WHO ARE PEACOCKS?
They started out in Warrington in 1884 and expanded, expanded and expanded again until they reached a grand old figure of 460 stores with more planned in the future, as well as taking over the UK they also have 61 stores in other places of the world too. ...found something I like in peacocks at a very reasonable price. While they're high on my list for finding something I like, there are other areas that certainly need addressing and stop me from rating it as highly as I would have liked. Location, Location, Location.

While the Peacocks logo is a trendy purple, it's surrounded in a not so white paint that could clearly do with a new coat or two. In the window you'll find well displayed clothes that are changed round periodically. What stuns me however is why they insist on putting for example red or black clothes which as you know soon fade as it is, right in the window where the sun is pouring in on them. Peacocks is a chain store offering clothes and assessories for all the family, originally from Warrington, Peacocks has currently over 460 stores throughout the UK and employs over 5000 staff and is part of the Peacock Group which includes Bonmarche and The Fragrance shop. ...the website and there’s no Peacocks in Crewe. Bother! There’s one in Crayford though. I bought some undies in there last week, so I know it’s definitely there. Not that that’s very helpful to me, Crayford’s a loooong way from Crewe. I used to visit Peacocks a lot when I lived in Manchester. The Stretford branch to be precise. I even bought stuff there. That’s right, eighteen-eighty-four! That’s a long time. Evidently they moved to Cardiff in the 1940’s when the current period of expansion started. These days they employ over 5000 staff and have 340 stores throughout the UK, none of which are in Crewe and two of which are in Crayford and Stretford.

Advantages: good value throughout the range, nice laid out stores, bright and welcoming, good product range Disadvantages: some quality is lacking and 'big name' labels are few and far between
Peacocks have recently arrived in our town. That is good news for families ‘on a budget’ and anyone looking for good value.
The stores that I have visited, in various other towns, are all neatly laid out, smart without being ‘flash’. They carry a wide range of childrens, womens and mens clothes, plus towels, linen and accessories like ‘fake’ jewellery, underwear and socks - and all at keen prices.
All of their ... ...suggest for a store like Peacocks is something like ‘young mums', 'families on a limited budget' and 'older people who must be careful with their cash'. That’s not to say that Peacocks is not for you – or me – or is only for the, shall I say 'lower classes'. I honestly don't mean that to sound disparaging, because Peacocks are definately a couple of rungs up from Market Stall type wear.
You can quite easily stock up with ...

...worth taking a look at Peacocks as they do, from time to time have reasonable items. Special offers on 'name' makes like Nike, Umbro and Adidas T-Shirts for under a tenner, can be found at times. However, their own label offerings like 'Urban Spirit' are not the best quality around, but for a 'basics' time clothing line I suppose it is OK. Peacocks also have their own website at www.peacocks.co.uk and you can browse there to get some idea of what they stock. ...quality. However, last year the Peacocks chain appeared to have a revamp. Gone was the drab stores with budget prices, and the result was vibrant sytlish clothes at a bargain price!!
The first thing i notice when i go into my local chain is that it is definetly aimed at a younger audience. The older stores in less built up areas seem to have a lot more for older people, whereas the new larger stores are very youth based. Advantages: Reasonably priced Disadvantages: Some items are quite tacky
Peacocks has been around in my home town of Colchester for quite a while now but I, myself hadn't really noticed the hidden away store until earlier this year. with its great selection of clothes, accesories, furnishings and even food, this shop is worth a look!
Peacocks is know as a 'High Street discount shop' but I would say the stores themselves are better known as a 'cheap budget' shop for 'not so wealthy' people and families is what would call ... ...decent or pure crap.
Peacocks also has a (if I may say so myself...) brilliant underwear section, for women anyway! The bras, knickers, thongs and so forth are of great quality and very in-exspensive. There is a wide variety of style and choice at fantastic choices, it was only the other day I bought an underwired cream bra with small embroidery on the front in the sale for £1.99!~And it has lasted few 2 washes so far! I also bought some knickers ...

Peacocks opened there first store for the public in 1884 in Warrington and later relocated there family and business to Cardiff in the 1940's. Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Not a great choice
Peacocks sells mens, womens and childrens clothing and underwear, but don't have a massive range. The womens clothes aren't too bad, and they have a fairly good range of larger sizes. There's not a great deal of choice, but they are cheap. The only trouble is a lot of it looks cheap as well, especially some of the tops which are made of that horrible polyester that always catches. Some of the trousers are good buys though, most are only £12.99 and ... ...over for loose threads and buttons.
The mens clothes aren't bad, but they don't have such a good choice of trendy items, but for basic t-shirts and trousers, they're good value. The underwear is cheap and there's a good range of bras, but the pants don't seem to last very long, although for that price you wouldn't expect them to.
The kids clothes are quite good, but the sizes seem a little odd. For my daughter, who's 8, the tops fit perfectly (size ...

Advantages: Cheap, large airy changing rooms, decent range Disadvantages: None that I can think of! Maybe queues...
Being the totally organised person that I am (yeah, right!), I left it until 5pm on the evening before my office Christmas party to find an outfit. "I'll be fine," I thought to myself, "it's late night shopping and I'm sure I'll be able to find something fairly easily." How wrong I was! Two hours later, I was still trudging the streets with a full purse, a pounding headache and an impending sense of doom. "What am I going to wear? Why does nothing ... ...buying a Santa outfit and pretend that I thought it was a fancy dress party? Aargh!". Being a curvy size 14 and quite top-heavy, my main problem was trying to find something that didn't make me look like a French maid, or at the other extreme, my granny's bingo buddy. So I lit a cigarette and contemplated my options. Option 1: go in something I already have. (To me, this was not really an option, as a search of my wardrobe the previous night for ...

Advantages: Cheap, comfy clothes, good for shoes! Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff, Some clothes are frumpy
Peacocks was always one of those shops that I'd avoid. It was just never an option since it didn’t seem to have any clothes that I’d ever want to wear and the prices weren’t amazingly cheap. However, last year our shopping parade where I lived at Uni lost one of its three clothes shops. To begin with we’d had a New Look, a Select and a Peacocks. Now, despite the fact that none of these shops are exactly “quality” shops, at least New Look offered ... ...for £12 from there.
Peacocks just didn’t seem to hit the mark – its clothes were always a bit too big and there was never anything appealing. However, recently my friend told me about her bargain pair of shoes and how amazingly comfy they were. I had to admit they looked lovely and I was even more amazed when I discovered they had come from Peacocks!
So the next time I needed a comfy pair of shoes off I trotted to our local Peacocks. I found this ...

...I'd write an op' on Peacocks another fashion store which is alot like Primark.
Peacocks too offers fashionable clothing for the whole family at sensible prices that even those on a budget like myself can afford.

Peacocks was founded around 117 years ago in 1884. The company was originally founded in Warrington, but moved to Cardiff in the late 1940. The company steadily grew under the chairmanship of Robert Peacock. Today the company has 300 stores nationwide, and employs around 4,000 members of staff.
