Advantages Advantages Silver (very sexy!), sorround sound outputs, digital audio output, can be multi region, virtual soround sound for those us without home cinema setup!, NTSC output and subwoofer output.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sound options could be better explained in manual, sound could be better (esp. in conjunction with panasonic tv!)!

I would thoroughly recommend the Panasonic RV20 EGS DVD player for those of us looking for a midrange or first-time DVD player. AT first view the players case is very minimilistic. I bought the silver version to match my silver tv/vcr (also panasonic). There is a power button, the usual play/stop commands and a sound option button. ALl other commands are executed from the smallish remote control. As with all DVD players before it, the Panasonic provides the same crisp clean images, similar to that seen on its higher end players. The sound options on this player could have been better thought ... more

Advantages Advantages About £14 ($20) cheaper than RV-30

Disadvantages Disadvantages No Component Video Output

The Panasonic RV-20 DVD player shows how tightly things have bunched up at the lower end of the fast-moving Digital Video Disk player market. Its picture quality is similar to that of the next model up in the line, the RV-30, and it only differs from that model by a couple of features and a few dollars of price. The RV-20 will usually sell for about £150 ($210), while the RV-30 goes for about £163 ($230). If I were buying a DVD player right now, I'd go for the RV-30 since, for £14 ($20) more, it has component video output, a movie-enhanced mode for better detail in dark areas of the picture ... more

Advantages Advantages picture quality is superb

Disadvantages Disadvantages lack of audio outputs

I spent 3 month looking through magazines trying to fine the best dvd player that I could get for around £250. After hours of looking around in loads of different electrical stores i decided on the panasonic rv20, the main reason I chose this is because of the picture quality, there are dvd players out there for the same price with a load more options, but in my endless search I saw £600 pound players with play back no were near as good as this. All flesh tones look spot on not the funny green that you get with some players, even on older tv's you can not beat the picture quality. As with all ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages i didn't see

Hi, i write this opinion to give to all other people the opportunity to know information about one of the best ( as i think ) dvd player. I'm talking about DVD RV-20 (Panasonic). I bought it by internet and i was a little bit worried about its quality, cos i spent really few money to buy it. As soon as i received, i thougth : "ok...it's beauty design".... and then i decided to see quality of video.... So i load "The Mistery of Sleepy Hollow" and my opinion became to be sure, this Dvd player is one of the best that i'ved seen in my life. I tried a lot of dvd players ( with help of my friends ) ... more
