Advantages: Simple to use, light to carry and great results Disadvantages: Depth of field preview hard to see
My MZ-M was a birthday present, so I didn't choose it myself. I can say, though, that having used it, I would choose it myself.
I've just started a photography degree and this is the ideal high-quality basic kit. It's light to carry, very simple to use and gives very good results. It has the advantage of a depth of field preview, which even some expensive cameras lack. I'm not sure whether I just haven't got the knack of seeing the preview yet, ... ...idea. I'm sure that's my problem rather than the camera's.
While I say it's basic kit, I don't mean the camera is missing anything essential. It is completely manual - with shutter speed and aperture priority settings - and doesn't clutter up your photographic life with lots of gimmicks and functions that you'll never use.
My first roll of black and white film turned out very well - and I have to give the credit to the camera rather than my skills! ...
