...1807 a dude called Andrew Pears created a soap bar and aptly named it Pears Soap.
Pears soap is a hypoallergenic and Non-Comedogenic soap; which basically interprets as: it is suitable for people who have sensitive skin and it won’t clog pores.

...it is really worth it. Pears soap is also suitable for sensitive and babies skin.
The soap itself is quite a firm bar and keeps its firmness even after washing, unlike some soaps that claim to be all that and just fall into a soggy mess on the wash basin, I find most of these soaps are a waste of money as most of it is washed down the plug hole and are used up within a very short time. ...years ago, the mention of Pears Soap always conjured up pictures of grannies and other elderly ladies, claiming, “This is the best soap you can buy”, and was to be shunned at all costs, in case my friends would think I was old-fashioned. WHAT IS PEARS SOAP.
Believe it or not, Pears soap has been around since 1789, when it was developed by a gentleman called Andrew Pear for the upper classes in London society. Normal folks like you and me in they days couldn't afford luxuries like soap. Ah, the good old days. (and no, I wasn't actually around then).

Pears soap has got a lot of memories for me. I can remember it way back when I was a child. I only ever knew one person who used Pears soap. And that was my elderly Auntie. She always had a bar of Pears soap sitting by her kitchen sink. There was never a time when there wasn't a bar there. So, of course, I used to used this soap round hers. And that was the only time I ever used to wash with Pears soap, as nobody else I ever knew used Pears. So, ... ...normal sized bar, with the Pears name indented on the top and bottom of the soap. It also says it's transparant. It is to a point. The smell of the soap is quite strong and potent, and most probably not to everybody's liking. But the aroma is very different and unique. The instant you smell this, you will know it's Pears. It's hard to descibe the smell. It's not really a sweet smell. It is somewhat bitter, but a pleasant smell. It is, perhaps, the ...

Advantages: Easy To Find. Long Lasting. Good for Oily Skin Disadvantages: Not many
Pears soap ,which is made in Britain, has been around for a very long time, possibly as long as a century. It is made by the big Anglo-Dutch conglomerate, Unilever, and has been a tried and tested soap for as long as I can remember.
What is really unique about Pears is that it is a glycerine-based soap. It has a rather distinctive transparent amber colour and is very well packaged. It is also widely marketed and dead easy to find : most chemists, pharmacies ... ...and gentle on my skin. Pears does not irritate and another big plus factor is that it lasts a long time.It lathers quite well and I find it is quite economical. The bars last ages and they don't go gunky like other soaps, this I believe is because they are glycerine based. They are not highly scented but do have a slightly floral scent in my opinion.
