Over the past couple of years, I have been a registered member of that elite little website (noooo, not that one!) called....e-Bay! Up until now, I have purchased a few odds and ends, and more recently, have been selling a few small items, mainly some of my son’s outgrown clothes, toys etc. Last week, however, I decided to bite the bullet and sell something big – and heavy! Basically, my son is now too old for his playpen – even if he could not manage to open the gate, he could certainly climb over the top – so I thought my best option would be to offer it for sale on e-Bay. However, unlike ... more

I have decided to write a review about Parcelforce to warn others against using them. Although I realise some of you may have positive experiences with them unfortunately mine is a very negative one. However in the interests of this review I will be looking at both sides of the coin (the good and the not so good). ~What is Parcelforce~ ParcelForce is a local force in world delivery Parcelforce Worldwide is a leading provider of guaranteed express deliveries and covers 27 million addresses in the UK and 99.6% of the world population. ~Global reach, local knowledge~ With their operation and ... more

Advantages Advantages Convenience for our busy lives

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too early to say

I thought people might be interested in a new service being offered by Parcel Force in conjunction with Royal Mail and Post Office Counters Ltd. The service is called Post Office Local Collect and works as follows: We all lead such busy lives these days that many of us use catalogue companies and the Internet regularly for purchasing goods instead of trudging the High Street.I myself frequently buy items such as books, CDs and Health products via the Internet. But since many of us are out at work every day, what happens when these items are delivered and need to be signed for? Or when there is ... more

Advantages Advantages Cutomer service Dept (Head Office) seemed genuinely concerned

Disadvantages Disadvantages bad service, rude staff, waste of money!!!

hmmmm...words to describe Parcel Force??? that one's easy - CRAP! Can you believe, I'd been waiting for a parcel for a month! Waited in about 5 times...wasting precious time...wasting money calling them...only to have nothing delivered and now to find out that it's been returned to sender, even though it's THEIR problem!!! I'd been waiting for an important parcel to be delivered by Parcel Force. The first attempt, obviously, I missed, as I was away from home and was not expecting the delivery that day. So I came home and found the delivery card and called the North London Depot. Through the ... more

Advantages Advantages Well - their vans are a nice colour

Disadvantages Disadvantages you don't actually get your parcel

At last - a chance to vent my feelings about Parcelforce. I think most people know that Parcelforce is basically the parcel delivery arm of the Royal Mail. The aim of the company is that someone posts a large item to you, and they deliver it. Well - not if you live where I do. The first problem I have with parcelforce is that one particular driver taps very quietly on my door, and then sticks a card through the letterbox before driving away. The only way I knew he was outside the one time, is because I happened to glace through the window and saw him walk away. I have told him to knock louder ... more

    Advantages Advantages Other couriers available

Disadvantages Disadvantages Terrible service & poor pricing

I may as well start off with something positive, as the rest of this review is going to be very negative as a direct result of my experience. As a company, they are a subsidiary of Royal Mail (otherwise known as Consignia plc group) who tend to have a monopoly on delivering goods. They were originally branded as Royal Mail Parcels and then emerged with their new name in 1990. The logo for the company portrays a partial digital image of the world with the words PARCELFORCE WORLDWIDE emblazoned above it. This obviously gives the correct impression, in that there is no area beyond their means ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages too many to list

Parcelforce Worldwide is, according to them, the UK's largest parcel carrier. They claim to deliver to 99.6% of the world's population and guarantee express delivery in over 200 countries, to be committed to customer service and to be able to give up-to-the-minute parcel tracking. Obviously, not in Buckinghamshire. Let me tell you first of my personal experience with Parcelforce. I recently got married and my husband and I chose to have a wedding list with an online company called Confetti.com. Shortly before the wedding they contacted us to arrange for delivery of our gifts, which was done ... more

I've had 4 experiences with parcelforce 1. Waited in all day for a mobile phone to be delivered... didn't arrive, we called up vodafone (who had sent the phone out) they then got in touch with parcelforce who assured them that it had been delivered!! which obviously it hadn't, vodafone then appologised and sent out another phone... once again, i waited in all day, glued to the front window, looking out for them and once again .. nothing! phoned vodafone and the same story... they said it had been delieverd. Decided to give up which resulted in me losing my free mobile phone for the year ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages CUSTOMER SERVICE

Sorry to "steal" some other peoples puns however it is just about the only appropriate one for this company. I am prone to writing opinions about products / services i like so I thought i'd try something new. Why do i hate Parcelforce?? Because they have possibly the worst customer service of any company. How many people work on parcelforces customer service lines is what i want to know? My guess is one. I was only able to speak to him after 3 days of endless trying. Fortunately i was able to put the hold music on speakerphone at work otherwise i would have a crippled neck though my colleagues ... more

Now my brother is not the most generous of people. So when he said that I could have his Nintendo 64 I thought that there was going to be a catch. He wanted me to pay the postage, which I thought was reasonable so I agreed. In the end he also charged me for it but that is another story and a long standing argument. So, off my brother toddles to the friendly local post office. The nice post mistress weighs the parcel and breathes in like a mechanic looking at a Morris Minor in for a complete overhaul. “This will cost she sighs.” And then suggests ParcelForce rather than Royal Mail ... more
