Advantages Advantages very stylish, easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages dated

I had my first child when I was 20 years old and like every other parent I wanted to give him everything. I went out and bought him tons of clothes (some that he never wore and ended up getting their first wear on my second child!), toys, books, blankets and all those lovely little things. One thing I was determined to get was a video camera. We didn't have one when I was growing up and it's something I really wanted. Looking around the shops camcorders were really expensive. It took me a good week of research to pick out the one for me. I chose the Panasonic NV-DS60. It was stylish, compact ... more

Advantages Advantages Very compact and nifty, lots of interesting buttons

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tends to get a dodgy picture when first switched on

I've enjoyed using this camera, it fits in my handbag and I can use it in the dark, back-to-front, while holding a baby. It has lots of fun features which you don't use that often but when you do it looks really professional, and most of all it is small and unobstrusive and you don't feel like a tourist using it. The stripes when you first switch it on go away after a few seconds and don't show up when you play back, but it's a bit annoying. I don't know whether this is normal or just my camera. I have been told to only use it in SP, but in this case why does it have LP at all? I don't believe ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to use ,good battery life

Disadvantages Disadvantages No scart lead supplied

Having never had a digital camcorder before i was a bit bemused by the number of different models out there.Having checked a few web reviews and visiting several high steet stores i chose the nvds60 mainly because of it,s size and price (£450) including starter pack with extended life battery. When igot it home iwas amazed at how quickley i got it set up and the battery charged. The functions are all very easy to use and the instruction manual simple and technobabble free The connection leads for the tv are very easy to use ,however no scart lead connector for my vcr was supplied so i had to ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, portable, good quality video and sound recording.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit outdated.

Great little camcorder which fits in the palm of your hand. Lots of useful features including built-in video light. Although it plays back recorded video from other Panasonic camcorders in great quality, it seems to struggle with tapes recorded on contemporary Sony camcorders as there is some picture drop-out (even when it was brand new) so I guess it uses a different digital coding to the Sonys. Other Panasonic models, apart from the DS60 and DS65, don't seem to have any problem playing tapes from old Sony camcorders. NOTE: I just found that it will install and transfer video fine with ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages uses lots of battery power

This camcorder is extremely easy to use but the quality isn’t too good. it is perfect for filming weddings, birthdays etc but nothing more pro. The night view isn’t too good either. Image stabilizer, optical zoom, DV Out, AV Output, built in light everything is excellent. Small size is an advantage. it is perfect to take on holiday with you etc. there is also digital still shot mode. These are the features for this camcorder 1/6"800,000 pixel CCD 10 X optical/ 500 x digital zoom lens Super image stabilizer 1.5 sec quick start 2.5 LCD monitor (112K) colour night view (not very good) DV output ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, tiny, compact! cheap!!!! perfect!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages none, for the value its ideal and cant be beat!!

my name is Jaben, i just recently go this camera (camcorder / video camera) and honestly at first i was a bit sceptical, but after using it over the past few days i love the thing!!! Maybe it doesnt have the memory slot! but u can hook this little thing to the pc, and video editting is totally a breeze!! for under £300 this is dirt cheap and i would suggest everyone get this thing if they on a budget!!! ok... as for digital stills! yes it can take em, but i have a 3mp camera for that! and personally i will be using this nv60 for capturing those holiday moments and also for my university course ... more
