Bought this camera as we were going on a Mediterranean cruise. I wanted a compact camera with wide angle lens for using on the ship but also needed a good telephoto lens as well. I already own a Nikon D80 with 2 lenses covering 18-300mm but didn't want the hassle of carrying it around on a relaxing holiday. I was looking for a camera that would take good pictures without too much intervention from me. Its what I got!!! I just point and click and great pictures every time. The 10x zoom lense is fantastic, I am able to close up pictures from far away. However the best feature has to be the image stabalization. ...point and shoot cameras the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 has it's limitations, but in my opinion that is a good selling point. As a professional photographer I sometimes need the simplicity of a P&S to help capture a moment without over complicating it with loads of hi-tec equipment. ...been very good but the Panasonic is a step above. Not many cameras for this price range offer 10x Optical Zoom & 7.2 Megapixels unless you go for an SLR. I got this camera for £150 off Amazon about 4 months ago and am very happy with the purchase. One major benefit is the LCD screen on the back which is massive. Although large and heavy for a compact camera, the combination of 10x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle, Leica lens and optical image stabilisation should make anyone considering a serious digital camera, evaluate the TZ3. I have owned the DMC-TZ3 for about 6 months and it has been a joy to use in a wide range of environements and conditions. For skiing, I was able to capture clear, crisp pictures in bright sunshine and overcast conditions. The big screen worked well even in strong sunlight. The telephoto lens is excellent for getting up close at sporting events and the quick start up time means you don't miss a thing. I can't find any downsides and I would highly recommend this camera.

I made a jump to this Camera from a 2 megapixel Kodak which I have had for quite a few years now, and frankly I have been extremely impressed from the beginning. 7.2 mega pixels provides plenty of sharpness to images, 10 x zoom lets you get right into the shot you want to take and the use of the camera is extrremely straight forward with comprehensive, easy to follow menus. An exelent camera. Loads of tech packed into such a small, stylish case.the lense is great with a wideangle and 10x zoom all with 7.2 megapixles to boot. A definate buy.
