Advantages Advantages Ludicrously good value for money!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a compact

A bold claim, I hear you cry, but this is honestly the best damn digicam out at the moment, bar one problem. (Which I will deal with now before going on to why it rocks) The problem: It's not a compact. Sorry lads and ladies, no taking this one out on a night out for fun and games, its not a handbag cam. Right, with THAT out of the way, let me explain to you why I think this is simply the most comprehensively well-designed and built model out there. The lens is a meaty (yes, thats right MEATY) 12x zoom (30-360ish for 35mm people) This is the absolute maximum you can get on a digicam without ... more

Advantages Advantages powerful x12 optical zoom ,SLR true colour photo's,movies as well

Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly bulky not always the easiest menu system to use

This is a great all round camera. It has a massive x12 optical zoom with auto stabilizing software so even I with shaky hand can get perfectly still pictures ever time! This digital camera gives you SLR quality pictures slightly cheaper than a good quality SLR but you are able to down load onto a computer and print it out any size. To save the money and time fiddling around with printer you can use online websites to send you prints. They send you high quality glossy photos on photographic paper for as little as 10p for 6" x 4" prints. In addition, it has in built compression software, which ... more

Advantages Advantages 12x Zoom, Image Stabilizer, Picture Quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Manual Focus, No Manual Zoom,

This camera is great. Its the closet it can be to being a SLR without actually being a SLR! It comes with a leica lens (the best lense manaffacture around), and its best feature of all, 12x Optical zoom, which means not having to buy Zoom Lenses for the camera. I have taking this camera hill walking for around 8 months now, and have taking some great photos, and the picture quality is amazing. There are low level of noise on the pictures and the Image Stabilizer really does help when your zooming in at 12x! Also, changing Aperture and Exposure times are easy to do with the cameras easy-to-use ... more

Advantages Advantages Weight, zoom, Li battery, easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages manual flash

This camera is great. I specifically wanted a camera with a large zoom as I'm going to Canada and wanted to be able to photograph animals. The zoom is incredible. 12x digital with total zoom of 48x. The anti-shake function works really well and even on 48x you can still get good pictures. Its light so it makes it fantastic for tourists who don't want to lug a tripod etc with them. It has a straightforward mode so that beginners can start straight away, and so many more advanced options. The graph showing the white balance is brilliant because you can immediately tell where the picture needs ... more

Advantages Advantages superb image quality, easy to use, fast action, good battery life

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A little bulky

I was becoming disatisfied with my old camera, the screen wasn't visible outdoors, the focus and shutter lag was meaning that I was missing shots and frankly it looked like a toy. When I saw the Panasonic Lumix FZ20 in the window of a well known camera retailer for £199.99, I had to go in and take a look. Five Minutes later I was out again, having sustained a hit on Barclaycard, clutching my new camera, and I'm very pleased with it. Goodbye to shutter lag, hello EVF, superb zoom capabilties and welcome home to my stock of SD cards, which was helpful, as I didn't need to buy anymore. I am ... more

Advantages Advantages so easy to use and very professional looking photos.

Disadvantages Disadvantages none that i can find.

Having had this model for a few months now I wouldn't be without it. I paid about £270 for mine, and could not find anything to compare with the quality of this camera anywhere near that price.Included was a 256mb card, an extremely good long life battery (lasts me all day) and charger, lens hood, adaptor and cap, and a cd-rom and all the connection cables. It is a 5 megapixel. It has a very high quality lens, and marvellous 12x zoom. The built in flash pops up at the press of a button, and automatically flashes twice to avoid red eye. From landscapes to night photos the results are brilliant ... more

Advantages Advantages Incredible zoom, Nice manual focus feature,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite big, manual focus can be difficult to use

This is an all round excellent camera. The 12x optical zoom is outstanding and despite this, any shake has very little effect to it whatsoever due to the stabilizer. With the added 4x digital zoom, there is no need for binoculars anymore! The manual focus is an excellent added feature though could be improved with it being difficult to judge of the camera is un focus on a small LCD screen. The screen itself is very good, and there is also a smaller one to save battery power. The battery is very long lasting, being lithium, and doesn't take long to charge. The caerma comes with both lithium ... more

Advantages Advantages An all round great camera

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pictures can be slightly orangey

This is a great digital camera, I would definately recommend it! It is easy to use and easy to hold and takes great pictures. You can record films on it for as long as your SD card will hold, there is no limit on the camera. There is a fully automatic setting as well as a full manual setting or you can change the shutter speed and it will adjust the aperture to fit it and vice versa. You can focus manually or automatically so you can do everything a film SLR camera can do but more as it's digital. It is light to hold considering it's size. I would recommend getting quite a large memory SD card ... more

Advantages Advantages 12x Optical zoom, Leica lens

Disadvantages Disadvantages bulky, not that good at ISO more than 100, no RAW

I have been using this camera since early 2005. It is a very good camera. One major advantage of this camera is its 12x optical zoom at f2.8. You won't get that kind of lens with the price of FZ20. Even though it has OIS, I still recommend the use of tripod for high zoom situation. IMHO the camera gives very good photo quality at ISO 50-ISO100. This is the setting that produce very low noise on your photo if you want to produce large print. The camera also has up to ISO 400 if you want to use.But at ISO 200 and above the photo shows image noise. Now if you zoom at 12x the OIS is not really ... more
