Review of Pentax MZ 60

AdvantagesLightweight, easy to use

DisadvantagesAwkward location of some buttons

"Pentax MZ-60 This was my first SLR kit bought in January 2003, which came with a 35-80mm f4/5.6 FA lens. The camera is I belive quite good value for money and an ideal starter SLR, with plenty of features. It has nine modes, including automatic, as well as aperture mode (Av), shutter-mode (TV) and metered manual mode (M) for the enthusiasts. Exposure ranges from 1/2000 second to 30 seconds, although in bulb-mode the exposure can be set for up to ..." Read review

Quick review of Pentax MZ-60 DATE

"The fact that it loads the film for you (I could never get the hang of putting film in a camera!) is FAB! This is my first autofocus, (great if you've forgot your specs! and which can be switched to manual focus) and autowind camera. Love the fact there is manual overide so you can experiment. The built in flash isn't too bad either, taken a few intimate gig pictures with mine which were pretty good. I agree about the AV button being a bit awkward, and the fact there is no depth of field button and little info in the viewfinder is frustrating. I have had some good years and pretty decent pictures from mine and am not giving it up for digital just yet. A great first buy for people who want to get started in photography, but can't afford digi SLR's.

Pentax Performance

Advantageseasy to use, light, great for holiday photos.

Disadvantagesdoes not have all options for experienced photographer

"I had an old Pentax 'Spotmatic' and I finally made an upgrade. I am very happy with this camera and I highly recommend it. It is very light weight so good to carry around when travelling. It has some great options like being able to switch to different options depending on whether you are taking a night, action, nature, scenery etc photo. It has zoom feature, both in and out and a flash option and this will automatically pop up when it gets too ..." Read review
