More confessions of a Parcelnet Slave...

AdvantagesLocal delivery agents in your area at your beck and call

DisadvantagesThey do get paid peanuts and aren't treated well by Parcelnet

"...£4.95 for delivery. A parcelnet courier is probably paid around 50p for that delivery - no matter how many attempts they have to make. So you tell me who's making the profits because the couriers aren't. They are often working mums trying to make ends meet. A delivery round can't be predicted from day to day and so the closest I can give to a time of a delivery is probably 2 hours each way, though this could change if I end up with one customer ..." Avoid Parcelnet - you get what you pay for

AdvantagesUgh...none?

DisadvantagesMany.

"...my own ongoing experience with parcelnet and any opinions expressed in this review are solely my own and not those of Ciao, TOPSHOP or any representatives thereof--- Last Thursday I made an order on TOPSHOP.com. It was standard delivery (3-5 working days) and I was informed that the courier would be parcelnet, which really meant nothing to me at the time. I was given a tracking number and was looking forward to recieving my new dress. It is ..." Read review

No other service is like it

Advantagesdelivery on any day, efficient and friendly staff, free colletion, their own wedsite

Disadvantagescan't tell you when you will receive

" I have been using parcelnet for over a year now and they are one of the best courier services I have ever used. So what makes them better than any other? Well in the past I have used Intial City Link, White Arrow, Parcel Force and Business Express and these are not as good, usually because they don't deliver your goods on time, the staff are quite rude and turn up looking miserable, they don't deliver everyday and they sometimes say they have ..." Look what I found under my Gooseberry bush

AdvantagesGet the parcel whether you are in or not

DisadvantagesYou may not get the parcel or it may not be in tip top condition

"...what sounded like a deranged parcelnet courier retorting to previous reviews . Well we have all had that feeling of frustration with our work so I hope I don't add to the aforementioned couriers stress level and push him over the edge . My only dealings with parcelnet are in receiving an occasional parcel from a couple of different compmies . What I wanted to say about parcelnet is good and bad . I live in a row of terraced houses , along a ..." Read review

A couriers life is never dull !

AdvantagesFreedom, no pressure, smiling faces (mostly)

DisadvantagesNo pay rise for many years

"...to write this as a parcelnet courier who always tries his best to make the customer feel special when they answer the door and its not always easy if you are delivering in the pouring rain and your paperwork is soaked through and you are supposed to get signatures. I cannot speak for every courier, as with any business you always get a few bad apples, but on the whole the job is very enjoyable as basically you are bringing customers gifts which they ..." Does Parcelnet deliver? Dream on

AdvantagesNone

DisadvantagesPlenty

"Parcelnet or companies who deliver (or rather not deliver should I say) such sub-standard and poor services without any customer services or even a customer tel. line should not have the right to exist in 21st century. Its a crime to society for net shopping companies like Top Man to still use these cowboys to deliver their customer's goods (or shall we say not deliver). My daughter purchased a pair of jeans from Top Man. Several days later, I found ..." Read review

Can't deliver, won't deliver

AdvantagesNil

DisadvantagesThey do not deliver, unless it suits them.

"...that as they now use Parcelnet I will no longer order books or DVDs from what has been my favourite book service. The reason for this decision is simply that the book I ordered recently was sent by Parcelnet rather than Royal Mail which Amazon used exclusively at one time. The courier tried to deliver it during the day while I was at work. When I rang her and explained that evenings and weekends were the only times I was at home and there was ..." Read review

Parcels abandoned, not delivered

AdvantagesNone for supplier or purchaser

DisadvantagesIncompetent to the point of dishonesty

"...claims to have sent it. Parcelnet claims to have delivered it, but can't produce a signature or any other proof. Was the parcel abandoned on my pathway and some opportunist thief has had it away? I have no idea, all I know is that I haven't received my goods and have to go through a lost item claim and then the supplier has to resend the item. I understand Parcelnet is cheap to use. But what long term advantage does a supplier get when parcels ..." Read review

Contact Details for Parcelnet!

AdvantagesCheap!

DisadvantagesDo use them, or any supplier who uses them!

"...well over a month since Parcelnet took my parcel from Danbury Mint and it has still not been delivered. However after a lengthy search (about 4hours internet time) I have found the contact details for Parcelnet Head Office. After a telephone call to them I was told they don't deal with the public only their Customer (our suppliers) Well I finally got them to look into my parcel but still had to phone Danbury Mint to get a Reference number so Parcelnet ..." Parcel - a pox on us all

AdvantagesEmphatically - none it is not cheaper for the customer than other couriers.

DisadvantagesLate; damaged; left on the roadside open to theft; constant chasing and expensive

"...which in the case of Parcelnet is never adhered to. However, this is not my gripe. My local courier leaves parcels by the field gate in full view of a busy road. I have fished parcels out of the cattle trough; I have had a parcel of Easiyo yoghurt obviously eaten through by mice or rats because it has been kept in unsuitable conditions. Invariably when I check with the suppliers they can tell me a story such as the courier has left in in the porch ..." Read review

Parceltnet are pathetic

AdvantagesNone

DisadvantagesEverything

"...I tracked it on the parcelnet website. This is what came up 11/09/2006 02:41 Out for delivery 06/09/2006 21:26 Delivered 01/09/2006 02:38 Out for delivery It was a lie. None of the above was true. There was no note through my door. If they had in fact "delivered" it on the 6th, how can they try again on the 11th????? I contacted Amazon with this information, they said they would chase up my parcel. I then magically recieved a ..." Read review

parcelnet staff rudeness

Advantagesnone

Disadvantageseverything

"...have had any dealing with parcelnet (QVC usually use royal mail) and i really hope it is the last. Today, the courier finally tried to deliver my parcel (a week since it's dispatch date, royal mail normally take 2 or 3 days max from the dispatch date) however, he didn't try very hard. Despite sitting in a room right next to the front door in silence, the first thing i heard was a card coming through the letter box with a dodgily scrawled mobile ..." Read review

"...ridiculous!!! would definitely NOT recomment Parcelnet - they don't even have a customer services number, just one of those infuriating email forms that no-one bothers to respond to!! why the hell don't companies just use royal mail? be a hell of a lot easier. complete hassle

Advantagesquick delivery

Disadvantageshard to find contact details, poor customer service

"...answer, went to voicemail, called parcelnet back finally spoke to someone with a brain who in the end was very helpful and called the guy himself and called me back within 5 minutes to advise he would drop by within the hour to drop it off , which he did. just seemed like a lot of hassle on my day off! Shame as never had a problem with Amazon deliveries before, but has put me off if they use a courier service that has such bad service, and amazon ..." Read review

Quick review of Parcelnet

"My Amazon parcel took a very long time to arrive from when dispatched and when it did it was left on the step and had been crushed. We were home at the time and they didn't even bother to ring the doorbell. Poor in every respect I'd say! Never had any problems with Royal Mail.
