the panasonic vdr-d50 is a DVD camcorder. It is fairly lightweight at 400g (slightly more with the battery attached). The camera has a x42 optical zoom. the zoom is a fairly good quality but the image resolution does suffer at the extreme end of the zoom. the camera has a 2.5 inch led screen.
one of this cameras best fetures is the optical image stabilization. it very cleverly and efficiently removes blurring that is caused by having a less than ... ...battery life is good. charge time is between 2 and 3 hours and this will last very well, even if you are using the additional energy sapping features such as the backlight. you can also plug it directly to the mains via a cable that is provided.
the on screen menus work well and have enough features to keep gadget enthusiasts interested. Sound quality is pretty good for indoors use. wind can cause some sound issues.
