Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7 Disadvantages: No HD movie mode, not very cheap
The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 is a great little camera that I have used to compliment my large DSLR (a Nikon D90 I have also reviewed), which is too big and expensive to be taken everywhere. === Specification === The TZ6 is compact camera with 10.1 MP, which is plenty of pixels for all but the larger prints and harshest crops. This means that in normal conditions there will never be pixelation, in fact too many megapixels squashed onto a sensor can actually ... ...PowerShot SX200 IS), so the Panasonic Lumix TZ range pretty much has the market to itself. The TZ6 has the advantage over the TZ5 with and extra 1 megapixel and 2 x zoom, as well as a slightly different styling. As far as I have seen the TZ6 is not thatmuch more expensive than the TZ5, so I found it worth getting the newer model. The TZ7 is the most recent release in the series and is almost exactly the same as the TZ6 both with 10.1 MP and 12x zoom ...

Advantages: Sturdiness, Ease of use, Autofocus Tracking Disadvantages: Overshadowed by the TZ7, Tries to do everything for you
...is only around £40. The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and TZ7 are similar stable-mates, with the TZ7 being the superior of the two.
Having said that, the extra features of the TZ7 are things I can quite comfortably live without, such as the superior video capability with stereo sound, an HDMI output, and the ability of the camera to recognise up to 15 of your friends when they appear in a picture. Why would I want that? I don't have 15 friends - and even ... ...The TZ6 is aimed at people who want to take nice pictures but don't really want to know how those pictures are achieved. Almost everything is designed to be automatic and intuitive, and there is some pretty impressive processing that takes place to make this possible.
Priced at around £250, it may be a little too much for the beginners out there, no matter how good it performs.
The metal body gives the Lumix TZ6 a robust feel that some plastic-bodied ...

Advantages: Very easy to use. Takes superb quality pictures Disadvantages: Might be a bit big for some.
I'm really behind the times when it comes to technology and have never had a digital camera before, so after looking on various websites I finally decided on this one. Whilst I cant compare it to anything else and think it's brilliant.
As a novice when it comes to digital cameras I found this incredibly user friendly, although I would recommend going through the manual as there are a lot of features and functions that would have baffled me, but ... ...very straight forward.
The pictures are really clear, although one comment is that when viewing them on the screen the reds look very brigh, but it's fine when you print off the photos so maybe that's just a setting that I need to adjust.
The video mode is also excellent. I've been taking lots of film of my baby boy recently and the battery lasts for ages.
It's not as small as a lot of the other cameras I looked at but I wouldn't class it as overly ...

Advantages: small, great lens, easy to carry and use Disadvantages: no viewfinder and difficult to see the screen in bright light
I normally use DSLR's, but I wanted a compact camera for a touring holiday - didn't want to carry the weight this time.
I was attracted to this little camera by its 12 optical zoom and its Leica lens, so I expected it to be a good little point and shoot, but it has outstripped my expectations completely.
My first test for it was the Hampton Court Flower Show and it perfomed beautifully.
In the crowds it was literally reach out, point and shoot, ... ...were sharp and the colours beautiful.
Not only does it have an impressive zoom, it also starts with a great wide angle 25mm - perfect for landscape.
It is a well built piece of equipment, it starts up quite quickly - even for someone used to the instant reaction of a DSLR - and it feels solid and well built.
The battery lasts well - I take quite a lot of shots and use a lot of zoom, but it still manages about 250 pictures on a charge.
I did put ...

Advantages: good quality pictures, great video recorder Disadvantages: pretty big, freezes sometimes
I used to have the TZ5 and i must say the TZ6 is a great improvement. There's a 12x, 25-300mm optical zoom lens, both wider and longer than the TZ5’s. Also the megapixels have increased from 9 to 10. Also the 720p HD video mode is recorded using the new AVCHD Lite format which almost doubles the recording time. This will come in very handy especially when going on holiday or days out. Also when recording, there is a new feature which cuts out very ... ...the video is brilliant. There is no freezing or jumping. The quality of the pictures are also very good. Just so clear with bright vivid colours. In addition the camera screen its self is good. A nice size and a good quality picture. '''disadvantages''' I think the camera could be improved by being made to look more attractive. Maybe in more colours. Also it isn't exactly the smallest camera. Finally i found that when looking through picutes videos ...
