    This is a wonderful book about a journey in a small boat in some of the most gorgeous scenery on Earth, coloured by a theme of loss. Like the journey described, the narrative of the book is blown off course by events beyond the author's control. Basics ------ Passage to Juneau is a travel book about the author's journey from Seattle to Juneau in a small boat. If you are not familiar with the north west coast of the USA and Canada, believe me, this is one of the lovliest stretches of water anywhere and also one of the cruelest.
