only to impress others. How wrong I have been if the Zire is anything to go by. Since I bought one a couple of months ago it has been in constant use with only a couple of battery charges, which is proof that the...

Not alot of Memory, Black & White Screen

The size of Palm Zire is actually quite handy for me, it's not too small, but not a brick! The extras that you can buy for Palm Zire these include my fave: an attachable keyboard. There's no digital camera or clour screen, but there is the power to beam notes and applications to your family and...

Portability

Does not synch with computer

A friend of mine recently bought a Palm Zire to replace his now defunct Psion Revo, and was mystified when he could not get it to synch with his Outlook on the computer. He returned it to the shop as a faulty, and had to go to another store to purchase another. The price of the Palm Zire had been...

None really

I bought this item a couple of months ago as an upgrade to my previous handheld and even though it doesn't have as many features as the £200-£400 handhelds the zire is a pretty good little organiser and with its USB connectivity its really easy and quick to synchronise with multiple programs. The...
