Advantages: The tracking is at least truthful! Disadvantages: They don't deliver when they promise, poor call centre/depot customer services
...these speakers from Jungle.com and Parceline just happened to be their choice of courier, unluckily for me! As you may have gathered too, it wasn’t a difficult item to deliver, not was it particularly bulky – just a set of speakers! But somehow Parceline got it a bit wrong.

I didn’t like the fact that it was a central call centre 0870 number and would have much preferred dealing with the local depot. Parceline are now known as DPD and have vans with a simple red and black logo on them.
I have been using them for years as I run a small business and have both suppliers that send items to me and have used them to send items out to customers too.
With the amount of parcels I have sent, there will be inevitably a few issues every now and again but I must say that on the whole, any issues have been usually resolved quickly and simply.
The biggest ... ...themselves, but the customers who don't know where they live. Here are a few problems we have had in the last few years:
1) Customer was definate about his postcode being correct. It turned out that this customer had asked a nearby neighbour what their streets postcode was. Some streets have more than one postcode and he had been using the wrong postcode for years. This sent the courier looking in the wrong direction for his named (not numbered) ...

...reviews on this site about Parceline I relised that many many people are not happy with this company, though many of the reviews are from a few years ago, I feel I'm in quite a privaliged position here as I have worked for them for three years and have also been an occasional customer.

I then became an acting supervisor and I worked in the office, to provide ...

Advantages: Use their webtrack facility to confirm that they're holding your parcel hostage Disadvantages: I have to work for a living which is incompatible with Parceline.
Parceline have clearly invested a lot of money in technology to track packages, however when it comes to the simple things like, say, being able to deliver at reasonable times for working folk, and basic customer services then it all falls apart.
A couple of days ago I ordered a new phone through O2 (delivered next day no problems by another courier), which unfortunately didn't work, so they arranged a Parceline 'Swapit' service so I could give ... ...to go wrong. Parceline will only deliver between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, which is of absolutely no use to me and I suppose 95% of other working people. When I got home yesterday there was a card with options to arrange redelivery which is no help as it is the same times. The second option is to arrange redelivery where you can specify 8am-12pm or 12pm-6.30pm for an exorbitant £5.95. This again is not helpful because even if I take a half ...

Advantages: cant think of one - wait - names short enough to remember Disadvantages: dont seem able to deliver which is a shame for a delivery company!
Recently ordered my upgrade phone from 3. This was another story to be written another time - im still sore from making myself understood.....
Eventually settled on a shiny new handset but as it was a saturday it would be tuesday before it arrived - as im in northern ireland i asked the obligatory "will i get shafted on delivery?" but no its a guaranteed next day service sir dont worry - sit in on tuesday.
Luckily im on holiday from work so on ... ...christmas waiting for my shiny new toy to arrive. Around dinner time (5pm) i rang three to see what was happening. I was told there was a glitch with it being northern ireland (rich being told this from india!) and it would definitely be delivered the following day. I was quite dissapointed :(
Next day up i get and again assume to anticpating mantis stance at the window - around 5 i ring again to be told " it should be there!" I reitereated that ...

...have my first experience of Parceline the other day. I had relieved our receptionist as is usual when her time to return home arrived. At around 18:30 hours the doorbell rang and I automatically opened the door (which is situated about 5 meters from the reception desk), the person stood and waited, and one of the staff was leaving opened the door. ...have heard about how horrendous Parceline service is from other people. Nevertheless, I have no choice but to use it as the company I bought the goods from has apparently used the aforementioned courier to deliver their goods.

Third: I have been tracking and refreshing the tracking website every hour and how can it be possible that that they are unable to deliver at 11.30am and only leaving the update at 4pm?!
Fourth: They say they left a calling card but THERE IS NO CALLING CARD at all!
My conclusion is: they never turned up and lied by saying that they deliver it to my address!

In my experience parceline have been overwhelmingly incompetent. Most recently I opted for their next day delivery service, but it is now 7 days later and I have nothing. It all began when the parcel was apparently delivered to my address, but no calling card was left, meaning I had to contact the business to get the tracking number. I then arranged for it to be re-delivered, giving them the code needed to gain entry to my block of flats and a mobile ... ...doing. It then appeared that parceline had no idea of my change of delivery address and had not even made any more attempts to deliver it to my previous address. All this despite the business I bought the item from informing parceline of the new address. In short, next day delivery has turned into a week, which is essentially slower than sending it second class. All in all I would urge people to steer well clear of parceline as they don't know their ...

...one of these occasions has Parceline managed to deliver the goods without problem.
Of the other deliveries, one went missing altogether, never to be seen again. On the other two occasions "Sorry We Missed You" cards were posted through the door, despite, there being someone in the house. (Yes, my doorbell does work!) They "tried" to deliver the item on a Friday, but as previously mentioned I did not get the card until Saturday. They charge to get items redelivered on a Saturday (a nice payoff for incompetency)
I entered the details from the card onto a form on their website, but got a message that stated that I could not arrange collection over the Internet, and that I should phone ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Terrible customer service; didn't ring doorbell
DPD is for you if you don't mind them:
1. Not ringing the doorbell - just putting a failed delivery note through the letterbox (that's what happened to us - Sept 2008).
2. Charging you for redelivery! That failed delivery note states that, for example, a weekday delivery before 10.00 a.m. will cost you £11.75; a Saturday between 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. will set you back £11.75. Redelivery is free - if you are prepared to stay in for 12 hours, on ... ...delivery. How you'll laugh if at 7.25 p.m. you see a failed delivery note and they never rang the doorbell...
3. When I complained, I was told that the driver must have rang the doorbell. I guess that makes me a liar, then. What great customer service!
Combine '1' with '2' and you have a recipe for increasing revenue - not that I am suggesting that that is what they were up to. Probably just in a hurry and assumed no one was in, or incompetent. ...

Utterly terrible courier company from my experience - failed first delivery, no card left. Second delivery automatically made the next day (surprisingly, I was at work so again went undelivered).
